2014-2015 NCAA football thread

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 6, 2014 -> 04:00 PM) Then again Winston hasn't exactly done anything that his reputation should be much better. Yep, nothing would surprise me with Winston. With that said, he's been horrible in the first half basically all season (ND, WF and NC St game, besides the L'ville game) -
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 4, 2014 -> 11:05 PM) Yup. Only way it doesn't happen is if some mystery team goes crazy and offers him like $200 million plus Wouldn't shock me if it's done quickly in the process, as they'll use him as a recruiter for other top free agents.

I have a feeling the Cubs are going to be "interested" in every top FA. With that said, they have a chance to be scary good in the next few years if they add the right pieces. http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/writer/jon-he...-russell-martin

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Nov 2, 2014 -> 05:14 PM) KSU is the only one of those three that can play with ND on a neutral field. MSU's offense is weak and TCU's defense is awful. Michigan State's offense is weak? 45.5 ppg, good for 5th in the country. They scored 15 more points against Purdue than ND did. I think Michigan St. is better than Kansas St. -

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Nov 2, 2014 -> 04:22 PM) TCU absolutely blows. They are a joke. They would be lucky to beat Illinois. If they win out, they will make it. They have the 2nd best resume of any 1 loss team (Auburn clearly the best) -
Finally watched Montas' outing tonight. His slider was really good. With that said, he definitely seems to be the closer of the future.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 2, 2014 -> 04:45 AM) Remember when Kenny "The Thrill" Hill beat them in Week 1 and was already better than Johnny Manziel? That was fun. After what I've seen from TAMU over the last month, it makes me think Manziel is one of the greatest college players of all time. -

QUOTE (zenryan @ Nov 2, 2014 -> 04:06 AM) ND catching the breaks in this 4th quarter. That Navy guy was open by 10 yards and would've coasted into the endzone. Two straight years of ND having no clue how to defend the option. Will be interesting to see if they improve in time for GT next year. -

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 2, 2014 -> 04:02 AM) That is just, wow. Half a yard from another season defining win, then boom. Game over, best receiver lost for the season most likely. Sucks to see it happen to the pride of Crete Monee -
Some twitter reports that Montas hit 101 tonight

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 2, 2014 -> 03:00 AM) I think you can take two of Auburn, Bama and Miss St interchangeably. Auburn's going to lose at Alabama in my opinion. Auburn's D is awful this season. -

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 2, 2014 -> 02:51 AM) They would need to have only one loss but it's going to be tight. Too many teams at the top play each other. Ole Miss is going to have a very tough time scoring going forward. If I had to guess right now, the final 4 will be Alabama, Miss St, Oregon and TCU -

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 2, 2014 -> 03:41 AM) When Bama beats Auburn and Miss st fire and brimstone will rain from the heavens. Still an easy path for two SEC West teams to make it. Alabama wins out, an Miss St. wins the Egg Bowl. Miss St. would still make it despite playing in SEC Championship -

Poor Treadwell....dislocated ankle while fumbling into the end zone for possible game winner. Auburn got away with a massive helmet to helmet after the fumble. -
Nice deal for Milwaukee. Should be fun seeing Estrada give up a ton of homers in the AL.
-
Taj with the worst 5 minute stretch he's had in years.
-
What is Taj doing out there? Stupid plays galore by him
-
Gasol is the one man momentum killer tonight. They are going to have to watch his minutes, as hopefully Taj is fine
-
Taj looks awesome, and I love watching McDermott play. With that said, Rose looks like he forgot how to shoot. His shot is incredibly flat right now.
-
I can't believe I have to watch Hinrich again this year. Also, what a terrible charge call on Rose.
-
QUOTE (raBBit @ Oct 30, 2014 -> 12:16 AM) Tim Anderson? For a year of Jeff Samardzija? I wouldn't be a fan of it, but considering they gave up a top 5 prospect to get him last year, it would make sense for them to try and replenish the SS depth in their system. If the Sox did a trade like this, I think they would extend Samardzija right away.
-
For some reason, I keep thinking Samardzija might be their main target this offseason. I'm not a fan, but could a deal look like Anderson, Beck and Viciedo for him?
-
QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Oct 29, 2014 -> 09:38 PM) Meh. Maddon is a good manager but managers just don't have a big impact on wins and losses. If their young talent plays to their potential, Ned Yost or Ozzie Guillen could lead them to the postseason. The main thing the Maddon hire will do is create even more buzz for their future, which was pretty high heading into the offseason. I also expect them to spend a ton this offseason, as they are huge favorites to sign Lester. Hopefully the Dodgers continue to field an All-Star team, while the Pirates and Cardinals continue to put competitive teams out on the field.
