  1. Noesi is not afraid of a big inning. He's been a pleasant surprise, but I will be disappointed if he is in the rotation next year
  2. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 30, 2014 -> 08:09 PM) Cubs trade for Felix Doubront. Standard Theo buy very low move Hawk's a big fan of Felix. Not a bad move for the Cubs, especially as the piece going back doesn't seem to be a big deal.
  3. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 30, 2014 -> 03:38 AM) I hope we trade him to some NL team. I'm sure he'll be hot for 2 weeks after he goes to his new team and it'd suck if the Sox had to play that team. If/when the Sox let Beckham go, none of us should be mad at the organization if he goes elsewhere and succeeds. The Sox have given him every possible chance to prove he's MLB starting caliber. Who knows, he might go to a team like Toronto next year and his 25 home runs based on their power hitting approach. If so, good for him...no regrets about going in another direction with Semien, Sanchez or Johnson.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 29, 2014 -> 01:13 AM) I think its officially time to start wondering about Davidson.his fielding lately may be worse than his hitting. He and Erik Johnson went from projected starters for the next 3-6 years to possible long shots to earn a starting role. Thankfully Conor has gone out and earned the 3rd base spot.

QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 27, 2014 -> 11:28 PM) Need fathom to talk smack about Davidson. He's getting close to falling under .200 again. You read my mind! He's been awful 3 out of the 4 months this year
  6. Belisario now tied for team lead in losses.
  7. Not being able to see the game, but really Ventura's best option might have been having someone like Rienzo run for PK, as it was obvious De Aza was going to have to face a LHP in that inning. Oh well, still doesn't change my mind this team should sell in the next week.
  8. To me, a monster trade of Baez and others (Almora, Vogelbach, P. Johnson) for David Price makes a lot of sense for both teams. Price has hinted he'd be interested in pitching for the Cubs, so an extension might work out.
  9. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 23, 2014 -> 09:18 PM) It will be something like Beckham for Smoak/Montero/Ackley to attempt to save face for both organizations. I wouldn't mind taking a chance on any of those 3 in return for Beckham, who's had just about the most chances of anyone in the Sox org.
  10. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 23, 2014 -> 09:10 PM) They are literally moving him around to get him to hit. Nothing much else there. I'm all for Semien or Sanchez getting at bats once the deadline hits. Beckham has played himself into a DFA candidate.
  11. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jul 23, 2014 -> 05:44 AM) Almora going to AA Tennessee. Soler going to AAA Iowa. That Iowa team is loaded. With Rizzo quickly turning into a superstar, the Cubs offensive potential in a few years is scary. If they were smart, they'd keep Alcantara at 2nd and keep Baez at SS and then trade him for a young pitcher.
  12. Out of town this week, so haven't been able to watch much. However, Beckham batting 2nd (one of the worst hitters in baseball over the last month or so) in front of Abreu is just crazy. Maybe it's a sign Micah Johnson will be up soon and batting 2nd? That's the only reason I can think of. Also, knowing the Sox luck with players performing prior to the deadline, Viciedo will probably be out for the next 10 days with this strain.
  13. Wilkins and Phegley are just ridiculous right now
  14. The Sox continue to intentionally walk hitters batting below .200
  15. An absolutely awful effort by Danks and Webb today against a horrible lineup.
  16. Great job by the bullpen tonight. Nice start to the 2nd half
  17. Wow, thought for sure Alexei got enough on that. Wind seems to be blowing in.
  18. Wow, hardest hit ball in months for Flowers. Very nice swing!
  19. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 19, 2014 -> 02:27 AM) Keep running out that door, Gordon. It's ridiculous how much he tries to pull the ball vs RHP.
  20. 3 strikeouts, 3 warning track fly outs vs Webb
  21. BTW, fantastic crowd at the game tonight.
  22. Tank has started to destroy hanging breaking pitches.
  23. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 19, 2014 -> 03:09 AM) Unless it destroys him like it has done everyone else who has been in the closers role this year. To me, it's worth the risk instead of overpaying for a closer in the offseason if no one steps up.
  24. QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ Jul 19, 2014 -> 03:05 AM) Webb's last 4 outings, including tonight: 6.0 IP, 4H, 1ER, 0BB, 10K One of the best things that could happen the next few months is if he gets a chance to close.
  25. This umpire has been awful tonight. Eaton ejected
