  1. QUOTE (Tony @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 08:56 PM) There is something wrong with the structure of Reisdorf lead teams. The comparisons between the Bulls and Sox front offices are scary. I'm just sick of the regular drama that follows this franchise. Even IF Willaims is falling on the sword which most of us thought was the case, he didn't have everyone on board with the plan, clearly with leaks from the clubhouse meeting and Eaton talking. It wasn't handled the right way from a PR front, which just adds to a long list of issues. I'm just done with it. Don't disagree with anything you say here. I know today's an off day, but I strongly disagree with everyone in the front office being quiet today. Story just continues to build with no damage control being done.
  2. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 07:52 PM) Well, the slim chance of Sale coming back to the Sox after his contract is up has officially bit the dust. Yeah, that's about the least concerning thing of this whole issue to be honest. Have fun with all those innings on the elbow/shoulder by the time he's a FA.
  3. QUOTE (bmags @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 07:52 PM) Fathom - where did you see that Hahn/RV asked KW to talk to laroche? "they" - players
  4. QUOTE (Tony @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 07:48 PM) The more this goes on, the more is becomes clear this isn't a LaRoche/players issue. It all centers around Kenny Williams. That is the root of this issue, and so many others. How so? That seems the opposite of everything we've heard today.
  5. Also, wouldn't be surprising if Renteria came into ST and said "WTF is this" to Kenny about the kid
  6. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 07:44 PM) I think this will blow over eventually, but if it doesn't and the White Sox tank in 2016, my prediction is RH...gone. RV...gone. KW takes back the GM seat. I'm half-expecting to log on tomorrow to read Hahn quit
  7. Wow, Pedro Gomez said a few of the coaches raised concerns about Drake's presence
  8. Ravech saying that Sale, Robertson and Frazier helped with the decision for the team to play yesterday http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=14996172 Also, I wonder what "extreme actions" everyone was considering
  9. Herb LawrenceVerified account ‏@Ecnerwal23 8m8 minutes ago Imperial Beach, CA The Sox-LaRoche thing is a win-win for both parties. AL can go out as a martyr instead of a bum player. Sox get bad player/contact off books
  10. QUOTE (Condor13 @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 07:31 PM) Noone, but why would you ignore your GM and manager when they tell you that you should not tell LaRoche anything and you completely ignore them and do it anyway, ultimately causeing what appears to be a sizable rift in the clubhouse They did tell KW to talk to him about dialing back, and he refused to listen so KW brought it up again and he quit. KW did nothing bad here, he's just being the bad guy to keep others out of the spotlight. The story is so dumb.
  11. How dumb are these people to not realize players complained? Jesse Rogers ‏@ESPNChiCubs 7m7 minutes ago Consensus in Cubs locker room re LaRoche is basically players should have been allowed to police the situation
  12. How dumb are these people to not realize players complained? Jesse Rogers ‏@ESPNChiCubs 7m7 minutes ago Consensus in Cubs locker room re LaRoche is basically players should have been allowed to police the situation
  13. QUOTE (Condor13 @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 07:19 PM) That might help. I have never been a fan of KW and stuff like this make me want him gone so much. I know I may be in the minority or on my own but KW needs to be a VP and leave other jobs to the people that have been hired to do them. He is NOT the manager or GM but act like he is. Who would you rather the players hate, KW or Ventura?
  14. It was easy to figure out some of the players complained, because if the Sox thought changing the clubhouse policy could get him to quit, they would have done it in November. This is the same guy they tried to pay 8 million dollars to go away.
  15. QUOTE (Condor13 @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 07:02 PM) I go back to what I said yesterday. KW looks like a complete *** and is destroying this teams chemistry. I mean what other organization would let a VP destroy **** the way KW has done. The players apparently we're all opposed to KW, and Sale (your damn prized possession) was so furious with KW that he told him to get the **** out of the locker room and stat out. Sale is right, KW is the VP but thinks he is the Manger and the GM. Stay the **** out of the locker room cause all he has manged to do is **** things up year after year. He might have even cost the sox a future with sale as thir ace. KW has to ******* go and now!!! Rant over. If everything we hear is true, KW showed the most leadership of anyone over the last week.
  16. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 07:00 PM) You still don't get it. When an employee is bad at his job (LaRoche) and he's getting paid a huge sum of money management has every right to look for causes of the suckiness. If, in their opinion, LaRoche wasn't dedicated enough to his job by the presence of his kid then why can't management ask to curtail the kids presence ? If Abreu, LaRoche or whoever can perform their job well despite distractions why would management ask them to change anything ? Just because no one dare speak that performance is a factor in determining these things doesn't mean it isn't. The Jeff Passan article did say team execs thought they weren't focused last year
  17. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 07:58 PM) Why can't Rollins explain to Sale and any other player who had a problem with what went down, why it was good that it went down? Who said he didn't? Maybe Sale and others knew there were complaints and disagreed
  18. QUOTE (flavum @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 06:56 PM) Tomorrow pre and post should be fun. yeesh. Surprised Hahn declined to comment today
  19. QUOTE (Baron @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 06:53 PM) Bernstein is saying now that Kenny approached Adam first to try and hint that some players would like it if he wasnt around as much. Trying to slowly move him towards cutting it down. Then when he didnt do that Kenny put his foot down. Fits everything we've heard. #TeamLast
  20. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 06:53 PM) If Jimmy Rollins went to KW and moaned, and then said this http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseb...0315-story.html he is not a leader. A leader would cop to what he did and explain it to everyone. Why in the world would he say that when the story hadn't broken yet? Everything he said was justified in this situation, even if he was the one who said something.
  21. QUOTE (Baron @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 07:41 PM) Yeah they just repeated that report on 670 the score. Some well respected guys went to Kenny. They didnt name Rollins but it's obvious he was one. It basically is the same as bringing in outside consultants to your company and asking them for their recommendations. Hopefully Sale and company come to respect the opinion that Rollins and others had.
  22. One thing I don't like hearing is Hahn and Ventura disagreed with Kenny's approach. Before anything was said, JR should have made sure it was a united front.
  23. QUOTE (Black_Jack29 @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 06:28 PM) So does this make LaRoche the worst ever FA signing by the Sox? Yes, HORRIBLE last season and potentially a worse impact this season.
  24. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 06:25 PM) Spiegel said this is a case of veteran players seeing the way it's been done in winning clubhouses and putting a stop to it. Then Bernstein said " Does Jimmy Rollins really think it's worth it though"? and Spiegel kind of just like laughed because Bernstein gave up the name. Wow, good for Rollins. Hahn has his work cut out for him right now.
  25. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 06:13 PM) Bernstein and Spiegel basically just confirmed that a group of players led by Jimmy Rollins went to management. I understand Sale wanting to police their own room but they've done a poor job of doing that to this point and their manager doesn't do it. This is a case of new veteran players coming in and deciding that this had to stop. They specifically said Rollins?
