  1. Yet I guarantee you that if the Sox took a great defensive SS who is expected up to the majors around 2020, people would say Anderson was pressing if he went into a defensive slump after the draft. Again, I don't think it's linked, but the timing has made it much easier to suggest Madrigal stays at where he's elite and Yoan can move.
  2. I'm sure it's purely coincidental but it's a bit ironic his defensive slump started right around when the Sox drafted a potential GG 2nd baseman.
  3. And 3-4 more bad plays that weren't given errors. His defense is not good enough to make Madrigal and his sensational defense move elsewhere.
  4. It's when you remember that so many of the same bad front office members and talent developers/scouts that got them to have to rebuild are still making decisions.

Over the past month, his defense has been worse than his offense. If he keeps this up, he better not complain when they move him to a different position when Madrigal comes up
  6. Moncada's bad defense is becoming a huge issue. Seriously, what good is Renteria if the young guys keep getting worse?
  7. Haha, another great start. Lopez is way too inconsistent. As for Ricky, he is a total fraud
  8. Also, great to see Omar rewarded with his great game from yesterday with another start today.
  9. Lopez fastball down about 3 mph from how he usually starts. 4 pitch walk, this is gonna be fun.
  10. And would you be at all shocked if Sox then signed Abreu after next season? For me, would make a lot of sense actually.
  11. Big difference between Abreu and JDM. You get an extra season with Abreu, as well as the ability to get a comp pick if he leaves after next season.
  12. Not as the main part. Has all the makings of a AAAA player
  13. And Sox could have taken him last year if they really liked him.
  14. .233 with 7 homers in his career in 284 plate appearances according to high leverage stat.
  15. Couldn't within 1 run be a 1-0 game in bottom of 1st? Seems like fangraphs created high leverage stat to give a better representation of "clutch" factor
  16. Jose continues to be very bad in the clutch. If I'm reading fangraphs correctly, he's hitting .182 with no homers in 27 at bats in high leverage spots.
  17. Mechanically, there can't be much worse from an offensive player in a long time
  18. There we go Yoan!
  19. Engel's swing is something
  20. And get Omar the hell away from young starters.
  21. Stop guessing, my god Yoan. Even Stone seems pissed. Is there any coaching going on with these young guys instead of telling them to hustle and focus?
  22. I bet you he starts over Leury in CF
  23. Defense of late has been so incredibly bad. If you're going to hit as bad as Engel does, that has to be caught.
  24. They really need a different catcher. Omar looks like he's never caught a game in his life.
  25. Of course he did well, he was forced to swing
