  1. Avi has a lot of bad tendencies at the plate. I said this last week, but I wouldn't be upset if they use him as a major piece in a trade.
  2. Abreu looks gassed. He's been great, but I don't think anyone would have guessed that Conor would have more homers after the ASB than him
  3. Well, the Bears aren't good. Defense is a joke, and Cutler still makes the same dumb mistakes.
  4. Hahn has an unbelievable amount of work to do to get this roster close to contention-caliber. It's been an extremely disappointing second half of the season.
  5. What a stupid pass by Cutler.
  6. Seemingly one of the worst offensive series for the Sox in a long time
  7. It's frustrating that JorDanks is getting at bats. They need to find a way to get Semien into the lineup every game.
  8. QUOTE (Jake @ Sep 7, 2014 -> 07:20 PM) I haven't seen anything upsetting from the defense. Offense is the problem today. Some low standards you have for the defense. They are letting a bad offense do whatever they want. The linebackers are simply awful.
  9. I can't imagine the TV ratings for this game. Meanwhile, the offense has disappeared. The Indians are going to be tough in coming years thanks to their young starting pitching
  10. This defense is so pathetic. Still can't believe Tucker retained his job.
  11. When I see Wilkins and Taylor look absolutely lost at this level, it scares me even more that these guys hit about .100 points higher in AAA than Davidson
  12. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 7, 2014 -> 01:35 AM) Yeah kind of like being in between on the fastball as a hitter...he takes time to get to full speed, lacks the ability to get good jumps. Some players can improve but others just tend to struggle with what should be instinctual actions. If he can put up 25 homers and 35-40 doubles all is forgiven...but how likely are those numbers offensively? He could actually be an interesting trade chip if he has big time value.
  13. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 7, 2014 -> 01:25 AM) He's still very hesitant and needs to bust it and get back to the wall as quickly as possible...had time to get back and just didn't get it done. He's just not natural or fluid out there. For as quick as he is getting down the line, he looks slower than Viciedo in the outfield.
  14. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Sep 7, 2014 -> 01:22 AM) Yikes Avi. I still think that shoulder is still affecting his mindset defensively. He was terrible on defense before the injury. To me, he looks like a LF.
  15. QUOTE (Brian @ Sep 7, 2014 -> 01:48 AM) Michigan O line still blows As does Hoke's decisions to go for two field goals of longer than 45 yards.
  16. Peavy just went nearly 3 hours between pitches due to a rain delay
  17. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 6, 2014 -> 02:25 AM) I'm wondering what the setup with Nick Markakis will be. He's had 2 down years but is still not ancient like Martinez, he's had 2 down years so there's a decent chance he doesn't get the QO that costs you a draft pick and a substantial amount to your signing pools, he's a left handed hitting corner OF so he fits our needs, but do you think the 2 straight down years is the end of his really productive career or do you think he's got a multi year recovery to his previous production set up? I've always been under the impression he'll stay in Baltimore, as he's the owner's favorite player.
  18. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 6, 2014 -> 03:22 AM) Why would that be if it is so much better for them? The timing of the complaints was interesting again. Waiting until after the inning is over. But Soxtslk got what they wanted, the Charlotte Knights playing major league baseball. It is hard to win when you score 1 run. For starters, there haven't been many Jose Abreu's. Something Hahn is go.ng to have to address is getting someone behind Abreu that will make teams think twice about intentionally walking him.
  19. Michael Taylor is horrible on defense. The ball jumps off of his bat, but he doesn't make a lot of contact due to mediocre pitch recognition.
  20. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 6, 2014 -> 02:15 AM) If it is so much better to not bunt and have the runner at 1st, wouldn't a genius manager like yourself, just walk Abreu anyway ? Teams almost never walk the batter if it's someone on first base with 1 out.
  21. Simply horrible managing by Ventura this inning.
  22. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Sep 6, 2014 -> 02:12 AM) Ventura simply cannot think 2 moves ahead - that's been obvious for 3 seasons. He gives away an out AND takes the bat out of the best hitter's hands. He's a third grader. Still don't know how he has a job after this year. In the 2nd inning, Hawk and Stone was saying how many stupid base running mistakes have been made by young guys and veterans this year. A lot of the same mistakes have been made two straight years now.
  23. Gotta love taking the bat out of Abreu's hands.
  24. Pretty disappointing effort from the hitters tonight. Tons of swings at offspeed pitches a foot off the plate.
