  1. I guess Jennings is a long reliever now?
  2. It's really too bad they didn't try to get Grandal this offseason.
  3. Tough inning here for Jennings
  4. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ May 7, 2015 -> 09:19 PM) Why even let flowers bat there I'm ok with it there, might as well hope he runs into one and helps take the lead. It's not like there's any power on this horribly designed bench.
  5. Below .500 OPS from our catchers combined with horrible defense.
  6. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ May 7, 2015 -> 09:15 PM) At some point this team needs to figure out how to hit guys like Tommy Millone. Gonna need to shake up the lineup for that. Maybe move Beckham to the 2nd spot.
  7. Alexei might as well homer this inning
  8. QUOTE (Alexeihyeess @ May 7, 2015 -> 07:38 PM) Everyone, except for the Cardinals a few years ago, feels this way. Especially when there's not many HR's. That's because the double that scores the runs winds up on 2nd and the inning eventually has to end. It's natural, the Sox have had plenty of hits in big situations but if the ball's not leaving the park eventually runners are going to be stranded. Just looked it up, Sox are tied with Giants for fewest amount of extra base hits with RISP (7 doubles, 1 triple, 4 homers)
  9. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ May 7, 2015 -> 08:02 PM) 2 hits.... They really have to make a decision on what to do with Bonifacio. He was specifically brought in to face LHP.
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ May 7, 2015 -> 08:00 PM) Anyone know how to find out Cabrera's GO/FO ratio as a righty? Found the answer, nearly 2.25 ground balls per fly ball with a line drive percentage around 7.5% vs LHP.
  11. Anyone know how to find out Cabrera's GO/FO ratio as a righty?
  12. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ May 7, 2015 -> 07:55 PM) Just tuned in. Quintana must be pitching decently, and I like my chances against the Tiger pen down only one run. Free Joba!
  13. This 8-9-1-2 is not very good vs LHP.
  14. QUOTE (Alexeihyeess @ May 7, 2015 -> 08:48 PM) Every time an opponent scores a run it does not require a player or coach to be fired, traded or released. Q pitched around it and did fine, let us calm ourselves. The team hasn't held runners on all year, and the defense makes multiple costly plays on nearly a daily basis. It's not like any of this is surprising.
  15. Sox success with bunting has to be like 10% this year
  16. QUOTE (Condor13 @ May 7, 2015 -> 07:43 PM) Sox need to trade Carlos Sanchez soon while his value is sky high to fix one 9f the many problems they have (3B, SS, C, SP) No one's going to give up much for someone that's a projected utility player. Right now, the biggest trade chip the Sox have (realistically) is Samardzija. I would say everyone else has minimal value or is struggling to the point their value isn't worth dealing them (Alexei)
  17. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 7, 2015 -> 07:41 PM) And there is an unearned, earned run. The defense, as well as the ability to hold runners, has been a joke this year. Such a lack of focus by so many players.
  18. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ May 7, 2015 -> 07:38 PM) of course they're gonna come back with a big inning. Can't walk Davis in front of their big guns
  19. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ May 7, 2015 -> 07:32 PM) Almost no "clutch" hitting . Avi and Melky last night being the exception. We always seem to be stranding 2 guys. Seems like very few extra base hits with guys on base (Melky homer last night excluded). Not just homers, but especially doubles.
  20. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ May 7, 2015 -> 08:31 PM) The one place ? To the SS or back to the pitcher would've been easy DP's too ? Regardless it wasn't the fly ball we needed . You hit to the big part of the field. I joked that a 5-4-3 TP was coming up, as we've seen him hit that same ball so often this year.
  21. Something that makes the offensive struggles even worse is that a majority of the runs the sox have scored lately were thanks in part to an error by the opposition or misplay (last night's big inning doesn't happen if Eaton's liner is caught)
  22. QUOTE (Alexeihyeess @ May 7, 2015 -> 08:28 PM) Its time for him to start batting 8th or 9th. If the middle order guys are starting to get it he cant be down there doing this, when he heats up bring him back but for now its brutal. He just has to stop pulling the ball like that in double play situations. Does he not realize the game plan the opposing pitcher has in that situation?
  23. QUOTE (shysocks @ May 7, 2015 -> 08:27 PM) I mean he just has no idea what he's doing. FFS. Really would have been nice if they could have cashed him in this offseason
  24. That inning's going to haunt the Sox this game.
  25. Another first pitch out by Alexei. He has no game plan at the plate at all. That was the one place you couldn't hit the ball there.
