  1. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 30, 2014 -> 07:22 PM) Pick one. Should Noesi be rewarded for the fact that he went 3 innings and then possibly tired out as you said in your first one or should he be released from the roster for giving up runs in the 4th inning when robin "left him out to die". Noesi's just not a good enough pitcher to store on your 40 man when you're already having issues creating room. However, after seeing him get hit hard all over the field in the 4th, it seems Ventura was one batter too late in getting him out while the deficit was still manageable. If you're going to have the bullpen day, you can't keep guys in when they're clearly gassed.
  2. Sox aren't getting any breaks with the starters they've had to face. Getting Verlander/Scherzer in 2 game series is terrible luck. Samardzija wasn't going to face the Sox next week, but the rain out on Monday means he'll be starting game 1 of that series.
  3. Noesi ended up allowing more runs that innings pitched...predictable. Sad thing is I'm sure they'll be stubborn and keep him on the roster.
  4. Oh yay, now Petricka's ni.
  5. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Apr 30, 2014 -> 08:12 PM) 4 to 0 Good thing at least these games vs Tigers aren't going to end up mattering much in the standings at the end of the year. Seems like there was some bad planning by the coaching staff this week.
  6. Ventura left him out to die...really awful managing once again if you're going to have a bullpen game.
  7. QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 30, 2014 -> 07:06 PM) Throwaway game. Should have won last night. Yep, that's what made it such a brutal loss. Good effort by Noesi, but time to get him out now as they are crushing him the second time through the order.
  8. This team has sure played a lot of interesting games so far this year. Hopefully this continues at least for a few more months.

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Apr 30, 2014 -> 05:00 AM) Maybe he can start tomorrow for the big club too Seems like Danish is the type of guy that will go under the radar on top 100 lists due to his strikeout total. However, assuming he stays healthy, it's hard to imagine him not having a successful professional career.
  10. QUOTE (Wanne @ Apr 30, 2014 -> 04:02 AM) meh...or maybe it's just a house showing. Hard to buy that fact.... When Gillaspie returns from the DL, it seems obvious Semien will get sent down.
  11. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 30, 2014 -> 03:45 AM) Bunting is the dumbest play in baseball IMO. I detest it outside of a leadoff hitter who gets on base that way. Agreed...heck, even the bunt by Semien that ended up being a big play in Sunday's game would have taken the bat out of Abreu's hands if it was fielded correctly.
  12. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Apr 30, 2014 -> 03:39 AM) He's literally just dropped 3 balls these last 3 games. I'm certainly not disagreeing that he's better in left but that shouldn't have mattered with these drops. Yeah, it's a tough situation because it's hard to imagine continuing to put him out there if he simply can't catch the ball. However, that's exactly what they need to do.
  13. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 30, 2014 -> 03:39 AM) Not by a longshot. It was one of the games that Semien should have won with late homers that we eventually lost. Because it's the Tigers, sure...one of those 54 games every season that could have gone either way, difference between 100/80/60 win teams. A great chance to get a win against Verlander with Cy Noesi facing Cy Scherzer the next day is an opportunity that's tough to let get away.
  14. QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 30, 2014 -> 03:37 AM) Tank needs to be in left field, where he's less awful. And where misplays result in a double and not triple.
  15. Worst loss of the season. I don't get having Konerko hit for Semien there at all, as Semien has more power than PK and has been clutch this year.
  16. QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 30, 2014 -> 03:34 AM) Would have been nice to win this one, and not have to sweat tomorrow's bullpen game. Can it please rain tomorrow? Maybe the most unever pitching match-up in all of baseball this year.
  17. PK for Semien....really?
  18. wow, that's a major league fly out
  19. Protect the plate boys.
  20. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Apr 30, 2014 -> 04:32 AM) Yes, pull the league's leading hitter in a tie game. Not tonight...thought he should have been pulled Sunday
  21. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Apr 30, 2014 -> 04:30 AM) Ventura made Viciedo dog it on that fly ball? Who would've known. Well, maybe if he would pull him for dogging after a ball, he'd finally learn his lesson?
  22. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Apr 30, 2014 -> 04:27 AM) Every manger we face does this. year 3...he'll learn by year 8
  23. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Apr 30, 2014 -> 04:26 AM) Ausmus showing up Ventura Was Viciedo not playing no doubles as well when Jackson was up?
  24. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Apr 30, 2014 -> 04:25 AM) Why the f*** would you post this s***? No kidding!
