  1. If the minor league season was longer, I'd say it's getting close to demotion time. It's so disappointing to see how much worse he is as a hitter now compared to when he came up last season.
  2. Another great exhibit of how badly he's pulling off the ball. If it's not inner half, he has absolutely no chance. That was the 3 worst swings he's had in an at bat this year. Keep up the great work Yoan and Steverson.
  3. He typically does a good job of keeping the ball fair down the line
  4. Was actually an inside slider. Good pitch for him to hit given his swing path. Just missed double.
  5. Nice to see the Sox valuing defense as always

Madrigal has incredible range at 2nd (and you all know how I'm not his biggest fan)
  7. As a closer, I think Lopez could hit 100. If you go back and watch his first inning with the Sox when he was amped up, his fastball was electric.

Whenever I watch Sheets, it seems he isn't even trying to loft the ball. If it's a sinker, he just pounds it into the ground. To my eyes, his swing needs a total overhaul if he wants to stay a prospect the next few years.
  9. So Covey is our "opener" and Giolito takes over in the 2nd?

Both Rutherford and Sheets haven't homered in approximately 40 straight games. That's incredible considering the extra small fence in RF at W-Salem. Birmingham is going to be quite rough on them.

In 2012 I remember him having a fastball that looked like Mark Buehrle in a crucial Sunday night game at Detroit during the collapse.
  12. Good point, he just do so many things poorly on the mound that it's really hard to see him turning it around. Inconsistent mechanics, bad pitching from the stretch, inability to hold runners and general lack of spin rate. He's still living off his prospect ranking from a few years ago.
  13. God he sucks. 6.41 ERA after mid-August. Cooper is doing a wonderful job with the young guys.
  14. He would never do such a thing
  15. The biggest disappointment this season has to be that the only player on the roster that you could guarantee would be a starting player come 2020 or 2021 is Rodon. The first wave of Giolito/Lopez/Moncada/Anderson haven't jumped up and done enough to feel confident in them. Hopefully Eloy and Kopech do next season.
  16. Holy cow, the Chicago Dogs owner posts on here?
  17. Screw that, if he's not making the adjustments, then let him get embarrassed/humbled.
  18. You mean taking two fastballs on the first two pitches that had the plate and then he chased a pitch off the plate? He just sucks right now, and if he's not making the adjustments they're preaching to him, then bench him or demote him.
  19. Off the plate, got to protect though. Just laughable how often it happens. He could definitely use a day off tomorrow.
  20. Nice meatball...this bullpen might not be good
  21. Acuna is going to be incredible
