  1. Farmer said he was talking with Ventura today and Ventura was going on and on about how good Trayce has been
  2. Pirates just have to win 2 of 3 this weekend at worst to clinch hosting the WC game. The Reds have lost 11 in a row now.
  3. QUOTE (3GamesToLove @ Oct 1, 2015 -> 01:02 AM) The mainstream media is really counting Kershaw out of the Cy Young conversation? Heard Chris Singleton say Arrieta does more in bigger games. I guess Kershaw doing it to clinch the division was an unimportant game.
  4. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Sep 30, 2015 -> 09:08 PM) Presume this is a shot at some of our other outfielders too. Should be...Melky and Avi are horrendous out there. I would say a shot at all the fielders, especially since he supposedly hated Micah Johnson's defense earlier in the year.
  5. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 30, 2015 -> 06:58 PM) Matt Spiegel ‏@MattSpiegel670 3h3 hours ago Steve Stone just told us Trayce Thompson should play centerfield at the start of next season. Interesting, especially given how much DJ and Farmer seem to hate Eaton's defense this year. I know I've said it a few times, but it wouldn't shock me at all if Eaton is dealt this offseason.
  6. Dan Hayes ‏@CSNHayes 16h16 hours ago Jeff Samardzija praised Trayce Thompson's defense, said he should play every day even if "he hits .050."
  7. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Sep 30, 2015 -> 02:51 PM) So is the Southern League just a prospect haven right now? Anderson seems really low otherwise, although being a AA league it might be justified. Spencer Adams seems very, very low for low A. Outside of Anderson a few times, this year had a significant lack of Sox players showing up on the BA Hot Sheet. To me, there is a gigantic gap between Anderson, Fulmer and Adams and the rest of the prospects.
  8. Trayce showing up as 1.0 for defensive WAR now. Was negative 2 last week
  9. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Sep 30, 2015 -> 02:40 PM) That'd be great, but I'd settle for him being an average MLB OF offensively to go along with his much better than average defensive abilities. How about just a positive WAR player

    The Grinder was very enjoyable
  11. QUOTE (beautox @ Sep 30, 2015 -> 02:45 AM) nice game overall for Thompson, should've had an extra base hit but cain's gonna cain. Sure seems like he's won himself a starting spot for next year
  12. Wasn't that pitch right down the middle to Trayce
  13. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 30, 2015 -> 03:15 AM) That might have been the best defensive play by a southsider this year. That and Avi's robbery vs Orioles
  14. QUOTE (scs787 @ Sep 29, 2015 -> 10:36 PM) Know who else is good under pressure(71% of his passes completed)? And PFF(Since you're using them) had ranked ahead of Jared Goff in their top 10 players returning to the Pac 12?....Cody Kessler. I like Kessler, but seems like he doesn't have to make a lot of tough throws. USC spreads the field so efficiently, and he has receivers with insane speed getting open.
  15. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 29, 2015 -> 10:12 PM) Somehow the Sox took three straight at Kauffman vs. KC the last time out. Would be crazy if Sox swept 'em again. KC has no momentum rightnow for the playoffs. Team is embedded in its first real funk. Sox have cured them and other central teams before. That wouldn't be good from a draft/slot allowance perspective. With Rodon not pitching the rest of the way, I'm cool with the Sox losing every game the rest of the way 9-8 with Sale and Q staying healthy and Abreu/Eaton/Trayce/Sanchez/Avi hitting well.
  16. QUOTE (Knackattack @ Sep 29, 2015 -> 08:58 PM) Sad with the amount of Sanchez we've been seeing over the final week and a half. You already know what he is, why not run Micah out there Maybe they want to avoid more injuries with Micah this year and giving him only a few spot starts going forward. No problem with Sanchez getting more at bats, as he's the likely starter at 2nd next year.
  17. I keep hearing "experts" on the radio suggest the Bears should be competitive by the end of next year due to how the NFL is designed to help bad teams become good quickly. To me (and my pessimistic ways), sure seems like it will be a 3 year rebuild given the absolutely lack of building blocks on this team outside of Kyle Long and possibly Kevin White.
  18. QUOTE (shysocks @ Sep 29, 2015 -> 08:27 PM) If Phegley ever has another year half as good as this one I'll eat my hat. Semien is still the only guy I'll miss from that deal - and I'll miss him plenty. Semien is a solid player, but if he's the best you give up in a trade for a possible top pitcher, then it's a deal you have to make. I see no reason why Anderson can't be a better SS than Semien. God knows I'm not the biggest Samardzija fan, but I think all of us were fine with who the Sox gave up at the time. Just too bad Samardzija flopped.
  19. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Sep 28, 2015 -> 02:22 PM) I haven't seen a truly dominant team yet. I think any of these teams could end up in the playoff: Ohio St, Michigan St, Mississippi, Georgia, LSU, Alabama, Clemson, Utah, UCLA, USC, Baylor, Oklahoma, Notre Dame. If Michigan finds a way to win out, they'll make the playoff. That Utah game quickly turned into one of the most "forgivable" losses.
  20. With how bad so many bullpens are, how did the Cubs get F. Rodney for nothing? Another career AL player now making it look easy in the NL
  21. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Sep 29, 2015 -> 02:44 AM) So is there a legit super stud QB coming out next year? Like an Andrew Luck? I don't follow the college game. Not even close IMO
  22. Horrible collision in Cards game. Piscotty looks seriously injured.
  23. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Sep 28, 2015 -> 06:18 PM) How dare you. I enjoyed the first one, but the sequel was unwatchable
  24. Pitch Perfect 2 was freaking awful
