  1. Daryl Van Schouwen ‏@CST_soxvan 2m2 minutes ago Chris Sale said players want to hear from #whitesox chairman Jerry Reinsdorf.
  2. QUOTE (Tony @ Mar 18, 2016 -> 04:10 PM) Right or wrong, no matter if you agree with the decision by management on LaRoche, this was completely mishandled. Yeah, can't remember last time an organization had such a bad issue like this. I'm shocked Reinsdorf has been quiet.
  3. I'm sure it's a coincidence, but Eaton's not in the lineup today
  4. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Mar 18, 2016 -> 04:08 PM) Just took a glance at Eaton's Twitter and it seems all his tests from yesterday are gone. I didn't think he had any tweets yesterday
  5. Dan Hayes ‏@CSNHayes 2m2 minutes ago Chris Sale said this won't affect how he plays. But he said this is a big issue affecting the team. #WhiteSox
  6. Bob Nightengale ‏@BNightengale 34s34 seconds ago Player rep Adam Eaton said Adam LaRoche had clause in contract to allow son and players union now involved #whitesox
  7. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Mar 18, 2016 -> 04:06 PM) To that, I 100% agree. Which creates even more issues in the clubhouse.
  8. Next thing we'll hear is Sale saying if players had an issue, they should have addressed it and not gone to Kenny
  9. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Mar 18, 2016 -> 04:00 PM) To what is Sale referring twhen he said they were lied to? Quick guess is KW told the clubhouse LaRoche didn't have an agreement with the club prior to signing a contract about Drake's access
  10. Bill ShaikinVerified account ‏@BillShaikin 3m3 minutes ago Chris Sale: "This isn't us rebelling against rules. This is us rebelling against BS."
  11. QUOTE (Black_Jack29 @ Mar 18, 2016 -> 03:56 PM) So is Sale looking to get traded now? Wouldn't shock me. Get Dombrowski on the phone
  12. oh good lord....definitely getting worse Bob Nightengale ‏@BNightengale 11s12 seconds ago Chris Sale: We got bold faced lied to. #WhiteSox
  13. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Mar 18, 2016 -> 04:52 PM) For all that we've heard from Eaton and Sale in the last two weeks, I don't think we head that cumulative amount from David Robertson, for example, who was brought in largely to bring a little of that Yankee swagger and veteran leadership with him...ironically, one of the same reasons LaRoche was added to that mix in the first place, along with Cabrera and Duke. It's almost like every possible move last offseason in terms of the clubhouse chemistry backfired even more "off the field" with this Drake issue and also pouting Shark/Cooper feud. Bonifacio and Beckham were busts, Duke has joined the Sale/Eaton chorus and Cabrera acted like a clown for 2-3 months after he and Eaton got off to such terrible starts. Robertson was supposedly one of the main guys that got the team to not go through with the boycott
  14. QUOTE (TheTruth05 @ Mar 18, 2016 -> 03:42 PM) This is honestly the 2nd most annoying thing about this. You say you're the main guy and one of the bigger stories about the White Sox in years and not a peep. Unreal. Sox mgmt completely botched yesterday.
  15. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Mar 18, 2016 -> 03:41 PM) I guess I just don't understand Sale's motivation for taking a stand against KW and/or the Sox as an organization because of this debacle. LaRoche might be a good guy and his friend, but Sale has stated numerous times that he would do anything to win. Having LaRoche on the team would only hinder those chances. I guess I'm missing something, but bringing back LaRoche at this point doesn't help Sale or the Sox at all in regards to staying competitive and winning. I'm sure a lot of these guys don't like to admit when a player has lost their ability
  16. Drake did sign a jersey for him, so I actually would have been more surprised if he didn't have it up in his locker.
  17. QUOTE (shysocks @ Mar 18, 2016 -> 03:38 PM) I agree that LaRoche did not want this to leak but his silence has been deafening. He could have released a statement to calm things down a long time ago. Something like, "We had a disagreement, I chose to go my separate ways, I respect the organization and my ex-teammates." That's it. Even if he doesn't respect the organization, that's what people do. Instead all we have are the piles and piles of retweets coming from his meat company. And if you think that twitter feed doesn't represent his voice you are kidding yourself. He's absolutely making himself out to be a martyr
  18. QUOTE (Jose Paniagua @ Mar 18, 2016 -> 03:35 PM) Wish someone could indicate to Chris Sale that nobody died Just trade him before he blows his elbow out. Haven't won crap with him here anyways.
  19. Another thing to come out of this story is that by all accounts, the clubhouse chemistry sucked last year. Then you have someone like Tom Shear say players were frustrated by it last season as well. To me, I honestly think this has less to do with the kid and more to do with the belief that LaRoche isn't as focused on baseball as he needs to be.
  20. And as a teammate, if LaRoche is told that it might be distracting to some of his peers, wouldn't he want to try and figure out a compromise if he was really interested in trying to win this season?
  21. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Mar 18, 2016 -> 03:13 PM) You of all posters would have a totally opposite opinion if this made a player who has been productive walk away. Sale was sticking up for his teammate. In the clubhouse, which supposedly "belongs" to the players. With all complaining you have done about LaRoche, why do you have to be derogatory towards him for quitting? You should be thrilled. Purely as a baseball move, I'm thrilled. As a potential chemistry issue for this season, I'm concerned. If he retired Tuesday and nothing else was ever said about this, that would have been fantastic. Also, I don't think a productive player would have walked away. He hated playing last year and maybe this situation made the choice easy for him.
  22. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Mar 18, 2016 -> 03:50 PM) So every out he has recorded has been a K? And all 17 balls he let in play fell for hits? Yep, it's false
  23. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Mar 18, 2016 -> 04:07 PM) That's quite an assumption. How do you know it wasn't a White Sox player or coach or manager or executive? Say what you want, but Adam LaRoche himself has been pretty quiet. I'm sure his family and close friends probably wanted to know why he retired and he told them. I don't see where that would be a crime. Nothing in this whole thing is a crime or anyone doing anything wrong to the other person. That's why this whole thing is so freaking stupid. LaRoche was stubborn for quitting and Sale needs to worry more about not letting the Twins make him look like Jim Parque.
  24. QUOTE (Tony @ Mar 18, 2016 -> 03:05 PM) The Sox don't have a new management structure. They knew 100% leaks would happen and the story would get out. You have to know that. They should have been prepared for that happening. The quotes from Eaton made things a lot worse, and when more leaks started to surface, as of today no one in that locker room has stepped up and said they aren't true. So to me, there is some blame there. Yeah, the whole thing sucks. It's annoying hearing everyone on the Score talk about how this would never happen in the Cubs clubhouse....but I'm sure they're right. One thing I don't think I've said is that I have a ton of respect for KW for not losing his cool if Sale was verbally attacking him. That could have made things wayyyyyyyyyyy uglier.
  25. QUOTE (iamshack @ Mar 18, 2016 -> 04:02 PM) You raise a good point...but what does Kenny do when the team disagrees with management's decision on the matter? You can't muzzle anyone. All you can do is get rid of them. Do you start looking to move some of the vocal players who don't adhere to the organization's messaging? I hope Eaton is renting, not buying.
