This is an extremely poor lineup against LHP. It’s kind of amazing they’ve played as well as they have against LHP of late.

Sure they’re more talented, but they definitely have their warts also. It’s funny how similar they are in that they should have great success if they can throw their fastball for strikes.

Yep we had a discussion in that very thread about how Giolito was struggling with his fastball command but was using his changeup more effectively than he did in recent starts.

He’s a huge man who has struggled in the past to maintain consistent mechanics. Now it’s the job of Mr. Fix It Cooper to get him back on track.

Wouldn’t that also coincide though with usually facing top teams in those games? I doubt we have a packed house to face the Marlins or Orioles.

Yep fastball command hasn’t been the same since. He was able to do well against Twins with the changeup. I’m not giving up hope, but he needs to get back on track and not struggle with the mental side of things like last year.

I keep feeling like the Brewers and Sox are a great fit for a Colome trade. I have no idea if the Brewers and/or Sox would do this, but Burnes is a great buy low type guy from them. He's had a miserable start to the season, as he can't keep the ball in the park. With that said, he has elite stuff (ridiculous spin rate numbers) and wouldn't mind giving him starts the rest of the way to see if he can work on his command inside the zone.

You also had Hamels going from the AL and a launching pad for a home park to an NL team in a pretty even offensive home field. Shields was the exact opposite of that.
