6/3 - The Return of the Bacon Slayer
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 4, 2013 -> 05:42 AM) lol@the Konerko hating. Dude is 37 (without PEDs that's like 47 in baseball years). The decline was inevitable. The fact that it's just now happening is kind of remarkable. It's more no one wants to see such a fan favorite struggle. He's my favorite Sox player of all time, and I really wanted him to go out with a great season.

Damn, I really thought Keppinger could hit that out to dead center. 7 straight without a home run.

That was a nice swing by Dunn.

QUOTE (Baron @ Jun 4, 2013 -> 05:40 AM) How about Dunn pull a Kerry Wood That would be great if he retired after this year.

QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 4, 2013 -> 05:39 AM) PK is a pathetic shell of his former self. Yep, maybe he'll pull a Kerry Wood

QUOTE (Baron @ Jun 4, 2013 -> 04:32 AM) I am now FAU hit a 2 out, grand slam to take a 2 run lead in the 9th. Then they hit a 3 run homer in extras, only for UNC to tie it and have the winning run thrown out at home.

I really hope people are watching ESPNU

QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Jun 4, 2013 -> 04:26 AM) OMGrosso in to put this game out of grand slam reach. Flash, how many organizations would you say are in worst shape than the Sox are (current roster and farm system)?

6/3 - The Return of the Bacon Slayer
QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 4, 2013 -> 04:20 AM) There is no reason for casual fans to EVER watch a Sox game right now. The FAU/UNC game has been way more entertaining

Great game on ESPNU right now

QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jun 4, 2013 -> 04:07 AM) Flowers hits like a girl This feels like 2007 where there are a lot of players on the team that will be out of baseball in a few years.

Rocket 3 hopper by Flowers back to the pitcher.

Is Ventura bankrupt or something? He looks like he's trying his best not to get fined this season.
-
6/3 - The Return of the Bacon Slayer
Parent showing some emotion at least. Ventura looked comfy with his hands in his sweatshirt.

QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jun 4, 2013 -> 04:03 AM) Trading Viciedo doesn't make much sense to me. A contender isn't going to want him and he's exactly the type of guy you give playing time to in a wasted year. The other guys sure, I just don't know who would want them right now. That could definitely change by July. I wouldn't just give away De Aza or Beckham however. I'd want something decent or else I'd hold onto to them until the offseason. I wouldn't give away any of the names I mentioned (unless a team wants to take on all of Dunn or Danks remaining deal). I mentioned the other day that if Viciedo has a lot of value, then it might be the perfect time to get rid of him.

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jun 4, 2013 -> 04:01 AM) I think Danks will be fine next year. A healthy off-season of lifting weights, he'll be back. Out of curiosity, did Johan's velocity increase after his first season back?

QUOTE (Baron @ Jun 4, 2013 -> 04:58 AM) Agree 100 percent...maybe another player De Aza possibly?

QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jun 4, 2013 -> 03:53 AM) I'll say this much, if the Sox decide to sell, they'll have a lot of interesting players on the trade market. Peavy, Rios, Crain, Ramirez, Thornton, and possibly even Lindstrom (if he rebounds) would all be desirable. I'd probably float Addison Reed's name out there as well and see if someone is willing to offer something stupid for him. Add Konerko, Beckham, De Aza and Viciedo to that list of players on the market.

Swing the bat! Nothing like seeing Dunn and Konerko looking for a walk with RISP. This is shockingly bad baseball. I can't see how Manto keeps his job for much longer.
-
6/3 - The Return of the Bacon Slayer
So why was De Aza not running on the 3-2 pitch? Keep waiting around for the home run, Ventura

8th DP of the season for Alexei

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 4, 2013 -> 04:38 AM) Don't want to copy them. Just saying you could see a scenario like that happening. Otherwise, they're going to have to trade the likes of Erik Johnson or Santiago to get what they want...especially at the catching position. Or maybe, just maybe.....REBUILD. As Hahn said on the radio, the players have to give you a reason to want to go ahead and add to the roster. He was clearly pissed about the play of the team last week.

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jun 4, 2013 -> 04:35 AM) These guys don't need lectures. They need talent 67 innings since last home run. I have a feeling that Flowers and Manto are going to be the scapegoats.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 4, 2013 -> 04:34 AM) Looking at the Mariners is a lot like looking at the Sox. Aces in Sale/King Felix. White Sox have the advantage in overall pitching depth, and bullpen, but fairly similar teams. They're (White Sox) going to have to add random veterans like Morse, Bay, Ibanez and Morales to have a respectable offense next year. None of their young players are ready, with the POSSIBLE exception of Phegley (and that's probably a 25% chance of working out). The difference is the home stadiums. You can't have an abysmal offense and win at USCF. Seattle's offense sucks, why would you aim to copy them?
