They desperately need another starting pitcher. You’ve only added one more guy in Kopech from last year, a year in which they ran out of gas at around the 50 game mark.

I’d rather have Yates over Colome. I think I’ve convinced myself that Yates for a year and an option is a lot smarter than 3-4 years for Hendriks.

Sox base their payroll off of expected attendance. Expected attendance I’m sure took a hit with so many people canceling, which I have no problem with, everyone can spend their money how they want. With that said, it’s only natural to expect the budget to be less than it was due to the lower estimation of ticket sales. Seems like basic economics to me.

Those same people are the ones complaining they went cheap in free agency. We still would have heard “well they didn’t go after Springer so they better go after Bauer now”.

I’m not excited at all about Eaton, but it’s obvious some on here wouldn’t have been happy about anyone besides Bauer or Springer.

I like Joc but he fits the profile of player that comes to the Sox and is a massive bust.

Also, I trust Eaton to have a better at bat against some of the tough righties in the division more than I do someone like Robert.

Really just need to see how they fill rest of the roster with money they saved. If they go and sign Teheran and Archie Bradley, then I hate the Eaton signing. If they get Hendriks and Paxton, then it makes sense.
