White Sox acquire Brett Lawrie
QUOTE (SCCWS @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 11:23 PM) His defense( or lack there of) will certainly bring an edge to the pitchers. I really think it was just an off year for him defensively. I've always thought the left side of the infield is tough to play at Oakland...or maybe that's just watching Jose Valentin for far too long.

QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 10:21 PM) So we've only heard Sox and Indians. Anyone else? Rangers for LF

Todd Frazier Available
Buster Olney @Buster_ESPN 15m15 minutes ago Official on Reds' efforts to move Todd Frazier: "I wouldn't be surprised if he got traded." At this point, not enough traction in CLE talks. To me, it seems like the Indians could put together a much stronger package with Salazar leading the way.

There are going to be some grumpy people on here if nothing gets done before the meetings end.

White Sox acquire Brett Lawrie
QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 09:48 PM) I know the market is thin but I kind of don't want Lawrie and a small part of me is hoping that the trade falls through. I just want a roster shakeup. Not that interested in watching the 2015 Sox take the field in 2016. If a diehard like myself isn't intrigued, then no way the casual fan will be.

Pirates trade 2B Neil Walker to Mets for P John Niese
I really hope the Pirates trade Morton or Locke for Mitch Moreland. He'd be a great fit at 1B for them.

White Sox acquire Brett Lawrie
Wonder if David Murphy for 3rd base starts to become an option with Walker going to the Mets?

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 09:37 PM) I just hope we don't get the yearly quote from KW about the huge game changer that was so close. Well, we know he'll be blamed and not Hahn

White Sox acquire Brett Lawrie
QUOTE (Baron @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 09:23 PM) I can just see it now...miss out on Lawrie...then sign Cabrera to play 3rd It will be interesting if Indians get Lawrie for a very reasonable package

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 09:20 PM) The problem is the White Sox don't want to give up their best prospects so Frazier won't be a White Sox. At some point, assuming he just doesn't fall apart, some team will give Cincinatti Tim Anderson's equal or better. The White Sox really aren't in a position to do that. I like Anderson as a prospect more than most, but he's not a "can't miss" type guy. If he has that much value right now, I don't mind cashing him in.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 10:10 PM) This is the A's now putting pressure on the Sox to close the deal (as they also want to move on and thus are going to tell Sox...put up or shut up..we have other offers and aren't going to keep waiting while you see if you can pull Frazier). Or maybe now the Indians are back in on him after not getting Frazier?

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 10:07 PM) If he can't field, there isn't much reason to have faith in him. Another version fixed for you

QUOTE (glangon @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 10:04 PM) Davidson, Avi and Webb. Get it done. Looks like 3 members of the 2019 Newark Bears

QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 09:05 PM) For Frazier and Phillips, I would be ok with.... Anderson, Danish, Davidson, and Micah. I would hate to lose Micah, because I like him as a person and I LOVE his athleticism and skill, but we wouldn't have a spot for him, his defense is still suspect, and I feel like the Reds would love the idea of Billy Hamilton and Micah Johnson in the same lineup. That's an unbelievably amount of speed. Just seems like the organization lost all faith in Johnson.

QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 09:04 PM) Eh, I think that's a pretty steep price. If Cozart was in the deal as well to play SS, I might be fine with that. I don't know, that's a lot. Yeah, that's the extent I'd be comfortable, and realize it's an overpay. Sadly, everything seems to be an overpay now.

QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 10:00 PM) For Frazier and Phillips or just Frazier? C. Trent Rosecrans @ctrent 4m4 minutes ago Word I’m hearing is #Reds are shopping Frazier heavily. Makes most sense at this point Frazier

White Sox acquire Brett Lawrie
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 09:27 PM) I've been wondering if part of the reasons for the impasses and these leaks are a combo of the Sox wanting the Reds to know they are close on something, so if they want to move Frazier at whatever the Sox price is, do it now or we will move in another direction. I'm also presuming A's want it out their to potentially see if other clubs want to swoop in. Maybe the Reds leaked the talk with the Indians to see if Hahn will increase his offer?

I would absolutely support an Anderson/Adams/M. Johnson deal

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 06:43 PM) You like that guy way too much. To me, it seems like too much of a risk for the Cubs to get him. It's not like they need more offense.

Teahen was the main guy the Sox got where everyone thought he'd hit for more power

QUOTE (Frank_Thomas35 @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 05:42 PM) The questions is if you had your choice if we do land Lawrie would you rather Sign Upton, Sign Cespedes, Sign Gordon, or trade for Cargo? (Not going to include J Hey cause there is no chance) Personally I would be ecstatic if we traded for Lawrie to play 2B, sign the Japenese 3B, and sign J up. Although my ultimate pipe dream is landing Puig. Heck no to trading Cargo. Give me Upton

QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 05:24 PM) Kenny williams gives zero f***s about prospects. If he wants someone he will burn it all down for them. Well, the good news about having a mediocre farm system is it never hurts too much when you get rid of someone. I can't believe how some seem upset about the possibility of losing someone like Beck, etc. Nice arm, but every organization has a few guys like that.
