  1. You know what's comical? Kenny traded Hudson last year cause he didn't want to have to count on a young pitcher during a playoff run. So then, he turns around and trades Jackson for a very unknown commodity in Stewart who ends up pitching in some important games down the stretch of this year.
  2. You know what sucks about this all? Today should have been a good day for the Sox organization with them making up ground while getting contributions from young guys as well as Buehrle pitching a gem. Instead, Ozzie's posse decide today would be a good day to complain in the media about how all of this, and today was a real crappy day for Sox fans. You can no longer use the "he's trying to take the negative attention off of the players" BS excuse.
  3. Terrible pitch selection by Stewart. You can't throw a 2-0 fastball right there to Kubel. Color me entirely unimpressed by Stewart's stuff. He hangs far too many offspeed pitches with 2 strikes.
  4. Lots of trouble coming here for Stewart. Needs to keep the ball down in the zone.
  5. Offense not showing up again for us at home.
  6. Rios struggling so much is also an indictment of Walker...and it's pathetic that neither Ozzie or KW have the guts to make a change.
  7. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Aug 30, 2011 -> 07:00 PM) Decent talent = decent record nothing more. Wouldn't you want to see if a new manager and hitting coach could get decent talent to overachieve in order to get better than decent results?
  8. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Aug 30, 2011 -> 07:50 PM) If ozzie was a good manager that would make sense, however he is not. He consistently gets decent talent and under achieves. He also is a terrible in game manager and makes puzzingly bad lineups. And is beginning to alienate the fan base.
  9. QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 30, 2011 -> 07:55 PM) The terrible in game manager thing puzzles me. Every manager in baseball is a terrible in-game manager because there are so many decisions you can second guess. This year, Gardy is a bum. Is he a terrible manager? Our new manager is gonna get roasted on here next year as well. Batting Rios fourth is his fight with KW continuing. That is obvious. They both are gonna be shown the door. Go back and read the thread I started a month ago about the 10 games that got away.
  10. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Aug 30, 2011 -> 06:52 PM) Random question for everyone here... Can you think of a single instance, in the past few years, where Ozzie had someone swinging on 3-0? I can't think of one. Hard to win at poker when you tell the opponent you are never going to call a bluff. Only a few times. Quentin did vs Angels this year in the 8th inning, and he popped up to right field. For someone like Konerko, you'd think a 3-0 fastball would be perfect.
  11. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 30, 2011 -> 06:22 PM) Anyway...could also mean that they have an offer on the table from Florida. Time to make Ozzie for Logan Morrison a reality
  12. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Aug 30, 2011 -> 03:45 PM) Dayan already has as many walks in 8 plate appearances (2 BBs) than he he did in 106 last year. He's 4 behind Morel
  13. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 30, 2011 -> 03:29 PM) i think their stats are justification enough And that Dunn should have had probably 50 less at bats against LHP this year.
  14. Marty, do you think Ozzie's "punishment" of Rios' continued lack of hustle and paying attention was severe enough?
  15. KW just better pray that Stewart can be a #4 or 5 starter, as Hudson continues to look like he's going to be a #1 or 2 for a long time.
  16. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Aug 30, 2011 -> 04:24 PM) I'd like to see this survey, because Ozzie was listed as second to last a few seasons ago. It's true that he was 6th
  17. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Aug 30, 2011 -> 04:24 PM) If they were on the last years of their contracts, I might agree with you. These guys are going to be around for a while, how do you justify not playing them the rest of this year and opening 2012 with them as starters? When Walker says he can't help the players make the necessary adjustments DURING the year, that means to me that you might as well give up on Dunn and Rios for this season and just hope for the best in 2012 (that being they both retire this offseason). I don't think as many people on here would have been begging the Sox to bench Dunn if Josh Kroeger was our best option in the minors.
  18. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 30, 2011 -> 03:21 PM) totally agreed. which is why i was beating my head against the wall when ozzie continued to run Dunn and Rios out there everyday over the last month when it was painfully obvious that they were not breaking out of their slumps, even when kw went public and said "play the best players, not the highest paid players" the roster has sucked, and the management of the roster has been equally as bad And why Viciedo should have been up here 3 months ago
  19. Plain and simple, Rios should not be starting anymore. I can't believe people are saying he's been better of late, as he's 9 for his last 52. Play De Aza in CF and Lillibridge in RF. If you have the guts to bench Dunn, then bench Rios (still can't get over he didn't know the game was done last night).
  20. Another real fun win. Let's game another game on the Tigers the next two days and have a fun day off on Thursday.
  21. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 30, 2011 -> 02:07 AM) They have one homer combined at Target Field since Morneau got his bell rung last year. Wasn't it Mauer vs the Sox?
  22. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 30, 2011 -> 02:05 AM) People think we are in bad shape going into the future need to look at what Mauer and Morneau have done since they moved outside, and the contracts that they have left. Like how Bautista has more career homers at Target Field than Mauer/Morneau combined?
  23. QUOTE (Baron @ Aug 30, 2011 -> 02:05 AM) Lol Tank is really slow Huh?
  24. Mercy Dayan, don't ever slide like that again.
  25. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 30, 2011 -> 02:03 AM) So in recap: Ben Revere = Juan Pierre Sox have turned into the Twins Sox lead 3-0. It's amazing how many bad moves Twins have made lately. They really should have traded Kubel and Cuddyer and tried to get some more prospects into their system. That Mauer contract is just terrible for them.
