  1. QUOTE (kapzk @ Aug 6, 2011 -> 01:40 AM) I dunno what's going to happen this offseason. They gotta get rid of Floyd that's their top priority. Insert Sale into the rotation. Unload Quentin and hope for decent haul of young players. Doubt the front office will fire Ozzie tho. Floyd has to be an untouchable right now, as it's very likely he's the only guy in the rotation last year that you can pencil in for 25-30 starts. People don't grasp how awful and fragile our rotation could be next year.
  2. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Aug 6, 2011 -> 01:38 AM) how many times has this rivalry gotten heated? Not once that I can recall. Then look at the yankees/red sox, dodgers/giants, cubs/cardinals even. Much more bad blood. Hate to say it, our guys are kind of p*****s when it comes to that stuff. It's cause Ozzie is a coward. Still can't believe we let Delmon get away with his antics last season.
  3. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 6, 2011 -> 01:36 AM) Minnesota owns the Sox, we all know that, but part of the reason is the Sox attitude towards them all throughout the organization. Spend more time working on kicking their ass than you do kissing their ass and the results may be different. Apparently the other teams in the league don't have much problem against them. You mean like having a soft throwing lefty not throw an 85 mph inside fastball to Kubel?
  4. Ozzieball!! Ha, why are you running on Butera you freaking IDIOT!
  5. QUOTE (kapzk @ Aug 6, 2011 -> 01:34 AM) hey atleast we get a decent draft pick out of this s***... wait Kenny will sign some old Type A douche and surrender his 1st rounder. J. Mitchell 0-3, 3 K already tonight
  6. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Aug 6, 2011 -> 12:32 AM) Dunn. It's nice to see him get some national attention. One of the worst seasons in the modern era? Easily
  7. QUOTE (TitoMB @ Aug 6, 2011 -> 12:31 AM) lmao. 10 game losing streak, HERE WE COME!!! Just remember, it was important to not unload players at the deadline. Hell, we're going to be 10 out after this weekend very likely.
  8. Fascinating to hear Hawk go off about how uptight our hitters are at the plate.
  9. Haha, don't stop now Twins. 3 runs might be more than Dunn's contributed all season.
  10. Seems like Hawk might have some inside information when he said Boston's going to go after Cuddyer.
  11. Didn't take long for Sox to give up the lead. Overshadowed by Dunn's error, but Beckham has got to go to second on that weak grounder to 2nd. Gosh do I absolutely despise this team.
  12. Beckham gets a meatball, but of course, he's prohibited from hitting line drives on fastballs this season.
  13. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 5, 2011 -> 08:05 PM) They might, but only because we could still lose 90 ish games. They're not winning more than into the low 70's. Sox up 5.5 on the Cubs now
  14. Cubs really might finish with a better record than the Sox this year
  15. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Aug 5, 2011 -> 04:28 PM) f*** you so hard, Ozzie Guillen. It's been quite the forgettable week for the Guillen family. Just an all-out meltdown for this organization right now.
  16. QUOTE (Greg Hibbard @ Aug 5, 2011 -> 01:12 PM) There are decisions Guillen has made that other managers would not have made that are directly responsible for wins (sticking with Pierre when everyone wanted his head, and then he hits three GW hits) I'm having trouble identifying a single example in which Adam Dunn won this team a game. Well, then blame Ozzie for keeping him in the 4th spot all year, as well as letting him face LHP.
  17. Paint, the May 6th game wasn't about leaving Humber in too long. It was about pitching to Smoak with an open base when he was on a tear at the moment. And as for Morse, he was one of the hottest hitters in baseball when we played the Nationals. Also, if you go back to the game threads for these games, this is not hindsight managing at all.
  18. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Aug 5, 2011 -> 04:38 AM) Don't know if this has been mentioned at all or if there's any draft picks that will be held over to next year do to not signing but we're currently 11th in draft order and 2 games back of the #8 Dodgers. But yeah, playoff push! I really think we can get into the 5-7 range
  19. QUOTE (chiguy79 @ Aug 5, 2011 -> 03:34 AM) This is exactly right, payroll will be down in the $70s if we don't get into contention and fool people into putting down playoff deposits. That being said I am not opposed to dropping payroll and going young as the division will still be winnable even without a huge payroll (but based on the young talent we have seen in our system they don't produce at a MLB level). It will likely be a 5-year rebuilding project and a lot of 15-20,000 attendance nights (I mean only drawing 25,000 for a Friday night fireworks game against Boston is just silly). The next 2-3 years definitely look like the Tigers and Indians will be in the best position to win the AL Central.
  20. I still can't believe we didn't trade Thornton when he might have had some value.
  21. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Aug 5, 2011 -> 02:54 AM) I wanted to see him K myself. What's the point of him doing anything positive now? Honestly, him playing well the rest of the way would go a long way to possibly salvaging his time here. Some confidence heading into next year for him and Rios would be a great thing.
  22. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 5, 2011 -> 02:43 AM) Don't forget April 11th against Oakland. With a 1-0 lead in the 9th, Oakland had a man on 2nd and 1 out when Juan Pierre dropped a fly ball in the corner on the warning track. Or April 8th against Tampa Bay. Up 7-4 in the 9th, only to completely collapse and give up 5 unearned runs after another Juan Pierre fielding disaster. Damn, I forgot how he pulled Buehrle when he was cruising in that 1-0 Oakland game, and then he used that BS excuse that they were trying to limit Buehrle's pitches this year.
