  1. QUOTE (Jake @ Aug 3, 2014 -> 09:58 PM) It's really not so much that it's a terrible pen as much as there are hardly any guys better than others. Petricka is obviously your best guy and then everyone else is "meh." There's no obvious choice when you need to not give up runs How do you figure this isn't a terrible pen?
  2. No complaints if they DFA Belisario after this game.
  3. There's no one throwing well in the pen for the White Sox. Even those with a low ERA have not looked great of late. There's really nothing Robin can do anymore with this pathetic group.

So no update on Avi yet?
  5. This pen is just so awful. Thompson's fastball barely cracks 90-91mph
  6. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Aug 3, 2014 -> 10:46 PM) It really sucks that Beckham will be leading off the 8th and chances are very good that Abreu comes up bat with no one on base. I can't comprehend how Gordon is still our starting 2B let alone batting 2nd. If they bring in Fien to start the inning, you have to let Dunn bat. It's not like you're saving Dunn to face their closer.

    QUOTE (flavum @ Aug 3, 2014 -> 10:26 PM) Can I dream on a 2018 rotation of Sale-Rodon-Danish-Quintana-Adams? I would say maybe a 2016 rotation of Sale-Q-Rodon-Montas-Danish
  8. QUOTE (Capn12 @ Aug 3, 2014 -> 09:08 PM) Let's not make out like Q is the victim totally, either. You CAN'T continue to labor through 5 innings, with a s***ty bullpen, and wonder why you aren't getting wins. 116 pitches for 15 outs is abysmal, but seems to be the norm for Quintana. True, but his defense probably added 30 pitches or so to his count today.
  9. The sad thing is there is absolutely no help coming from the minors, with regards to the bullpen, unless it's Rodon. Lack of pitching depth throughout the system has killed the Sox this year.
  10. Is Cooper seeing that Guerra's velocity is 3-4 mph low today?
  11. Are you f***ing kidding me? Stop throwing 92 mph fastballs down the plate on first pitch.
  12. Wow, this bullpen is just freaking awful. Guerra's velocity is way down today.
  13. 92 mph fastballs right down the plate....not going to get many guys out
  14. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Aug 3, 2014 -> 09:57 PM) Lol.. it's becoming laughable at this point. Isn't the point to get Abreu up with no one on?
  15. Even Hawk sounds disgusted with Beckham's hitting.

QUOTE (Jake @ Aug 3, 2014 -> 09:43 PM) Neither were ready. The obliviousness to whether hitters are ready for a promotion in our system is becoming tiresome. Of all the coaches, etc. that come under fire on this board, the one person who has been the worst at his job the last few years is Buddy Bell.
  17. This doesn't sound good Seth Lakso ‏@SethLakso Hearing that after being hit by pitch, Garcia slammed his helmet to the ground and walked off the field.

QUOTE (Jake @ Aug 3, 2014 -> 07:59 PM) good god, why did we call Mitchell up 0-4 with a K. Would have rather seen Thompson get the chance.
  19. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Aug 3, 2014 -> 08:05 PM) Roller City from Q today. They still have a chance in this game, but this is the flattest the team has been maybe all season.
  20. JJ Stankevitz ‏@JJStankevitz 2m Gordon Beckham was hitting .298 on June 10. Since: .161/.209/.293 (.503 OPS) in 192 PAs. 0-2 today. #WhiteSox

QUOTE (Timmy U @ Aug 3, 2014 -> 08:56 PM) Guy who hit him was former Sox farmhand Kanekoa Texeira, part of Swisher trade to Yankees. Figures. The curse of those Swisher trades continues. Well said
  22. The lineups this series haven't made sense. Dunn is a good sinker ball hitter, yet he sits out today after facing a pitcher last night who throws a lot of junk. Beckham, despite his success last night, is still a ridiculous choice to bat 2nd vs a RHP.
