  1. QUOTE (wrathofhahn @ Feb 11, 2018 -> 12:23 AM) Arrietta though lost a bunch off his fastball last year. Same thing happened to shields. Doubt he performs at a high level for more then a cpl of years unless he regains lost vo Darvish still throws the heat even if he gets too careful as Japanese pitchers do Yu has a ton more mileage on his arm and as I mentioned a while ago, the list of Japanese pitchers who perform well in their 30s is very small.
  2. QUOTE (Tony @ Feb 10, 2018 -> 08:58 PM) It's actually 6/126 which is much better, but he can reach $150 with incentives. Also will make a prediction the Cubs fans will turn on him very, very quickly
  3. QUOTE (Tony @ Feb 10, 2018 -> 07:53 PM) BREAKING: Yu Darvish to #Cubs, six year-deal in $150M range, sources tell The Athletic. Pending physical. That deal will not age well, but Theo will just spend more money to cover the holes.
  4. I think the Sox scouts just really liked Rutherford, even though guys like KLaw were very disappointed with what they were seeing during 2017
  5. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Feb 8, 2018 -> 09:54 PM) That was one of my favorite series ever. From the 20 run explosion to start, and it ended with Anthony Reyes throwing a perfect game, except for one pitch to Thome and took the L. That was when the 2006 team was playing better than any Sox team I've ever seen. That 1-0 game was awesome with Jenks throwing like 200 mph
  6. QUOTE (New Era on South Side @ Feb 7, 2018 -> 11:51 PM) It matters in terms of the direction of content. The Score rarely has White Sox players, coaches and front office members on unless it is Mully and Hanley in the morning. Spiegel and Parkins are both Cubs fans so they rarely talk about the White Sox and I’ve only heard B&G talk with the Sox twice since they started their show. You don't like hearing Len Kasper do interviews ten times a week on the Score during baseball season?
  7. QUOTE (Tony @ Feb 7, 2018 -> 03:56 AM) I can’t wait until people start freaking out about Kopech showing up at like 93 on the radar gun and saying his velocity is way down after their has been countless articles saying this Spring and season he is going focus primarily on offspeed stuff. Just wait, it’s coming. No way, it will be myself and others freaking out about Giolito and Lopez's velocity
  8. QUOTE (BrianAnderson @ Feb 5, 2018 -> 07:34 PM) The Marlins seem to be doing a really brokea** Sox rebuild a year later. Thank god we have Hahn and not Jeter and Co. You look at all these talented guys being auctioned off and you think to yourself how the hell didn't they compete.. Yelich Ozuna Gordon Stanton Realmuto Then you still have okay pieces in Bour, I forget their third baseman off the top of my head,.. the overpaid, but decent 3B. I mean, they had a heck of a lot of talent but no real SP. Kind of the Sox, but opposite. We had Sale and Q and company, but just not enough bats. Then when didn't have what we needed to trade or acquire them to finish the team. Has to suck to be a Marlins fan. Both teams should be ashamed they weren't more competitive
  9. Big fan of Eric and Kiley. I'm surprised how low Kopech is on most of these lists.
  10. QUOTE (bmags @ Feb 5, 2018 -> 06:00 PM) I think the in person reports see a kid who likes spraying the ball over the field which has caused the GB rate. If he fills out and changes approach he could unlock his potential. But the in person reports for him were awful according to KLaw. Very weak contact and definitely not a CF.
  11. Collinsworth might as well have been Bergman announcing the ALDS in 2005. What a disgrace
  12. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Feb 4, 2018 -> 07:14 PM) He's not the only one that thinks this. Does anyone outside of the Sox org actually think he can? Still waiting to hear a non-Sox rep say he can.
  13. QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Feb 2, 2018 -> 06:06 AM) Yup, that was his update tonight. The meeting was to go over Darvish strategy. The idea is they know what the Rays want for Archer, but want to probably wait on what Darvish does before pulling the trigger. Darvish expected to make his decision Monday, and then we may see a flurry of trades and signings that have been held up by him. He doesn't expect them to get Darvish, but does think they get Archer for 4 pieces
  14. QUOTE (Username @ Feb 1, 2018 -> 07:36 PM) White Sox supposedly in the market for a DH, according to Heyman. No names from what I can tell. Melky reunion?
  15. QUOTE (Jack Parkman @ Feb 1, 2018 -> 01:30 AM) 1. 3B 2. LHP 3. Middle Infield, because you can never have enough of those guys. Why is 3b so high? Would be a pretty bad testament to their scouting of Burger last year.
  16. Two things: - in today's KLaw chat, he said Hankins seems to be the top rated guy as of now in the whole draft - with Kiley McDaniel back at fangraphs, I expect we'll get better draft tidbits heading into the draft than last year
  17. QUOTE (daggins @ Jan 31, 2018 -> 11:45 PM) Yup. My exact thoughts when I saw this thread title - High Upside Middle Infielders and Left Handed Starting Pitching. I'm hoping Eierman just goes bonkers this year and becomes a top 5 pick. In the games I saw last year, he was more impressive than Burger by a gigantic amount.
  18. Time for Brock to go away. Main event matches with him are unwatchable despite how great Braun is
  19. Having the women's rumble go on last is the dumbest thing I've ever seen
  20. QUOTE (Soxnfins @ Jan 27, 2018 -> 09:02 PM) They are so signing one of the big FAs next year. He was probably talking about Cespedes in the offer above. Tanaka
  21. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Jan 26, 2018 -> 11:14 PM) wow, that's a great update and perhaps lends more credence to the "minor" version of his shoulder surgery story the Sox are selling. Hell, if he's already starting his throwing program you'd think he's only a few weeks behind. Maybe a May debut? He said tonight he hopes to be ready by ASB. So he will probably be ready by 2021
  22. Brewers insider claiming they are working on two trades. Santana to an AL team tomorrow and one other.
