At last check, Moncada is 28th out of 29 qualified 3rd baseman defensively on fangraphs. Anderson is 23rd out of 25 for qualified SS. The Sox would be the worst defensive team in baseball if not for the Mariners AMAZING defensive season so far.

There is no successful rebuild if they don't spend significant money. They're not good enough developing prospects. I know one report recently came out that said they're the worst in baseball, and equally as bad at developing hitters as they are pitchers.

It's funny, but I completely disagree when Hahn says development isn't linear. It seems in the last decade or so, it's been pretty rare for a prospect to completely tank in a season and then go on to excel for the rest of their career. For every Roy Halladay, there's hundreds of guys that just faded away.

problem is that if he is replaced and they bring in someone in-house like has been rumored, it does the Sox no good if it's still a similar philosophy.
