Jeff Samardjiza signs with SF Giants, 5/90.
Sounds like Cubs might be going the hardest after Lackey. I don't think that would be a great fit for them.

QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 4, 2015 -> 07:14 PM) Four letter first and last-names have done well on sox, fyi. Jose Abreu, Joey Cora. Good sign, imo. Should have signed Paul Bako instead of Avila

White Sox Interested in SP Ivan Nova
QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 4, 2015 -> 07:08 PM) If like, Jason Coats could land us Nova, wouldn't you do it? Yep, and then get the best deal for Erik Johnson if you hold on to Q.

White Sox Interested in SP Ivan Nova
QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Dec 4, 2015 -> 07:49 PM) That article doesn't even say that the White Sox are interested. Just that they have been in the past. It's all speculative. Interesting that it says Sox were interested in Chavez

White Sox Interested in SP Ivan Nova
QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Dec 4, 2015 -> 06:44 PM) He's still not better than anybody in the rotation currently, imo. If they trade for him, likely means Q or Johnson is gone

Who Do You Want at 3rd Next Season?
QUOTE (Baron @ Dec 4, 2015 -> 01:52 AM) I'm hoping for Frazier Thing is, if you go all out and trade the farm for Frazier, then you better be willing to spend on more upgrades as well. It makes no sense to have Sale/Q/Abreu/Frazier the next two years if you're surrounding them with junk (outside of Eaton and Rodon).

Who Do You Want at 3rd Next Season?
QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Dec 4, 2015 -> 12:49 AM) I'm on the Lawrie bandwagon right now. Took a little bit but I'm on it pending the cost. Ideally, I'd love to see the Sox get away with trading Sanchez/Danish for him and giving Johnson the chance to play 2nd base. That would be the best chance at possible difference makers on the infield for the future.

Who Do You Want at 3rd Next Season?
QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Dec 4, 2015 -> 01:46 AM) I have that same feeling. I'd much rather take a chance on Lawrie remembering how to field again. He had been a strong defensive player until last year. It just seemed like him and Semien were in such a funk defensively.

Who Do You Want at 3rd Next Season?
QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Dec 4, 2015 -> 01:40 AM) That would anger me so much. Not only is he pretty mediocre, but I also feel like he's Crede-esque in terms of consistently being banged up.

Who Do You Want at 3rd Next Season?
My prediction is Freese on a 3 year deal...and it won't go well.

QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Dec 4, 2015 -> 01:32 AM) CarGo can hit outside of Coors. Sit down with that nonsense And will cost way more than most project on here.

Jacob Turner Re-signs with White Sox
QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Dec 3, 2015 -> 05:47 PM) He was projected to make $1 million in arb so I don't understand this. Common theme seems to be that arb projections are way too low

NCAA basketball 2015-16 thread
QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Dec 3, 2015 -> 03:54 AM) But they still suck. No offensive threat at the PG spot. They play 4 on 5. Unless they hit shoits like in the first half they have no chance Not sure how Groce survives another for another season.

White Sox decline to tender Tyler Flowers and Jacob Turner
QUOTE (daggins @ Dec 3, 2015 -> 03:52 AM) Dan Hayes @CSNHayes Right after Tyler Flowers was non-tendered, scout: "He should tell them thank you. Bet he gets more than his arb raise in this market." This is the main reason that it makes no sense. Chances are excellent that the guy they replace Flowers with is either worse or similarly bad. They clearly are looking for more offense from the catching position. Sounds good to me

White Sox decline to tender Tyler Flowers and Jacob Turner
Or who knows, maybe they didn't like how he called games when Sale pitched

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Dec 3, 2015 -> 03:49 AM) I hope it's just conditioning I'm sure you have watched him more than me, but from my POV it seems he has no idea how to play without fouling

I thought Leron Black would be so much better. That injury has made him pretty worthless

White Sox decline to tender Tyler Flowers and Jacob Turner
I would be very nervous about getting Lucroy after his head injury last year

Hahn says another catcher is ready to be added.
Mesoraco is a good hitter, but he would cost a ton

White Sox decline to tender Tyler Flowers and Jacob Turner
QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Dec 3, 2015 -> 02:30 AM) Sale loved throwing to Flowers, wonder how he feels about this Based on how he performed last year, I think a new personal catcher might help

White Sox decline to tender Tyler Flowers and Jacob Turner
Pretty happy with this, as I won't miss watching Flowers go weeks without making good contact. With that said, the plan seems to be to go for it instead of trading guys away
