  1. Nice last two games with the core guys performing well....now stop winning
  2. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Sep 11, 2014 -> 09:22 PM) I am surprised Coop wouldn't be the one calling that shots. I'm extremely dissapointed at this. I trust Hahn to make the right choices from a business point of view. Maybe Hahn wants Rodon to be shut down for a few months, including side sessions.
  3. It's depressing to see how bad Rose looks.
  4. So why does Felix deserve the Cy Young over Sale? To me, Sale's numbers look better pitching in a much better hitting park.
  5. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Sep 11, 2014 -> 03:14 AM) Well f*** If score holds, still 3.5 up for protected?
  6. QUOTE (flavum @ Sep 11, 2014 -> 03:06 AM) Draft pick be damned, give me RBI 100, 101, and 102. He isn't even close to hitting breaking pitches of late. For as great of a season as he's had, it's disappointing to see his power completely disappear after the ASB
  7. QUOTE (raBBit @ Sep 11, 2014 -> 02:37 AM) Avi "6-3" Garcia Best trade chip on the roster this offseason
  8. Hawk saying the Sox should try to get Samardzija for next year. Does he know he's not a FA? Trading for him this offseason would be incredibly stupid, unless you know he'll sign an extension.
  9. With only a few weeks left in the year, am I the only one that feels this MLB season has sucked? The most covered stories in the media seem to be Jeter's retirement and the collision rule at home. No record breaking statistics, etc. this year to get intrigued by.
  10. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Sep 11, 2014 -> 03:14 AM) A quick glance at the standings shows the Sox and Cubs within a half a game of each other. I didn't realize it was that close. What's scary is that the Cubs have a deep system and talent being added to what they've got...the Sox, well, don't outside Rodon at this point. For as "far off" as the Cubs are with this "long rebuild," I'm really not sure the Sox are any closer to the playoffs, and they haven't accomplished anything (playoffs) in the same time frame as this Cubs rebuild anyway. Regardless of what both fan bases think, neither team is close to playoff caliber. 2016 is much more realistic time frame for both.
  11. QUOTE (winninguglyin83 @ Sep 11, 2014 -> 02:22 AM) Bassitt showed the ability to recover from his rough introduction. Might not be ready at the start of next season, but he's got a chance to be a useful piece. He looked better to me tonight than Erik Johnson did last year.
  12. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 11, 2014 -> 02:19 AM) Even 2007 had the entertainment of Fields, Owens, Andy Gonzalez and Wasserman. This is just beyond terrible. Well, at least Bassit's still fighting, there's that. A lot of the positives are being erased for me until/unless Avisail Garcia really impresses. Of course, excuses about the injury will be provided, with SOME validity, but there's far from even 50/50 certainty right now he's a 5/6 hole power bat or run producer at this point in his career. At 7-9, okay...it is what it is. But that's not what the acquisition was billed to be. You also have to remember how great Montas looked in the minors this year.
  13. No shock this team is struggling to score without Viciedo and Flowers in the lineup, as they've been nearly the only source of power the last 3 weeks. It will be interesting to see if there's actually more than 4-5 thousand at the game tomorrow.
  14. Eaton is horrible at trying to steal
  15. Is this the best LF-CF defensive combo in Sox history?
  16. Really nice walk/SB for Avi
  17. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 11, 2014 -> 12:43 AM) Wilkins has his k rate back up to 50%. Looks like he's never seen an offspeed pitch
  18. I have a feeling Wilkins is going to be a force in Japan in a few years.
  19. QUOTE (Señor Ding-Dong @ Sep 11, 2014 -> 12:39 AM) Yeah, I don't know what to make of his power outage. That double he hit in the first inning would have been gone a few months ago. He's getting no loft on the ball. I believe Stone said he's barely hit anything out of the infield for an out over the last few weeks. It seems he's not able to pull anything with authority of late.
  20. Avi has got to learn how to hit the inside fastball. He's not even close to being good at getting his hands in to get the barrel on the ball.
  21. Bassitt looked awesome in that inning.
  22. The September call-ups have been awful. Goes to show you how bad the talent in the high minors is/was for the Sox
  23. Hopefully this is the game that gets Semien moved to 2nd
  24. Most mental and physical errors I have ever seen in a Sox game. Absolutely unacceptable
