  1. QUOTE (bmags @ Sep 17, 2015 -> 08:40 PM) From following on Soxtalk I'm under the impression that Olt misthrew a ball so badly it ended in the concourse somehow. I'm sure that's accurate. Great post! Amazing how much Olt getting at bats seems to upset people.
  2. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 17, 2015 -> 08:38 PM) He is always grimacing. I know he had some back issues as well. He seems to be able to run straight lines fine, but watching him in between pitches in the OF last night, it seems he was always trying to get stretched out, and did a lot of walking around. I don't think he's fully healthy. Might be time to shut him down if his knee/back is hurting him. He looks horrendous at the plate. I honestly feel he's playing himself out of the team's plans going forward.
  3. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 17, 2015 -> 08:34 PM) Ever since he hurt his knee a couple of months ago, Avi seems to be in constant pain. Whenever he runs out a ball to first, he looks like he's about to have his knee go out.
  4. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 17, 2015 -> 07:14 PM) Olt apparently just went to the concourse according to Ed and DJ. Yep, looks like it landed right behind the last row of seats down the LF line.
  5. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Sep 17, 2015 -> 07:24 PM) This series just reinforces the idea to me that the race for homefield in the Wildcard game doesn't really matter. If this score holds the Cubs will have taken 3 out of 4 in Pittsburgh. Really doesn't look like it's going to matter whether the game is played in Wrigley or PNC at this point. I'd give the Cubs a slight edge either way. Well yeah, Arrieta going gives them an edge
  6. How's Clayton Richard actually performing well? Another under the radar acquisition that worked out quite well for the Cubs.
  7. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Sep 17, 2015 -> 05:18 PM) I agree, go look at what Cubs fans are saying on ProSportsDaily forum. A clean slide does not include a foot knee the opposing player's knee.... Coghlan killed Iwamura's knee on a similar play years ago
  8. Better idea with Avi is to try and find a GM that still believes in his talent and do a talented, but unproductive player swap.
  9. That looked like a drop kick to Kang's leg. Cubs media already out in full force saying it was 100% clean.
  10. QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ Sep 17, 2015 -> 04:58 PM) I know this isn't hockey (or the Bears), but there has to be something more to McCutchen "resting" today. doesn't sound like it. They have a tough series against the Dodgers coming up, and probably figure they need McCutchen in the lineup more to face Greinke and Kershaw than today. For as great as he is, McCutchen moves around like a 40-year old some games.
  11. Looks like Kang just got seriously injured (knee) on a hard, very high slide by Coghlan. He's probably their 2nd or 3rd best hitter. Have a feeling Coghlan is getting one in the back in his next AB.
  12. According to Pirates announcers, NY ruled that cause Bryant was even with the bag, the catcher doesn't necessarily have time to not block the plate. Maybe dumbest thing I have ever heard
  13. QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Sep 17, 2015 -> 02:10 AM) I'm watching Arietta trying to bag his 20th. Maddon's going to let him earn it. Strangest inning I've seen. Now tied. Awful call on the non-block at home
  14. Horrible replay call in Cubs game. Montero clearly blocking the plate.
  15. I'm shocked Chuck said Arrieta is his pick for Cy Young
  16. QUOTE (DaveBrown85 @ Sep 17, 2015 -> 12:38 AM) Well im rooting hard that Jake Arrieta gets rocked tonight. Me three....suck he's just so damn good right now.
  17. QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Sep 17, 2015 -> 01:39 AM) Johnson got away with a hanger there, only a deep out. I'm not impressed with his command tonight either. He has very little command, especially with breaking pitches. At least his velocity is back.
  18. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Sep 16, 2015 -> 11:04 PM) Huge sigh of relief for Illini nation, the drought is over!!! Is he any good? Super low rankings on 247, but saw a tweet saying he's 4 star. Also, this mean no C. Moore for them?
  19. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Sep 16, 2015 -> 10:44 PM) Glad ill be at the game so I can miss Swirsky. At least we get to hear 1,000 questions to Stone during the game.
  20. QUOTE (flavum @ Sep 16, 2015 -> 10:16 PM) Swirsky in for Hawk. Nothing like a diehard Cubs fan announcing the Sox game.
  21. Eaton looked like me the first time playing a baseball video game and not knowing how to stop the runner from going
  22. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Sep 16, 2015 -> 03:28 AM) Watching alexei pitch is a lot of fun. One of the best moments of the season. Hilarious reactions by him.
