  1. I hope they have the guts to bench Viciedo again tomorrow, as he's 0-7 in his career against Masterson. Wise should get the start over him, IMO.
  2. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 12, 2013 -> 01:58 AM) To top it off, Courtney Hawkins is 0/3 with 3 K's, Dunn/Flowers look abysmal and our infield defense will be an issue for the next two months. Sigh. Infield defense will be fine, I'm not so sure Gillaspie can't contribute as much offensively as Beckham. Hell, I'd love to see Gillaspie hit well enough to bat 2nd vs RHP.
  3. QUOTE (Jake @ Apr 12, 2013 -> 01:58 AM) There are few circumstances where I pull my starter in the fourth inning before he's given up a run in that inning. How about facing a lineup for the 3rd time when you have bad stuff to begin with and have thrown nearly 100 pitches? You have three lefty relievers in your bullpen, but you fail to play the match-up there. Sounds like a losing strategy to me.
  4. QUOTE (Jake @ Apr 12, 2013 -> 01:55 AM) Needed innings from Dylan, not mad at Robin. Taking out your starter in the fourth inning is tough business. Shame on Dylan for throwing over the middle of the plate so much. Hope this is the last we see of him this year. You don't waste your long man for one inning last night with a minor league pitcher on the mound the next day against a great team.
  5. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Apr 12, 2013 -> 01:53 AM) I still can't believe there wasn't bigger outrage over the fact that he was given the fifth starter job. Unacceptable Not enough fans to even care at this point I think the Sox fooled everyone into thinking Danks would be ready by the start of the season.
  6. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 12, 2013 -> 01:52 AM) A lot of big names got lit up their 2nd start this year. Oh, there's no denying that, but it seems Ventura dropped the ball big time in that game and tonight is an absolute debacle of a managerial performance.
  7. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Apr 12, 2013 -> 01:52 AM) How the hell do you throw 100+ pitches in 4 innings By having Independent League-quality stuff
  8. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 12, 2013 -> 01:51 AM) He made no attempt to get in front of it and keep it there. None. He's having one of the more worthless weeks I can recall a Sox player having.
  9. QUOTE (Cali @ Apr 12, 2013 -> 01:50 AM) Maybe Robin will resign Mid-Season, since he's not really interested in the Sox much this year so far. It won't happen during the season, it would have happened during the offseason if it was going to happen this year.
  10. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Apr 12, 2013 -> 01:47 AM) I have had about enough of Robin training on the job. The fact Peavy admitted he ran out of gas and then allowed the homer to LaRoche on Tuesday night was one of the more frustrating quotes in a while.
  11. Dunn should have never been slotted in the 4th spot this season. It makes no sense at all.
  12. So you are saying a starter with awful stuff is struggling against a great team? Free Hector... The talent level in this team is so average
  13. I hate this as this had to be the year for Beckham to show he can hit enough to earn an extension from the White Sox. Really awful timing for him and the organization.
  14. QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 11, 2013 -> 03:02 PM) Twins - no lefty starters until Diamond comes back (unless you count Pedro Hernandez) Indians- no lefty starters until Kazmir is ready, if that. Tigers- no lefty starters Royals- no lefty starters So, that's 47% of the schedule. Yikes, didn't realize that. Flowers might not hit over .180 this year.
  15. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 11, 2013 -> 02:51 AM) The shame will be doing nothing with Rios' career renaissance....but we just have to tread water and hold the fort down. 5) Develop at least one more starting pitcher He just pitched last inning. No doubt in my mind he could be a #3 starter next year for this team if he got experience in the rotation this season.
  16. QUOTE (Jose Paniagua @ Apr 11, 2013 -> 02:44 AM) It's crazy how we discuss all the minutiae of every single aspect of the Sox roster.......but honestly if everyone performs to career norms and Paulie is totally done (which is very possible at 37 coming off bad months last year)......then this whole thing is probably moot and you can ship 2013, basically You don't think the Sox front office doesn't realize this? This is definitely not an "All In" season. This roster isn't far away from having an offense where Dunn/Rios/Ramirez are the experienced players and Peavy/Danks is the lone guy in the rotation with more than a few years of experience.
  17. Santiago now in...not sure who the long man is tomorrow if Axelrod struggles
  18. Sox are allergic to drawing walks. Averaging 1.63 a game right now, and a big reason for the worst OBP in the AL.
  19. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Apr 11, 2013 -> 01:30 AM) Nats have 24 hits already in this series. And isn't that with not doing much of anything in the first 3 innings of both games?
  20. So Peavy admitted he ran out of gas last night? UGH
  21. QUOTE (Baron @ Apr 11, 2013 -> 01:23 AM) Good job Flowers. Been useless this series. For someone that catches so many inside fastballs, you'd think he'd realize that's how the opposition is going to pitch him until he can prove he can hit that pitch.
  22. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 11, 2013 -> 02:10 AM) We're about one more week from the return of Leyson Septimo. Isn't he hurt?
  23. Gillaspie has looked very good so far this year. That was a very good trade by Hahn.
  24. I'm sure they're saving Santiago in case Axelrod or Quintana get bombed. As for Veal, it's so obvious he's short-arming/aiming his offspeed pitch.
