  1. Giving up Q for Cargo would be terrible
  2. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Dec 12, 2015 -> 04:27 AM) Sure he'd be a nice pick up. But for goodness sakes not for our #2 prospect. That he's blocked is supposed to lower the price, not raise it. Not only that, but the Sox also need to be careful with their pitching depth going forward. They will have one spot open after this year and the hope has to be it will be for Fulmer. Danish fading last year hurt, but it was offset by EJohnson gaining steam.
  3. So Cuddyer retires after being in a similar situation as LaRoche. Just our luck
  4. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Dec 12, 2015 -> 03:42 AM) Thought this was going to be their first loss. Unbelievable. Amazing they won with how bad they played in the 4th quarter and the OTs. Have to think they lose tomorrow
  5. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Dec 12, 2015 -> 01:39 AM) Those were two bad teams trying to get better, this is a really good team who has gotten a lot better. They're obviously not guaranteed anything but they're absolutely one of, if not the favorite to win it all going into the season. Yep they basically paid a lot of money for complimentary players for their roster, which makes sense.
  6. Finally had chance to listen to the Score today. Literally first thing I heard was Boers saying Sox fans should jump on the Cubs bandwagon. Ever since it became obvious the Cubs were jumping to the Score, it seems all their hosts have just become massive hypocrites and homers. I really can't see any reason to listen to that station again.
  7. QUOTE (Alexeihyeess @ Dec 11, 2015 -> 09:11 PM) Griffey made one play that keeps far away from this list. +1
  8. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Dec 11, 2015 -> 04:33 PM) Erstad in 2007 was one of the worst players I've ever seen and no stats will convince me otherwise. Remember Hawk FREAKING OUT when he twisted his ankle on a swing? Pretty sure Hawk went to the clubhouse to see what was wrong.
  9. QUOTE (Knackattack @ Dec 11, 2015 -> 07:44 PM) I think the best thing about Trayce's appearance up here was his eye at the plate. From what I saw he really was either a tremendous guesser or he could just see the ball better than almost anyone on our club. Couldn't agree more with you about his approach at the plate. Seemed he didn't get himself out for a large portion of his at bats. That's a huge difference between him and Avi. Towards the end of the year, Trayce seemed to struggle a bit with change-ups. There is really no doubt in my mind that Trayce would put up a higher WAR than Avi would for a full season.
  10. Eaton has a good arm, he just takes too damn long to throw the ball. Avi actually did a great job last year of getting rid of the ball quickly.
  11. QUOTE (ptatc @ Dec 11, 2015 -> 08:38 PM) Don't get me wrong, I have season tickets and will always go to games. I've just become more pessimistic that just winning will ever bring the sox to the cubs levels for interest. They'll never compete with the Cubs for fan interest, as the Cubs have the "outside of Chicago suburbs" market in hand. Sox just have to win enough to draw a decent enough amount to be able to have a solid payroll.
  12. QUOTE (ptatc @ Dec 11, 2015 -> 09:33 PM) The sox spend in free agency. Robertson and cabrera just last year. Internationally they've done pretty well with Rameirez and abreu recently. I've never really understood what the neighborhood has to do with watching a baseball game. My point all along is that the attendance wont challenge the cubs even with more playoff appearances. I just see more excuses in general from sox fans to not go. They just have to win. The fans were excited for last year, but that excitement quickly vanished with the slow start.
