  1. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 16, 2011 -> 09:09 PM) Did I miss the success that Fields had somewhere else? Did I miss your rants about how awful Rios was before he got here? Rios was good, not great before he got here, and then tried to impliment some ridiculous batting stance. Sure seemed like it went on far too long this year before they tried to get him to make adjustments. I truly didn't think there was a Sox fan left who thought Walker should keep his job, but I guess I'm wrong along with the rest of the "mob mentality".
  2. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 16, 2011 -> 09:11 PM) Guys like Alexei Ramirez, Carlos Quentin, Brent Lillibridge, and Brent Morel don't count or something? What the hell has Morel proven? That he can get a few flares to drop?
  3. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 16, 2011 -> 08:06 PM) If hitting coaches know what they are doing, they aren't the problem. If Gordon Beckham can't listen, he is the problem. Firing Walker because Gordon Beckham has a thick skull is just stupid. Doesn't it become mysterious though about why there's numerous players on a team that seem to not be able to impliment what Walker is trying to teach them (Rios and Beckham this year, Fields from previous seasons).
  4. QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ Jun 16, 2011 -> 09:05 PM) The division destroying and league realignment might be the greatest thing to happen to this organization since '05 Hell yeah, bring on the Astros and their awful organization! I also like watching games in that park.
  5. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 16, 2011 -> 09:03 PM) No offense, but that is the dumbest thing I have ever heard. If you don't listen at work, do they fire you, or your boss? If Beckham isn't listening and making adjustments, he is the one who needs to go, because he is the one who isn't doing his job. Well, then why the hell do coaches ever get fired? And did I not say that one of the ways to deal with this is to bench players? If the hitting coach is going to have so little accountability, then why not save the money and just spend more on the draft?
  6. QUOTE (Greg Hibbard @ Jun 16, 2011 -> 09:01 PM) Considering that the White Sox play 37 of their next 41 games against teams not from Minnesota (with the 4 they do at home), and considering that they are .500 this season outside of those games despite playing like absolute dogs*** most of the time, and considering that they were 23 over against all other teams not named the Twins last season, and considering that many of those upcoming opponents are s*** teams, yeah, I'm sorry, but I'm not willing to abandon ship quite yet. Did anyone really say on here: season's over?
  7. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 16, 2011 -> 09:00 PM) I love how the assumption (word used on purpose) is always that Walker is the one who doesn't know what he is doing, even when he is in the right. Well, it's his responsibility to get the players to adjust. If they're not listening to him, then either a new voice needs to be brought in or player needs to lose playing time in order to send a message.
  8. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 16, 2011 -> 08:49 PM) I'm sure it is wrong. Greg Walker is an idiot who just preaches lift and pull. Wow, so you think Walker does a good job and deserves to stay in his role?
  9. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 16, 2011 -> 07:47 PM) Nishioka played today. Joe Mauer is returning on the morrow. Joe Nathan is currently on a rehab stint. The guns are reloading. Exactly, this was as weak as we'll see them in a long time.
  10. Wait, the Twins are going to be out of it and tearing their team apart? This was the worst lineup I've ever seen from a Twins team. As long as they still have their pitching, pitch calling, and the name Twins on their jersey, they'll kick our ass. And I don't get why people think the Tigers are such an average team. They have a true ace and a very dangerous offense. If rumors are true and they trade some of their prospects for another starting pitcher, I think they could easily get to 90 wins.
  11. Next person to suggest Rios will get released should be banned.
  12. I'm shocked at how bad Greinke's pitched in the NL so far. I really thought he'd dominate people.
  13. QUOTE (klaus kinski @ Jun 16, 2011 -> 07:29 PM) I went for a walk at lunch and stepped in a pile of Rios And you'll keep doing it for the next few seasons
  14. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 16, 2011 -> 08:23 PM) DAVE MARTINEZ Joe McEwing is my prediction
  15. I wish we could just DL Rios and Pierre and get Viciedo in LF and Lillibridge in CF for a 2 week span to see if those guys can bring energy to the team. It's astonishing to me how little productive and energy Rios/Pierre provide. At near the half-way mark of the season, I can think of only a game or two where Rios actually helped contribute to a victory.
  16. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 16, 2011 -> 08:19 PM) And the final pitch is a strike looking. Has Omar ever got a hit for us in that situation?
  17. Major roster changes have got to be made on the offensive side.
  18. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 16, 2011 -> 08:17 PM) They did the same thing with Morel too. Says?
  19. QUOTE (WHarris1 @ Jun 16, 2011 -> 08:16 PM) Does anyone swing and miss or foul off more fastball than this guy? Nope, it's absolutely stunning to see this. He has no bat speed
  20. Beckham against someone who throws a high fastball....please get lucky!
  21. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 16, 2011 -> 08:11 PM) Sox scouting or lack there of was and is a joke aroung MLB. You mean like members of BA laughing on the ground at the Ricky Brooks picks years ago?
  22. QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ Jun 16, 2011 -> 08:03 PM) The question that needs to be asked, IMO, is how many managers or coaches in any sport would catch so little heat or even survive being so consistently futile and impotent against a team's primary rival, for so long, as we've been against the Twins, regardless of who they pitch or hit? His attempts to motivate this team have completely backfired. And it's reason #1 he needs to go
  23. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 16, 2011 -> 08:04 PM) I didn't say that. I liked the pick at the time. But what I like or don't like doesn't matter. This team can't produce a f***ing thing internally. It's pathetic. I can hindsight all I want. I don't get paid to scout, draft and develop major league talent. This team has no future whatsoever going forward. Save your '05 DVDs. That's all you're going to be able to hold on to until Ozzie, KW and hopefully JR are gone. Greg Walker's biggest weakness as a hitting coach is his inability to help his young players adjust to the league after the league adjusts to them. Happened with Josh Fields, and now it's happening with Beckham. As for the Beckham pick, I'm fine with it. I wanted Smoak first, Beckham second...and not Wallace or Castro.
