  1. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jun 21, 2014 -> 02:24 AM) We desperately need to find a legitimate starting catcher between now and next March. Grandal seems like the perfect target, as he solves two offensive needs (left-handed bat, high OBP). He won't come cheap, but his poor season may make him a little more affordable. Regardless, Flowers needs to go. Something to keep in mind with Grandal is that KW and company really liked him and many thought the Sox would draft him.
  2. QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 21, 2014 -> 03:12 AM) I think with Dunn and Paulie both gone next year, you're looking at Viciedo as out DH unless someone else is signed. How about a Juan Francisco/Viciedo platoon?
  3. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 21, 2014 -> 02:17 AM) I have seen enough of Flowers in a White Sox jersey
  4. Viciedo's average down to .243 and OPS is at .683. Hard to imagine he's back next year if he doesn't turn things around. He's a power hitter that doesn't hit a lot of homers and a guy with a great arm that can't catch the ball.
  5. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 21, 2014 -> 02:03 AM) Hawk may be shocked Alexi may not make all star team. I bet he does, but he better be available in possible trades if teams are buying based off his April and May.
  6. Sox are getting shut down by some awful pitchers. They face another terrible one tomorrow.
  7. Alexei not hitting much hard of late.
  8. Dykstra has a great HR/9 and K/BB ratio
  9. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jun 21, 2014 -> 01:53 AM) How are we not killing this guy cause everyone's trying to pull offspeed pitches. Abreu's swinging like right field is an automatic out.
  10. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jun 21, 2014 -> 01:53 AM) Don't Dunn/Konerko combine for at least 12? Assume he meant Viciedo/ADA/Conor
  11. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jun 21, 2014 -> 01:47 AM) Every time Hawk says Alexei is the best SS in baseball, a knowledgeable fan dies a little bit inside. Aybar has a higher WAR than Alexei now, according to ESPN. Surprised to see that Castro's OPS is almost .050 points higher than Alexei's now.
  12. Too bad the Sox weren't in the market for a waiver claim on an outfielder when JD Martinez was available. He has the highest OPS of any Tigers hitter on the season.
  13. Beckham with the perfect example of everything wrong with this offense the last two nights. Slow breaking ball, and he pops it up to the pull side.
  14. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Jun 21, 2014 -> 02:35 AM) Jim Callis ‏@jimcallisMLB 9m Solid regular. He's better than I originally thought. @IIIWoodD: what do you think Micah Johnsons ceiling is? @WhiteSox Reply 2 Retweet Favorite Yesterday, Keith Law seemed to say that Johnson was a top 100 prospect
  15. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 21, 2014 -> 01:34 AM) Nolasco has been brutal ALL year .318 average against. Oh, he's absolutely brutal. Everyone keeps trying to pull his slow breaking pitches. Same bs that allowed Pino to dominate last night.
  16. Hawk seems pissed about the offense
  17. Good inning, now score runs again.
  18. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 21, 2014 -> 02:20 AM) That is exactly why you try someone else this is the year to do it. Sox know what they have in Noesi. I think they'll have a longer leash with Noesi getting starts than Rienzo. One or two more bad starts by Rienzo, and I would predict he gets demoted.
  19. QUOTE (Baron @ Jun 21, 2014 -> 01:19 AM) Showing progress is good. Finishing with another crappy record causes more damage. Of course showing progress is good. At this point in the season, I'm absolutely hoping they win.
  20. QUOTE (Baron @ Jun 21, 2014 -> 01:17 AM) Finishing with crappy records is so much fun. Why dont we bring it all down? Get this team moved out of Chicago. It's not fun, but they're paying the price for horrendous player development, especially on the offensive end. This is a rebuild, and I bet they predicted a top 10 pick for next season coming into the year.
  21. I missed it, did Abreu almost homer?
  22. QUOTE (Baron @ Jun 21, 2014 -> 02:12 AM) Christ he were go again Right now, baseball prospectus has them projected as the 7th worst record in the majors after 162.
  23. Another run allowed...the Sox are going to have to use all their resources this offseason on pitching.
