  1. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Apr 13, 2013 -> 02:27 AM) So no lefty for Swisher who hits better from the left side . Oh Robin. Absolutely awful start to the season for Ventura, as he and the team have picked up where they left off last season.
  2. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Apr 13, 2013 -> 02:18 AM) By hard do you mean for power because his hits have been line drives. Has he come close to getting an extra base hit?
  3. QUOTE (oldsox @ Apr 13, 2013 -> 02:13 AM) Why did the Sox try to extend Ventura's contract? Just be thankful he said no
  4. Keppinger has not hit anything hard this season. It will be interesting to see if Ventura has the guts to move him down in the order.
  5. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Apr 13, 2013 -> 02:07 AM) On the bright side helluva 7 innings for Q. Yes sir, in the long run, probably more important than the final result tonight.
  6. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 13, 2013 -> 02:05 AM) We are paying attention and will all year. Not living in Chicago makes it hard for you to sense just how little buzz there is about the Sox this year.
  7. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 13, 2013 -> 02:03 AM) Nobody on this team deserves to have any fan support tonight other than Rios, Gillaspie and Quintana. God, this is awful baseball and managing. Just pathetic. The marketing department has to be cringing and hoping nobody's paying attention. Appreciate the Lame
  8. This lack of hitting with RISP is hard to watch. Just too many easy outs in this lineup right now.
  9. QUOTE (Capn12 @ Apr 13, 2013 -> 01:59 AM) I'm still totally lost, as to why you'd want Alexei to bunt, and leave the RBI work up to Gimenez...why?? If Gimenez faced Masterson 100 times, he'd probably ground out about 80 of those times.
  10. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 13, 2013 -> 01:59 AM) Or the manager needs to reconize he's been here for 6 years and he just isn't good at the sacrifice. Have you noticed so far this year how much better Hawk and Stone seem to know the Sox personnel compared to Ventura?
  11. Wow, Gimenez with a garbage swing there. Looked like he was swinging with an 0-2 count there. Can't believe he's on a MLB roster.
  12. This team just sucks at fundamentals
  13. Great start for Gillaspie
  14. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Apr 13, 2013 -> 01:53 AM) The new Q pitching great. Indeed, let's get a run and get him the well-deserved W!
  15. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Apr 13, 2013 -> 12:48 AM) Wow great play What a stud
  16. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 13, 2013 -> 12:45 AM) Well, if we can't count on Viciedo to hit RH'ers ever....we are getting closer to the Marty Plan time. Too late to try and use him as a significant trade chip, IMO. He's more valuable to the Sox than he would be on the market. With Konerko likely gone and Dunn gone after next year, gonna need to have some source of power on the roster.
  17. Awful by Viciedo...shocking. Nice call playing him Ventura.
  18. Dunn's our best hope for a solo HR this game
  19. QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 13, 2013 -> 12:30 AM) Clash of the Titans If they keep playing like this, it will be interesting to see how awful the attendance is when they return from Toronto.
  20. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 13, 2013 -> 12:29 AM) Is Gimenez actually the kind of hitter that you can rely on a hit and run situation? Ventura's continuing his 2nd half nosedive from a managerial standpoint. Would really love to see some signs of progress from a tactical/strategic standpoint. Not seeing it, YET. It can't be all Don Cooper's absence, can it? If you're expecting the bunt in that situation, you're going to throw a high fastball most likely. Bad call by Ventura given Gimenez hasn't demonstrated if he's good or bad with his bat control.
  21. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 13, 2013 -> 01:24 AM) Not going to win many games with #2, #4, #5 and #6 hitters all below .200. At least the offensive "explosion" last night raised our overall team batting average into the .250 range. Ramirez gunned down at 2B on the steal attempt. Another wasted baserunner to lead off an inning. Looking like Ozzie Ball again, haha. This offense just doesn't seem designed to compete against tough right-handed pitching. I still will never believe they didn't bring in an experienced, lefty catcher to split time with Flowers.
  22. And a blown hit and run...yuck
  23. Nice start to the inning...wouldn't mind the bunt here to avoid the DP
  24. Against someone with mediocre control like Masterson, the Sox inability to draw a walk makes it so much tougher to get a rally going. This is a dreadful performance by the Sox offense so far.
  25. Ugh, Keppinger has no business batting 2nd against righties. If he is going to bat 2nd, I don't get not putting a play in motion after De Aza gets on and a sinkerballer on the mound
