  1. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 3, 2014 -> 06:06 AM) Normally I'd blame the first guy, only. But geezus, Gillaspie made the worst mental error I've ever seen in a game (except for the Dybber vs. the O's in the playoffs). I mean, my god. He could have stopped and tagged Kershaw or ran to the base. You HAVE to blame Gillaspie as well. Beckham was miserable, don't get me wrong, but Gillaspie??? Horrific as well. It wasn't even the worst mental error in a Sox game over the last 4 games (Maybin forgetting how many outs there were). It was a dumb play by Gillaspie, but who knows, he might not have even known how far Kershaw was from the bag. It's not like he was only a few feet from the bag, and it wasn't exactly a rocket hit to him.
  2. Oh well, they lost a game against one of the top pitchers in baseball. No shame in that. Hopefully the offense comes alive tomorrow, as they've got to start putting up more than 2 runs on a consistent basis again. Nice to have Abreu back!
  3. Viciedo down to .272. The offensive performance by the outfielders has been dismal for the last month. Probably hitting in the .200 range as a collective group with hardly any power.
  4. QUOTE (strike00 @ Jun 3, 2014 -> 04:03 AM) A chance to beat Kershaw and the sox give up 5 runs because Gillaspe decides to make the long throw rather than step on a bag. Of course, he would have never been in that position if Beckham kept his glove down on an easy DP.
  5. QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Jun 3, 2014 -> 04:01 AM) Look on the bright side - we've got the great Matt Davidson waiting in the wings. Where's all this great young talent I keep hearing about? The Sox sure don't seem to value defense much when they draft/sign/trade/call up players. A TON is going to have to change for Davidson to supplant Gillaspie at 3rd for the Sox. Neither are anything special on defense though.
  6. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jun 3, 2014 -> 04:57 AM) He did nothing wrong except let up a hit to Kershaw And to Butera and Turner and Gonzalez. Again, he should have been out of the inning, but it continues the pattern of trouble the deeper he goes.
  7. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 3, 2014 -> 04:57 AM) I don't know how Conor could be that f***ing stupid to not tag the base. If I was Robin I'd say something to him, rather than some f***ing unwritten rule where you can't call out a player. Ridiculous, Gillaspie! Get a clue out there at third base. The funniest thing all night was when Hawk said that if someone on the Sox didn't play the game the right way, they might get benched for a while.
  8. Q should have been out of the inning, but he's going to have to find a way to pitch better the 3rd time through the order.
  9. Beckham watching the ball instead of running to a spot it might land.
  10. Have an inning Beckham....jeez. What an awful inning and likely loss.
  11. Why did Cooper wait until after Gonzalez tied it to go calm Q down?
  12. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 3, 2014 -> 04:49 AM) Conor terrible throw but a decent 1b man should pick that and f*** kkk were tied. A goal for next year has to be finding a better than awful defensive 1B.
  13. Pathetic, absolutely freaking pathetic.
  14. Why in the hell didn't he go to 3rd there?
  15. And Beckham boots the routine double play. Hawk saying not all 2nd baseman would have made it is freaking comical.
  16. Nice job by Q of coming back from 3-0. A double play would be splendid.
  17. Please don't fall apart again Q at the usual time you do.
  18. QUOTE (raBBit @ Jun 3, 2014 -> 04:31 AM) 2-29 with no walks since the Yankees series. Yep, mini-slump is a kind way of saying he's been hurting this offense leading off.
  19. QUOTE (Ozzie Ball @ Jun 3, 2014 -> 03:03 AM) Jose Abreu's not going to hit against good pitching. Oh wait... Price, Verlander, Kershaw....3 down, 9 more active Cy Young winners to go
