  1. QUOTE (shysocks @ Apr 3, 2015 -> 06:50 PM) I got yer bullpen help RIGHT HERE. Jon Morosi ‏@jonmorosi 2m2 minutes ago Matt Lindstrom has signed with the #WhiteSox, source says. Ugh, he's done
  2. I like Avi batting behind Alexei because Alexei being in motion much more frequently than Abreu/LaRoche should open up some more holes on the infield for Avi.
  3. I wonder what the Cubs knew before getting a decent hitter in exchange for him? Jeff PassanVerified account ‏@JeffPassan Sources: Braves RHP Arodys Vizcaino suspended for 80 games for PEDs. Announcement expected sometime soon.
  4. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 2, 2015 -> 09:43 PM) ? Predicting a big falloff for him? Potentially slow start, and he's one of those guys that when he's going bad, just looks like he has no clue at the plate. I think in the end, he'll still put up solid numbers but won't be a major difference maker.
  5. QUOTE (Dunt @ Apr 2, 2015 -> 08:08 PM) I have to believe that the first round pick will be above Anderson, right? If a top 10 pick is immediately your third best prospect, your system is sitting pretty. I would doubt it given how horrible this draft is shaping up. Given the likelihood of call-ups for so many shortstop prospects to the majors this year, I'll be very disappointed if Anderson isn't a top 50 guy after the year.
  6. I'm not sure who will be more hated this year, LaRoche or Gillaspie. Both are going to be whipping boys, along with Danks.
  7. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 2, 2015 -> 09:27 PM) Drabek should not be on the roster. Send him down, and if someone claims him, oh well. He'll probably get a few mop-up innings the first couple of weeks, and then he'll be released if he struggles.
  8. QUOTE (Condor13 @ Apr 2, 2015 -> 08:02 PM) Make that 6 runs after 3 straight doubles Save us Rodon
  9. Quintana making this a long day for the team. 5 runs and counting in the 2nd.
  10. QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 2, 2015 -> 04:28 PM) Alexei batting 5th on Monday? Sure seems like it. I also think the lineup today signifies Johnson won the 2B competition
  11. Way too early prediction for Sox top 10 prospects at this time next year: 1- T. Anderson 2- S. Adams 3- first round draft pick 4- T. Danish 5- Trey M. 6- M. Adolfo 7- C. Hawkins 8- F. Montas 9- Jacob May 10- Jace Fry
  12. QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 2, 2015 -> 05:12 PM) Of all of what you mentioned, Robertson/Duke being horrible is what scares me most. It would be just so obvious and terrifying for long term. If Duke struggles, I would suggest the Sox never sign someone to a 3 year, 15 million dollar contract again
  13. I'm a little more nervous about the team heading into the season as usual, but I think that's cause I have higher expectations for the team than most years. I definitely feel like this is a huge year for the franchise in terms of bringing back some of the fan base that they lost, and that a slow start/mediocre season would really hurt.
  14. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Apr 1, 2015 -> 10:30 PM) I believe so, and it happened in Australia right? The shutout/homer must have been 2 years ago vs Giants. They did open up in Australia last year, but I think he was hurt.
  15. Avi with a homer, Micah with a very long double to center
  16. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Apr 1, 2015 -> 09:19 PM) Kershaw had an ERA over 6 last spring. Wasn't last year the opening day in which he homered and threw a shutout?
  17. walk and homer allowed by Robertson. His command has been brutal this spring.
  18. Clearly, CSINAA
  19. QUOTE (Baron @ Apr 1, 2015 -> 10:02 PM) You know I think it was also fathom who at this point last year was saying the samething about Jose that he's saying about Jeff. It's not the ERA that worries me about Samardzija, it's the nearly .5 homers/inning he's allowing. I'm sure he'll be fine though, and hopefully he gets off to a hot start like he has in recent years.
  20. Does anyone know why Tim Anderson got hardly any at bats in ST, especially the last few weeks?
  21. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 1, 2015 -> 08:34 PM) That is just silly. Literally every single minor league team in all of baseball is loaded with guys who are no where near as good as Scott Carroll. If they were better, they would be major leaguers, and wouldn't be in the minors. Yep, Carroll is fine for what he is. If your team is relying on him to start 30 games, it's probably in trouble. But as a long man/emergency starter, you could do a lot worse. He also seems like a great clubhouse guy.
  22. Jen Lada @JenLada · 7m 7 minutes ago Sale is done. Threw 90 pitches. Topped out fastball at 98. #WhiteSox
  23. Watching some of this outing by Samardzija, and his wind-up seems different than when he was on the Cubs. Seems to be turning his back a lot more before delivering.
  24. 1/3 innings, 5 runs for Samardzija. Not sure what's going on with him, but he has really sucked. Has there been any reports of his velocity this spring?
  25. Interesting to compare Hoffman's recovery to that of Aiken/Matuella. Personally, I don't want the Sox to take either. Frankie Piliere ‏@FPiliereD1 On his road back from TJ surgery, #BlueJays prospect Jeff Hoffman threw a 1-2-3 inning today in ST and worked at 95-98 mph. Wow