  13. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 11, 2015 -> 08:17 PM) I just murdered a kangaroo. you gotta be f***ing kidding me? runs? rbi? #facepalm. Chuck whatever the f*** his name is should be banished pete rose style for that garbage. a dynasty is forming and there's nothing anybody can do about it. Whole string of tweets makes more sense: Chuck Garfien ‏@ChuckGarfien 6m6 minutes ago Cubs fans don't be like Cardinals fans. You're better than that. Heyward will be great(again). Was just comparing some stats. Good day. Chuck Garfien Retweeted Luke Stuckmeyer I put it in the next tweet. Heyward is a great defender. Said it twice. Cubs fans so defensive. Chuck Garfien added, Luke Stuckmeyer @LukeStuckmeyer .@ChuckGarfien Heyward has a top 15 WAR. Seems you left that stat off. You've gone fishin' again Chuck Garfien ‏@ChuckGarfien 27m27 minutes ago Heyward is an elite defender. Had a 6.5 WAR in 2015. Eaton was 3.9. Heyward will be great for Cubs. Just not sure he's worth $180 million. Chuck Garfien ‏@ChuckGarfien 32m32 minutes ago Jayson Heyward in 2015: 79 runs/13 HR/60 RBI/.293 BA/.359 OBP/.797 OPS Adam Eaton in 2015: 98 runs/14 HR/56 RBI/.287 BA/.361 OBP/.792 OPS Chuck Garfien ‏@ChuckGarfien 33m33 minutes ago Jason Heyward is a great signing for the Cubs. No doubt. But as pointed out to me by @_TBOZ, he has an interesting White Sox comp...
  14. QUOTE (knightni @ Dec 11, 2015 -> 09:24 PM) You'd think so, but Heyward hasn't really repeated his 2010/2012 seasons in recent years. We'll see, I guess. About 40% of Heyward's homers have gone to RF in his career. Down the lines at Wrigley isn't the easiest place to hit homers, especially for a line drive hitter like him.
  15. QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ Dec 11, 2015 -> 09:21 PM) I don't think Eaton is sniffing nearing Heyward in HR totals going forward. At the same time, Heyward's stolen bases totals will diminish now that he doesn't get to face Lester 6 times
  16. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 11, 2015 -> 09:17 PM) I just murdered a kangaroo. you gotta be f***ing kidding me? runs? rbi? #facepalm. Chuck whatever the f*** his name is should be banished pete rose style for that garbage. a dynasty is forming and there's nothing anybody can do about it. No one is saying Eaton is better overall than Heyward. If anything, I think it's just people pointing out that they were extremely similar offensive players last year.
  17. QUOTE (Baron @ Dec 11, 2015 -> 09:12 PM) Well the Dodgers need to do something. So do the Cardinals. Chapman screwing up really put them in a bind. Dodgers will get Cueto and McGee likely Still think the Cardinals get Gordon, Chen and Buehrle
  18. QUOTE (TheTruth05 @ Dec 11, 2015 -> 09:09 PM) NLCS of Cubs-Diamondbacks if Arrieta's arm doesn't fall off. Diamondbacks are so overrated. No way Greinke repeats how he performed last year, especially in that park. Miller seems like a horrible fit for that park as well.
  19. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Dec 11, 2015 -> 09:00 PM) The NL will be much tougher next year. It's so much more top heavy than the AL is. Half the teams in the NL are trying, the other half have no chance of winning 70 games. In the AL, some of the worst teams have the most talented players in baseball (Seattle, CWS, Boston)
  20. Two opt-outs in the deal, including one after year 3
  21. QUOTE (Baron @ Dec 11, 2015 -> 08:25 PM) and you'll be the only one. Congrats. If Heyward is making 4 times what Eaton is making, I'll take Eaton
  22. My hope is that the sports store at the local mall has more Sox jerseys than those of Flowers, Viciedo, Dunn and Abreu
  23. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Dec 11, 2015 -> 07:16 PM) I think Hayward's defensive value decreases with his move to the Cubs. Wrigely doesn't have a lot of real estate in the outfield, which limits some of Heyward's defensive upside. That said @ 23M a year, I can't argue this deal one bit from the Cubs perspective. They have a nice window and they are Didn't the Cubs also set a MLB record for strikeouts in a season by their pitching?
  24. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Dec 11, 2015 -> 07:10 PM) f*** we need to sign someone. If they get a big bat, it would be a trade I truly believe (Cargo and Frazier the top two candidates)
  25. If he really only got 184 for 8 years like what's being rumored, then that should help the Sox chances if they want to go after Upton, etc.
