  1. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 10, 2011 -> 07:18 PM) http://www.fangraphs.com/statss.aspx?playe...ion=P#pitchtype Not a huge difference. I see a 2 mph dropoff prior to injury?
  2. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jul 10, 2011 -> 08:15 PM) yeah, the guy who's coming off an unprecedented injury. It's not like he was throwing his normal velocity prior to the injury either though.
  3. QUOTE (kwolf68 @ Jul 10, 2011 -> 08:14 PM) Peavy has looked like a very ordinary pitcher since coming over. Fastball around 90, sporadic off speed stuff...has been very inconsistent. Definitely mysterious what happened to his stuff.
  4. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 10, 2011 -> 08:11 PM) I think at this point it's safe to say Peavy is at least a semi bi-product of Petco Park. I will safely say he'll never be an above average pitcher again. That starters ERA well over 5 this year continues to be the most underrated struggle of our season. Pretty sure he has 2 quality starts all year. But hey, HE'S A LEADER! J4L, I just realized my two least favorite players on the team are Peavy and Rios.
  5. Get ready to pull him Ozzie! You should have a full bullpen, and it's beyond obvious he has nothing...anymore. That relief outing has just killed his arm.
  6. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 10, 2011 -> 07:08 PM) What pisses me off more than anything is that their piece of s*** hitters like Butera actually contribute. While ours don't do jack s***. Looks like he was sitting on an offspeed pitch. Just amazes me how Peavy of 2006 would have just gassed these hitters above the belt.
  7. Ugh, he's just flipping the ball up to the plate. No bite, no nothing. Back-up catchers are owning Peavy this week.
  8. Hell of a job pitching by Peavy there!
  9. QUOTE (Friend of Nordhagen @ Jul 10, 2011 -> 06:45 PM) And a terrible swing on a terrible pitch, a high hanger that he managed to jam himself on. At this point, he's simply a brutally inept, chronically joyless baseball player. Hate watching him "play." I'm not exaggerating when I say he's had the worst at bats the last few weeks I've ever seen a hitter have for the White Sox. It's not like he's swinging and missing. Rather, he just hits the ball with so little authority.
  10. 1st and 3rd, no outs. Peavy clearly doesn't have anything on his fastball, as he's throwing a ton of change-ups.
  11. Oh yay, this should go well. Beautiful leadoff bunt for Repko.
  12. No hustle by Rios on another weak chopper. Don't worry, he said he'll be better during the 2nd half.
  13. Swarzak has nothing out there. I'll be disappointed if we don't hit at least 2 homers against him.
  14. Peavy's going to have to get his velocity up, as he was throwing about 90 mph that inning. Nice play by Teahen to keep the Twins down.
  15. So we line it up so our three worst starters face the Tigers?
  16. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 10, 2011 -> 05:14 AM) Thank you for the last sentence about Gardy. You proved my point how you can second guess any manager in any/every loss. I hate second guessing in victories. If you second guess a victory, to me it's just stupid. Ozzie will be the Marlins' manager next year, maybe next week, and you'll have fun blasting our next manager as well cause you can blame the manager/coach for any loss. I hope you guys still enjoyed the win today despite your bagging on Ozzie. He won the game; how can u be upset? If Beckham would have bunted we may have lost the game? He probably had a 75/25 chance of fouling the first two bunts off then striking out; a 25/75 chance of getting the sac down; prolly a 40-60 chance of bunting into a DP. A 40-60 percent chance of bunting into a DP with a runner on 2nd and no outs? It's probably like a 2% chance at most.
  17. Walkoff homer for Hamilton tonight. Has to be quite the roller coaster of emotions for him this week.
  18. Gordon's probably our best bunter, but I know it's expecting a lot for Ozzie to realize that.
  19. Indians are the comeback kings at home
  20. You really can't realize the difference between saying we don't like a bunt in the 3rd inning with a runner on first and no outs and then asking for the bunt with a runner on second and no outs in the bottom of the 9th of a tie game?
  21. Great stuff paulstar, totally forgot about Future's Game.
  22. Scott Rolen added to All Star Game....huh?
  23. So what's going on with Viciedo? He didn't play in either game of the DH today.

Just an FYI, but someone on here recently stated that the exact plan was for Flowers to be the back-up catcher next year, so this is a good audition for him.
