April 26, 201411 yr http://www.milb.com/scoreboard/index.jsp?c...mp;ymd=20140426 Charlotte playing already. Surkamp and Jaye starting today.
April 27, 201411 yr Recchia and Mitchell dealing. Jaye good so far. Edited April 27, 201411 yr by Stan Bahnsen
April 27, 201411 yr QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 27, 2014 -> 12:30 AM) Micah 2-2. He got picked off. More importantly, against a LHP (his splits have been huge). Trayce in one of his big slumps, as OPS is hovering around .750 now.
April 27, 201411 yr QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 26, 2014 -> 07:38 PM) 3-3 for Johnson...wonder if they'll promote him to AAA sooner rather than later. It would be nice to see Alexei traded sometime this summer, assuming this pitching staff doesn't figure it out and we are still a sub-.500 team.
April 27, 201411 yr Mike Recchia continues to dominate a league he is too old for. I hope they move him up to AA soon so we can see if he is of any value or not. He just turned 25, which would be okay for a AA player, but more appropriate for AAA.
April 27, 201411 yr QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 26, 2014 -> 06:38 PM) 3-3 for Johnson...wonder if they'll promote him to AAA sooner rather than later. After Johnson's appearance in the Southern League All-Star team in the middle of June and the collegiate draft additions and an assortment of players start getting pushed up or released. It's going to be in Chattanooga on June 17th, so he should be in Charlotte around the last two weeks of the month. Edited April 27, 201411 yr by caulfield12
April 27, 201411 yr Andrew Mitchell walked 5 in 6 innings in an otherwise good start: 6 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 5 BB, 7 SO, 1 WP Ugly 7.64 BB/9 on the year (15 BB in 17.2 IP).
April 27, 201411 yr QUOTE (Ozzie Ball @ Apr 26, 2014 -> 11:04 PM) Andrew Mitchell walked 5 in 6 innings in an otherwise good start: 6 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 5 BB, 7 SO, 1 WP Ugly 7.64 BB/9 on the year (15 BB in 17.2 IP). I guess the walk-thing is contagious. Spilling into the minor league players as well.
April 27, 201411 yr QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 26, 2014 -> 10:45 PM) After Johnson's appearance in the Southern League All-Star team in the middle of June and the collegiate draft additions and an assortment of players start getting pushed up or released. It's going to be in Chattanooga on June 17th, so he should be in Charlotte around the last two weeks of the month. GMAB, they don't make roster decisions based on how long the flight to Charlotte is. Come on.
April 27, 201411 yr QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 27, 2014 -> 12:17 PM) GMAB, they don't make roster decisions based on how long the flight to Charlotte is. Come on. It has nothing to do with the flight to Charlotte. The organization....95% of MLB organizations...prefer to reward their players by letting them play long enough to get selected for their league's respective All-Star teams. And that's always a good "benchmark" time of the season to make the decision on a promotion. Not to mention all the organizational movement with players filtering in after the June draft.
