QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 23, 2013 -> 02:30 AM) Cabrera, just to rub it in, was hitting .143 coming into that AB. You just knew it was coming. He could have been 0 for 43, it wouldn't have mattered a bit. Outside of Adam Dunn, most Major League hitters can hit 94 mph fastballs right down the plate when they know it's coming.

I'm so happy Thornton is gone after this season.

This team doesn't deserve to win s*** with the way they're playing.

Tyler Flowers is not very good at calling pitches.

Nice meatball on the first pitch. Also, why is Danks playing so deep? Ventura's not lasting the year.

QUOTE (Soxfest @ Apr 23, 2013 -> 02:27 AM) Why anyone would pay to see this? They're not

Terrible...this team is horrible at so many things.

Meanwhile, Hector Santiago neither gets to start or be used in meaningful situations very often.

Thornton's fastball seems so flat. When you get 2 strikes on Stubbs, you should be able to get the K.

I'd rather have Lillibridge on the roster than Tekotte. Similar speed and at least Lillibridge gives you more versatility.

QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 23, 2013 -> 03:15 AM) Fun bad Remember when De Aza was impossible to double up?

Haha! This organization so be so proud to have so many back-up lefties in one outfield.

Wow, awful baseball by a player that has no business being on this roster.

QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 23, 2013 -> 02:02 AM) King Felix is getting that elusive 100th win tonight. Would be going for 101 if not for Brian Anderson

Offense is just going through the motions. Alexei missed some of those pitches by a foot.

QUOTE (Capn12 @ Apr 23, 2013 -> 02:54 AM) Dylan battled all night, and leaves with enough of an effort to put us in a winning position. Insurance runs, please! Yep, really impressive performance by him.

QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 23, 2013 -> 02:49 AM) Rays series looks like we'll see Hellickson, Hernandez, Moore, and Price. Can't wait. Can't wait to see De Aza and Danks or Wise in the lineup against Moore and Price. The A's traded money for Casper Wells today.

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Apr 23, 2013 -> 01:45 AM) Dunn reminds me a lot of Frank Thomas. They're both pretty tall. Dunn does have one more hit than Frank Thomas though since April 11th

QUOTE (Jake @ Apr 23, 2013 -> 01:36 AM) Seems to be. Most of the pre-season buzz I heard about him was positive from national scouts, so I can only assume that this type of production should get him recognition. I was impressed with him in ST when he faced the Royals starting lineup.

2013 MLB Catch-All thread
Not sure how many people know this, but top Reds pitching prospect Tony Cingrani, who makes his 2nd career MLB start tomorrow, is from Lincoln-Way Central.

Anyone disagree that Erik Johnson is making himself into a top 100 prospect?

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Apr 23, 2013 -> 01:30 AM) I think it has to do with the nature of the injury plus the fact that he sort of guided his own re-hab in the off season. Or that they don't believe he can hit at this level? I'd love to know what they think.

QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 23, 2013 -> 02:22 AM) David Purcey has been on a decent run at AAA. Wonder if he could take Veal's spot sometime soon. Based on his MLB stats, he doesn't appear to be significantly tougher on lefties than righties
