  1. QUOTE (knightni @ May 6, 2012 -> 08:12 PM) Wainwright is struggling coming off of TJ. Second one though
  2. AJP just missed that...he's having a hard time pulling the ball with authority of late
  3. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 6, 2012 -> 09:08 PM) Getting away from the refs for a second...Spencer Hawes went 9/11 and 22 points. That just can't happen. And Omer Asik is awful. I've never understood the hype surrounding him. Get him out of here. Asik's costing himself a fortune, isn't he? He hasn't looked right all year.
  4. Ventura's made all the right decisions in this game today. Really nice to see
  5. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ May 6, 2012 -> 08:08 PM) Come on Alexei, don't try to do too much. His swing path right now makes it very difficult for him to hit a line drive.
  6. Goodness, that back shoulder couldn't be dropping more for Alexei.
  7. QUOTE (Baron @ May 6, 2012 -> 08:06 PM) Great so Ill have to see Morel bat this inning Fukudome better be hitting for him
  8. QUOTE (God Loves The Infantry @ May 6, 2012 -> 08:03 PM) A starter?! This guy is barely functional in basic relief. We have no need for him on our team anymore, anywhere. He's garbage. I'm at the point where I'm ready to root for him to fail each and every time to get the point across. He needs to go away. Question to ask yourself...when Ventura compared him to John Franco, did he mean John Franco now?
  9. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 6, 2012 -> 09:02 PM) I don't see how that is going to make him tougher to hit. He wasn't considered much of a prospect before a nice spring training. He's showing everyone why. +1...never has someone lived off of one long relief outing and Spring Training stats as much as he has.
  10. QUOTE (Jake @ May 6, 2012 -> 09:01 PM) Did I hear Hawk say "god damn it" before we went to commercial break? thought it was daggumit
  11. Finally someone in Sox organization starts to openly rip on the screwball.
  12. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ May 6, 2012 -> 08:59 PM) You've gotta be kidding me. Didn't you just say how bad Dirks was?
  13. Please let this be it for the Santiago in the majors experiment. Not sure what else anyone needs to see.
  14. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ May 6, 2012 -> 07:56 PM) Hector Santiago is a meatball pitcher right now. Been that way all year really. I can't recall the last Sox pitcher who had so many hard hit balls against him. It's fascinating cause he gets a lot of swing and misses on his fastball.
  15. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 6, 2012 -> 07:49 PM) Do other teams laugh at the Sox for having a guy like Lilly on the roster? Or is he serviceable. He hit some bombs a year ago. But he sucks currently. Greg, there were reports for a few weeks this offseason where he was the most coveted player on the Sox with regards to possible trades. He's a very valuable player when used correctly.
  16. QUOTE (Jake @ May 6, 2012 -> 07:47 PM) Brent has no idea what an offspeed pitch looks like He looks absolutely clueless...Fukudome and AJ better be used in the 9th
  17. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 6, 2012 -> 08:42 PM) I think he tips the screwball. There's that, and also that it doesn't really seem to have a lot of movement to it.
  18. Seems like one of those games that if it was the Sox stranding all those runners, it would be such a matter of time before opposition hits a 2 run homer. Get someone on for PK this inning and let him get a fastball.
  19. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 6, 2012 -> 07:40 PM) Without Rose and Noah, and with Deng and CJ banged up, the Bulls would have been fighting for the 8th seed. That's a great question actually
  20. QUOTE (JoshPR @ May 6, 2012 -> 07:40 PM) Hector mixing it up... I like it He needs to ditch the screwball and work on a slider/change-up combination. Hitters aren't even flinching at the screwball.
  21. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 6, 2012 -> 07:33 PM) I like how in the first post, we need to get someone who can be an immediate upgrade over Morel to win games, and in the 2nd post, it's a rebuilding year. I think I was supporting your thoughts on Morel with what I said. I don't like using Lillibridge (especially against RHP) to take away at bats from Morel. Trying to use Lillibridge as a band aid at 3b just throws everything else into a state of disarray. If you're going to not use Morel, then have it be someone who's not Escobar.
  22. QUOTE (Jake @ May 6, 2012 -> 08:30 PM) This should be fun. Regardless of the outcome today, anyone who doesn't think this is a rebuilding year just needs to see who we're putting on the mound today. This is a big outing for Santiago here, as if he struggles in middle relief, then you think about sending him to the minors to stretch out until Thornton is dealt.
  23. QUOTE (Soxfest @ May 6, 2012 -> 07:26 PM) Wasted opps. Right now, it's pretty easy for opposing managers to bring in lefty relievers to get ADA and Dunn out. By having to use Lillibridge at 3b cause Morel sucks, it's really negating Ventura's options. That's why getting someone who can back-up at 3rd base for Morel and sending down Escobar is pretty critical right now.
  24. ADA now 3-30 on the year vs LHP. Hawk with his 4th misjudge of the series.
