In honor of TPSM, do you think we can pack the Cell for the Aug 26-28 series vs Astros? Could be some big games!

All you have to know about Paul Konerko's confidence in his ability this year is that he was trying to jam himself to hit a single in a tie game in the top of the 9th with none on, 1 out.

So, Where is the $ Reallocated Now?
The Sox desperately need some of these young guys to turn into above average players. Sadly, we all know how awful the organization has been for over a decade in developing offensive players.

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Aug 1, 2013 -> 01:28 AM) gordo tagged that ball. He would be incredible in the steroid era, as all these deep outs would have been homers or doubles.

Ugly offensive day for the Sox minor league squads.

Rios, $1M traded to Rangers
QUOTE (scs787 @ Jul 31, 2013 -> 09:47 PM) Archie...I'd rather have the potential impact bat in Garcia. Um Archie is the top pitching prospect in all of baseball. With that said, I am almost positive there is no chance he was available.

Peavy to Boston, Avisail Garcia + 3 low lv specs to Sox
Not sure if this has been posted, but this is a great swing by Garcia. From what I've seen, a lot of his homers in the minors this year were to the opposite field http://www.milb.com/multimedia/vpp.jsp?content_id=29090845

Rios, $1M traded to Rangers
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 31, 2013 -> 09:28 PM) From what I heard AZ was offering a similar package to what we got but they want us to foot quite a bit of his bill. I would guess mgmt wanted to unload the entire contract if they could, and they did. I mean would a package around Bradley really do anything for anyone on this board? How about getting Holmberg back and eating salary? Are you referring to Archie here?

Rios, $1M traded to Rangers
QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jul 31, 2013 -> 09:53 PM) We desperately need a CFer so De Aza can be a very good left fielder. That would be huge. I keep saying this, but Granderson being the CF for the Sox next year seems very possible to me.

Rios, $1M traded to Rangers
QUOTE (DirtySox @ Jul 31, 2013 -> 09:47 PM) The White Sox certainly did not get an elite prospect back. They got a 50 to 100 prospect back. He's no where close to being elite. If Garcia was eligible to be ranked in the midseason top 50 by BA, where do you think he would have ended up? To me, he's a top 30 prospect.

Rios, $1M traded to Rangers
QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 31, 2013 -> 08:35 PM) Oh well. We agree to disagree. I respect the fact you love Rios as much as I despise him. My take on the trade deadline is a.) management told Hahn, 'You will not give money to teams to take ANY of our players. We will not pay our players to play somewhere else,' so that IMO probably 'hindered' Hahn a bit. b.) my opinion is the Peavy trade was a good trade, pretty fair return for Peavy. I feel Hahn in his first go-round is fully invested in the White Sox and didn't want to simply dump players having s***ty years for a horrific return. Mite set a bad precedent. For example, dumping a viable shortstop in Lexi for 2-3 nobody prospects would not be smart. I am thinking Hahn didn't want it known he's an 'easy mark' as a GM and he's not going to make trades that he feels are lopsided for the other team in any way. I am thinking he could have dumped Rios to the Yankees or Pirates or somebody had he paid half or more of the salary (probably more) and received some lousy prospect(s) - 2-3 warm bodies might be a way to put it - in return. But he's putting his foot down for the long haul showing he's not a GM who just throws players out the door. He wants something good in return even if the said players are sucking balls this season. Think about it, he could have traded several disappointing players. He didn't. My guess is because he was handicapped in not being able to send any money to those teams and the fact he was offered NON-prospects, not viable prospects, in return. Hahn is no easy mark for other GMs, even when it is debatable how good our trade chips are (were). This might be your best post ever!

Rios, $1M traded to Rangers
QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 31, 2013 -> 09:17 PM) Got a nice buffer zone for at least the 3rd pick going. I'm already looking forward to following Rondon and Beede's starts next year.
