QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Nov 14, 2015 -> 01:33 AM) Kimbrel to the Red Sox Half of the NL isn't even pretending to compete for next year
-
QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Nov 12, 2015 -> 07:34 PM) Really quick: Tell me the AAC's three best OOC wins and the Big Twelve's three best OOC wins. That's the thing, I'm sure it's the AAC right now (Penn St. and Ole Miss). With that said, they still have no chance of getting a team into the final 4 despite this being the best year in conference history.

Kapler and Erstad were two of his favorites.

MLB free agent predictions: Who should sign Jeff Samardzija?
fathom replied to whitesoxjr27's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Lots of decisions haven't been announced yet, even though everyone thinks they'll be rejected. Absolutely no reason to think he'll accept. -
QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Nov 13, 2015 -> 06:16 PM) Highly doubt he accepts it. With the rumors of teams interested and I'm sure alot of teams are probably blaming the defense around him this year for some of the crappy stats he will decline Not sure how the crappy defense can be blamed for the bombs he gave up once the trade deadline passed. As for the bad defense, a lot of that had to do with his own poor fielding. His ERA wasn't horrible even after the Micah Johnson disaster up until the deadline....and then he performed like the worst pitcher in baseball.

QUOTE (SCCWS @ Nov 13, 2015 -> 02:14 AM) I would want Bradley over Betts. Boston will not trade Bogaerts. Swihart was rushed to the majors due to an injury instead of spending a year in AAA. He is an outstanding talent. Betts way better than JBJ
-
QUOTE (daggins @ Nov 13, 2015 -> 03:00 AM) Fans overvalue their own players as a function of their fandom. That said, Boston would be dumb to trade either of those guys for Sale, let alone both. I don't think people realize just how good Bogaerts and Betts were last year. Bogaerts should be the best SS in baseball for the next decade.
-
QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Nov 13, 2015 -> 01:58 AM) Boegarts, Swihart, and Moncada? Sure but doubt Boston does it. More like Devers
-
QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Nov 13, 2015 -> 01:48 AM) They probably wouldn't. However, Sale is a once in a generation type talent, so he'd require a once in a generation type return in any trade. I think you're overrating him. Bogaerts might be a better player as soon as 2016.
-
QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Nov 13, 2015 -> 12:44 AM) Betts and Bogaerts would be the main guys in the package, but I'd also want Owens, Devers, and Margot. No way would Boston give up that much
-
QUOTE (MDWhiteSoxFan @ Nov 13, 2015 -> 01:39 AM) So realistically what would it take for you all to trade Sale away? I'm not in favor of trading him unless we get a massive haul back but I don't have a clue of prospects. I just know of Bogaerts and Swihart (which would be nice pieces) but what else would it take. 2 big league players with huge potential and a top 50 prospect. That article was intriguing due to the Red Sox link, as Bogaerts/Swihart seems to be a fantastic starting point.
-
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Nov 13, 2015 -> 01:24 AM) Braves should get something good for Aybar when they spin him. He was so bad last year though
-
QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Nov 13, 2015 -> 01:15 AM) http://www.csnchicago.com/white-sox/dealin...-sox-turnaround If you can get Bogaerts, Swihart and a top prospect....then see ya Sale
-
QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Nov 13, 2015 -> 12:02 AM) What about his defense? He's probably the best defensive shortstop in all of baseball. Yes, and as much as the Sox need defensive help, they need offensive help more. Acquiring him would have used up any resource they had to improve the team.
-
QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Nov 13, 2015 -> 12:48 AM) Damn, I would've given the Braves Montas, Adams, Danish, and someone else for him. Way too much pitching to give up for someone that won't help your offense much.

Great trade for the Angels
-
I don't think that's nearly enough for Frazier. Other teams interested in power/3B could offer way more. I also think Micah Johnson wouldn't be enough for Norris.
-
Seen a few places today that agents don't think the Sox will go after the top free agents. buster olney most recently in his chat was the latest

Also I have no idea why Fla St is ranked. They have beaten no one
-
QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Nov 11, 2015 -> 10:29 PM) So where do you think Houston should be ranked? If any win is better than any loss, then why schedule any tough OOC games? No problems where they're at, as they haven't beat anyone good. Same reason I'm fine with Baylor where they're at now, but will think it's insane if they go undefeated and aren't a top 4 team. Florida has some good wins, which should negate some "bad" wins as well. To answer your question, I don't know why anyone schedules a tough OOC game that's in a power 5 conference. If you run the table, you're going to make it. The current format isn't designed for a team from the AAC, etc. to make it, and I'm fine with that.
-
QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Nov 11, 2015 -> 08:54 PM) Depends on who the close loss is to, and depends on who the close win is to. Is an overtime win against an FCS team really more valuable than an overtime loss to a top 4 ranked team (just a hypothetical example here)? I think most would disagree. Also, once again, this isn't the first close win Florida has had against bad teams. There's also Kentucky and ECU. To me, yes any win should be viewed better than any loss. As I said before, if a team is barely winning and then loses a game it shouldn't have, then you can punish them for not being impressive during the year.
-
QUOTE (zenryan @ Nov 11, 2015 -> 08:42 PM) Not all two or "X" point outcomes should be viewed as equal. I agree with that, but they still should be valued more than a close loss
-
QUOTE (spiderman @ Nov 11, 2015 -> 07:31 PM) I do think it's a mistake to be making decision (specifically strategic decisions that could impact the club for a decade) around how the Cubs are performing. Problem is that the Chicago media now thinks it's the only way you can build a team.
