  1. So did one of Mac's co-workers suggest PK is/was a juicer
  2. I've heard so many rumors about MLB players being on PEDS the last few years, and not once heard anything about Konerko. Hell, if you see him in person in street clothes, he looks like the opposite of what an athlete should look like. He's someone that's always had a similar swing at the plate, and it's not like he's hitting landmark home runs. If the Chicago media wants someone to bash for PEDS, there's a certain 1B in Chicago who hit 3 home runs in the Sox/Cubs series that is a running joke. The Sox know Konerko's workout routine and health situation better than anyone, and if they thought there was anything fishy, I highly doubt they would have extended his contract again.
  3. The quality of the rides at Islands of Adventure in Orlando is simply amazing. Even the water rides are better than anything you'll find elsewhere. I'm not a Harry Potter fan, but the frozen butterbeer is delicious!
  4. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 24, 2011 -> 01:03 PM) Sounds a bit like Sefalosha with a better shot? Sefalosha is longer/more athletic. Butler has a much better ability to score.
  5. Zimmerman has some pretty nasty stuff. I'm ok with benching Beckham tonight, as he isn't a good match-up for the 94-95 mph heater.
  6. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 24, 2011 -> 12:58 PM) You're smarter than this fathom, come on. Here's the easy answer...if you're saying those things and Balta is around, will he immediately reply with 15 different statistics that the person writing them didn't bother citing? Well there was an argument on here earlier this year where people called Dunn "terrible at baseball". It then got into the silly discussion of how Dunn is better than posters at baseball, so clearly he's not terrible at the game. I must be dumber than usual this morning, cause I thought I had a legitimate question.
  7. Loved the draft last night. Shumpert went 17, Butler gets a first round guarantee (great story, great defender), and the two Illini lazy guys don't get picked. As for Butler, he's a great defender who's a solid shooter but can't create his own shot. He scored a ton of points at Marquette by getting to the FT line. He's probably below level quick-wise for the 2 guard in the NBA, but he's good enough defensively to survive in the league.
  8. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 24, 2011 -> 12:38 PM) A perfect example here would be the second game of the Cubs series thread where something like 6 or 7 of the first 10 posts were meaningless shots at Juan Pierre, when the line up hadn't even been announced yet. I'm fine with following rules, but let me throw out some examples that I see on here for a little clarification: - Adam Dunn is terrible at baseball - Ozzie Guillen is the worst in-game manager at baseball (I believe that's sqwert's favorite line) - Morel looks like a pitcher at the plate Would those be considered "hyperboles" in this case?
  9. Oh Spike, you're such a dumbass. Never heard of Shumpert before?
  10. I post a lot in games I can actually watch, and this year, we have struggled in those games. Trust me it was hard not seeing a second of any cubs game. I know there's usually more to debate after losses
  11. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 23, 2011 -> 03:03 AM) Dodgers' game or against the A's when he blew the 2 out, 2 strike situation? A's
  12. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Jun 23, 2011 -> 02:59 AM) Big difference between Joe Fan sitting on his couch yelling, and your catcher showing you up. Doesn't matter if he gave up 10 consecutive HRs, you can't do that. I'm not watching, and I am not Peavy's biggest fan, but AJP did the same thing to Sergio a few weeks ago.
  13. Ugh, got to put the lefty away when you have 2 strikes. Thornton should have been allowed to start this inning, but oh well.
  14. QUOTE (Real @ Jun 23, 2011 -> 02:42 AM) Post steroids? Wait, are you insinuating he was juicing? It's foolish to not take that into consideration with any of the top performers of that era.
  15. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 23, 2011 -> 03:19 AM) Like the Cubs with Zambrano? We need to send him to rehab to stop being such a damn amazing competitor
  16. QUOTE (Whitewashed in '05 @ Jun 23, 2011 -> 03:17 AM) Really Jake? Going to start arguing with your teammate in the dugout like that? How about you earn your damn salary? Any chance his actions can violate his contract and make it void?
  17. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 23, 2011 -> 03:16 AM) I don't even mind that. We need someone to get upset and show some emotion occasionally. At least they both are showing they want to win. Oh boy
  18. QUOTE (ChrisLikesBaseball @ Jun 23, 2011 -> 03:15 AM) AJ and Peavy at odds. Over what?
  19. Just following over gameday, but yikes, seems like Ozzie left Peavy in way, way too long.
