NL Wildcard Round
Silly Padres for strengthening their bullpen at the deadline

Are Dunning and/or Cease Slotted into the 2021 Starting Rotation?
The drastic decline in K rate is what worries me about his future. He’s never going to have the command of Kyle Hendricks, which is why having him showcase a upper echelon ability to miss bats was so important. I’m not giving up on him though, but he needs to make some changes.

Random Prediction Time
He also knew they were going to have huge attendance in 2006. 2021 is literally the opposite end of the spectrum.

McCann
Basing all this on the same Summer Camp that allowed Delmonico to make the big league team, I see

I saw very little from Stiever that made me think he’s someone you desperately hold on to.

NL Wildcard Round
Go Marlins! And yes we would be livid if some of the Sox guys looked like the Cubs hitters at the plate.

Random Prediction Time
First transaction: trade for Benintendi Crazy trade scenario: trade Vaughn and Stiever for top of rotation arm and sign Nelson Cruz for DH Biggest signing: Stroman 2021 closer: Heuer Bauer 2021 team: Cardinals

Cease had a bad year, significant regression in terms of his ability going forward.

Why was Dunning pulled after 15 pitches?
Appreciate it, drove me nuts when rooting against the Cubs

Why was Dunning pulled after 15 pitches?
I agree, just saying I don’t believe Crochet when he was saying he was fine. It wasn’t just the dip they were concerned about.

Why was Dunning pulled after 15 pitches?
Not if he was trying to pace himself to go longer

Guess the pitcher we add in the offseason
RF guess?

Why was Dunning pulled after 15 pitches?
Foster should have been given a game during the Cubs series to start as the opener again and then start yesterday.

Could totally see them trading a relief arm for Kole Calhoun. It’s just so hard to predict anything though with the COVID impact on money.

Why was Dunning pulled after 15 pitches?
They had no faith in any of their young starters, and I don’t blame them for how they finished the season. The Sox best chance of giving up a minimum number of runs was getting their main pen guys involved. It just didn’t work due to the injury unfortunately.

Bauer just isn’t realistic, IMO. Stroman or Odorizzi is way more realistic.

Why was Dunning pulled after 15 pitches?
They also shouldn’t have pitched Heuer in game 2 if they knew a bullpen game was coming

Offseason Targets
No guarantees but it’s versatile enough that with a loaded lineup, you don’t need to spend to upgrade it.

Offseason Targets
Wouldn’t you say a bench of Engel, Mendick and Leury is pretty darn good

Why was Dunning pulled after 15 pitches?
Yep absolutely, couldn’t agree more.

Why was Dunning pulled after 15 pitches?
If he left Dunning in to face Olson, their best power guy, and gives up a 3 run homer, almost all of us would have gone ballistic.

Will the Front Office Fire Renteria?
I agree he won’t be fired, but it’s infuriating that the Sox only have “2 starting pitchers”. Too much potential for Cooper to continue to fail in terms of developing starters. Some change is desperately needed in the organization. This year was successful, but it was also set up perfectly for this team. They flat out weren’t a good team against actual contenders and were below .500 against RHP.

Go back and watch the Lamb AB. He missed his spot badly the whole AB and wasn’t crisp at all. I’m sure if he didn’t struggle the last two games, they might have been more patient.

I think it’s time to move on from Rodon https://mobile.twitter.com/AshleyRodon/status/1311790061365522433

Roark, Miley and Lyles were guys they were interested in besides Gio. All of them were awful beyond belief.
