  1. It's basically a AAA bullpen if you think about it besides the two veterans. Sadly it seems the Sox are going to have to spend some money on pitching (starting and bullpen) in a few years despite a lot of resources being used for pitching during the rebuild.
  2. Nice range by Timmy....I really have no idea what their defensive positioning is tonight.
  3. Betts has hit 3 balls up the middle today and Sox haven't gotten to one of them. Rondon seems extremely slow.
  4. Is he getting struck out on pitches off the plate so far in AA?
  5. Nice to get Giolito off the hook so Parkman can sleep better tonight
  6. don't worry, I'm sure nothing will happen to his job security
  7. That's a horrible send and simply awful base running by Abreu. That ball was nowhere near getting caught.
  8. Ugly freaking 3-1 swing on fastball down the plate. Like seriously, how is a major leaguer swinging like that?
  9. That technology Benetti was discussing sounds awesome
  10. I like more that even when he misses with the fastball, it's not by much. I think some forget how much he was missing the plate by last year.
  11. yeah use it as a waste pitch makes all the sense in the world. It's funny to think about how great Giolito must have looked throwing bullpens when scouts were watching him in high school. The curve looks sexy until you see how hitters react to it.
  12. A lefty is up to start the 6th...for sure Ricky will play those percentages
  13. It's true....according to fangraphs pitch value, his slider and changeup are his best pitches. Giolito's curveball is either a hanger over the plate or a 58 footer that doesn't even tempt the hitter to swing at.
  14. Giolito really has to stop hanging so many pitches. Really wish he'd just focus more on the slider.
  15. oh dear god that 2nd pitch to Rondon wasn't close to a strike.
  16. Yoan starting to fall back into some bad habits
  17. But he does it too much, to the point you could argue it's taking away chances for them to work on situational hitting.
  18. Him and Yoan now 5 for last 34 combined since the Tigers walk off. Hopefully they pick it up again soon.
  19. Not sure why he’s abandoned the changeup that was working well early
