  1. That was a huge hit by Escobar, as it at least guarantees Konerko gets up in the 9th.
  2. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Apr 15, 2012 -> 09:26 PM) He won't be as bad as people think at 3rd. It's his range that is brutal. Everything else should be acceptable. Always fun to think of him playing RF against the Cubs during the Bartman series. It wasn't always pretty, but he made some ridiculous catches.
  3. VICIEDO! So much fun watching him as a full-time starter
  4. Stewart's velocity was down, but seemed to have decent downward movement.
  5. QUOTE (Jake @ Apr 15, 2012 -> 09:13 PM) WGN graphic says AJ is batting .273 and has .261 OBP does not compute Sac fly? Tip of the cap to Porcello, this is impressive by him
  6. QUOTE (ScottyDo @ Apr 15, 2012 -> 08:10 PM) Dunn swinging at a TON of low breaking balls. I was just thinking how so many of his strike outs have been on that low and in offspeed pitch.
  7. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 15, 2012 -> 07:35 PM) Brian Matusz should retire. It's a shame we miss him next week
  8. QUOTE (Jake @ Apr 15, 2012 -> 08:53 PM) Walking guys with a bunch of missed changeups = bad Getting weak contact with 90% 97mph fastballs = good The bullpen got better today. That's a great point. I wouldn't mind if they get rid of the change-up and go fastball/curve. He seemed to be aiming that change-up.
  9. QUOTE (Jake @ Apr 15, 2012 -> 08:51 PM) f*** it, baptism under fire!
  10. QUOTE (Jake @ Apr 15, 2012 -> 08:48 PM) The nice thing is the guy that can't find the plate is hitting 97 mph on his moving fastball, has a ton of drop on an 83 mph changeup, and has won "best curveball in White Sox farm system" several years running. Yeah, we're not saying he doesn't have the stuff to eventually make it. He just needs more refinement though, and I still think they'll have to change how he shows the ball.
  11. QUOTE (Jake @ Apr 15, 2012 -> 08:45 PM) Can't wait for everyone to get worked up with the "I told you we had no bullpen!" For comeback games after a win streak, you're going to need to win with your worst relievers on the mound. Sometimes you don't because they are, well, your worst relievers. We have a dynamite back-end of the bullpen. Stewart and Jones are minor league caliber pitchers, in my opinion. This is where Jason Frasor being a ridiculous bust hurts the Sox.
  12. Cooper has got to fix Jones' mechanics, as Tigers aren't even coming close to flinching on his change-up.
  13. QUOTE (Cali @ Apr 15, 2012 -> 08:42 PM) This is gonna get ugly... Jones just cannot be in the majors with his lack of control.
  14. QUOTE (sunofgold @ Apr 15, 2012 -> 08:40 PM) Yeah. I thought this was a good spot for our long reliever since we could use a guy going 2 to 3 innings. I don't like Jones in this situation. Problem is that both Jones and Stewart have NO business pitching in close games right now.
  15. Porcello has good movement on his pitches today. No idea how Viciedo got blown away with a 93 mph fastball right down the plate. 0-6 with RISP today.
  16. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Apr 15, 2012 -> 08:24 PM) Sale 100 pitches. Porcello 31. Sox hitters are being way too aggressive on pitcher's pitches.
  17. No matter the outcome, I thought Sale pitched fantastic today. Way better than he did against Cleveland.
  18. We look like how the Tigers looked the first tow games. Gotta hold them to two.
  19. Well, that was horrible by De Aza. Just terrible execution by the Sox so far today.
  20. This umpire has called some pretty bad first pitch strikes to AJ and Konerko in big spots today.
  21. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 15, 2012 -> 08:06 PM) Who is left out of this lineup? AJ? For today, I would have gone with Fukudome in 2nd spot. The Morel experiment batting 2nd makes no sense to me.
