QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jun 26, 2011 -> 09:17 PM) Can't pull him with no one ready in the pen. But at the same time, he probably should have had someone ready. Humber simply fell off a cliff. Yeah, as much as it appeared he was losing it against Espinosa, I give Ozzie a pass for letting Humber try to go 7 scoreless. However, as we've seen all year, Humber hits a wall and hits it very hard. I'm still confused as to why we have 4 lefties in the pen now if Ozzie's going to be hesitant to use a lefty against a righty? -

Inexcusable manging here. Should have been pulled after the home run. -

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 26, 2011 -> 09:14 PM) I never agree with the people who blame pitch calling for a bad result. That was a terrible pitch selection. Changeup after the last changeup was blasted, when the Change is his 3rd best pitch? After seeing Nix look pathetic against sliders today, I'm very annoyed that we threw him a change-up on Friday with Mr. Slider, Sergio Santos -

QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jun 26, 2011 -> 09:13 PM) We have nine outs left at least. But seriously, Livan Hernandez should be crushed by an AL lineup. -

Jeez, he totally ran out of gas. Like someone above said, he completely loses it at the 90 pitch mark. This is what happens when you get 1 freaking run off of Livan. -

Why was Heilman and his near 7 ERA pitching for Arizona in a one run game? -

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 26, 2011 -> 08:49 PM) Those weren't fastballs. The fastball upstairs he was a little late on but fouled it off. The inside pitches he hit hard but foul were much slower and breaking Really thought they were Livan's mediocre fastballs. -

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 26, 2011 -> 08:49 PM) Great, he can get around on an 87MPH fastball. I still haven't seen him get around on decent fastballs and he's having a hell of time hitting anything off-speed. And the breaking ball he whiffed on in this AB was up in the zone (and a little in) but it didn't have much movement. Hard to hit though when you have that much head movement during your swing. He's so far off the plate, and lunges over the plate to cover pitches. Thus, his head is moving an insane amount, and not only does he have his usual hole in his swing above the belt, but now he has one under his hands as well. -

QUOTE (TitoMB @ Jun 26, 2011 -> 08:48 PM) He's going to shatter the record for Ks. No doubt about it. Keep at it Dunn. Not a chance, as he won't play enough if he continues to struggle. -

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 26, 2011 -> 08:47 PM) Couple decent swings this AB for Dunn, just out in front on the slow stuff. It was fastballs that he was out in front of. Shows you how off-balanced he is. -

QUOTE (elgonzo4sox @ Jun 26, 2011 -> 08:33 PM) He's an obvious waiver candidate. What do you think the odds are that a NL team in the postseason hunt might pick up his contract for nothing in return (a la the Rios waiver deal)? An argument could be made that if Dunn moves back to the NL he'll do better, a la Pat Burrell. 1 percent chance -

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 26, 2011 -> 08:27 PM) Other than Dunn coming out of this and playing out his contract at least close to his career numbers (with a small decline for age each year), that would probably be the best thing that could possibly happen to the Sox. But how often does that happen. I'm sure he'd still want to get his money. I really hope he figures this s*** out, but the longer you are like this, the more mentally you get f***ed up and then the only thing that can help is just a full off-season away from baseball. Kind of like what happened with Rios 2 years ago or Swisher a couple years back. Or even Konerko back in the early 2000's when he had that disasterous season. Really good post. Something disturbing with Dunn is how he seems to not be able to carry good swings from one game to the next. He looked good on Friday, and now it's back to swinging an invisible bat. There's no consistency in his approach. A lot of games, he's very patient the first one or two times up. However, he'll have a few bad at bats and then find himself in a hole in a later at bat cause he's being too aggressive. -

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 26, 2011 -> 08:20 PM) In short, I really don't like Dunn and have very little hope of him amounting to anything. I didn't like him at his prime, but I at least figured he'd hit 30 HR's with a crappy average and good OBP and I could have lived with that. What do you think of this thought: Dunn is type of guy who if he just stinks the rest of this year and next year, he might just walk away from baseball and retire? -

QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Jun 26, 2011 -> 08:16 PM) Seattle and Florida are playing tonight at 9:05 that seems odd for a Sunday. You would think Florida would have wanted a day game. Game is in Seattle due to U2 concert -

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 26, 2011 -> 07:10 PM) Having Lillibridge and Omar being your 2b actually gives you less OF depth because your backup CF becomes either Viciedo or Pierre. How so? You can still play Omar at 2nd and Lillibridge in CF if you need to rest Rios -

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 26, 2011 -> 07:08 PM) Rios has been hitting it hard by and large the past week or so. Heck, even more than that. His slugging percentage, ops, and average have been on the rise the past couple of weeks. He's also coming off a 3 hit game. I realize its sexy to hate on Rios, but unlike Dunn, he's actually coming around and also plays some good defense. To add to that, we also have no one that can take his spot. -

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 26, 2011 -> 07:06 PM) And Viciedo takes over 2b? Come on fathom. Omar and Lillibridge split time at 2nd. Viciedo gives you some more outfield depth as well. -

QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 26, 2011 -> 07:02 PM) Ozzie has to drop Dunn down to 7th or 8th. He's killing rallies. Dunn's going to find himself benched if he continues to struggle. I could see Beckham being sent down for Viciedo.
