  1. QUOTE (JohnCangelosi @ May 26, 2011 -> 11:21 PM) He looks utterly lost up there at the plate. We'd been 10x better off just DH'ing Viciedo this year and not spending the 14M per. Unreal who would've ever thunk it The teams that passed on him this offseason cause of his awful end to last season?
  2. If Ozzie called for a bunt with the 2nd batter of the game, then he needs to just leave. If it's Alexei who keeps trying to bunt, then shame on Ozzie for not telling him to stop that s***. I've never heard Farmer and DJ bag on a Sox player that much. They both agreed Alexei sucks at it, and it's just a waste of an at bat now.
  3. Farmer being extremely critical of Alexei
  4. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 25, 2011 -> 09:08 PM) If we were trading John Danks for more talent, then it made no sense to retain Konerko and others. The one thing I'll never understand is how Kenny made that Hudson/Jackson trade looking at our possible starting rotation for 2012. We're looking at a very expensive rotation with still a few holes.
  5. QUOTE (TheBigHurt @ May 25, 2011 -> 09:06 PM) Man, how f***ing hilarious (and fitting) would it be if Dunn had his first season without hitting 35+ homers... with the Sox??? I blame the Cubs!
  6. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 25, 2011 -> 09:05 PM) It's not and likely won't be again this year. Seems like we missed out on a golden chance to get some more talent into the organization, but the hesitancy with Peavy's injury makes sense.
  7. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 25, 2011 -> 10:00 PM) You can probably get people to take a couple of those contracts (AJ, Dunn), especially if Dunn ever resumes hitting like Adam Dunn. We'd have to pay a lot to get rid of AJP, and I just can't see KW and Ozzie giving Flowers the keys to the car yet (if ever). Danks is the one who needs to get traded, but only if his value is close to what it would have been coming into the year.
  8. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 25, 2011 -> 08:50 PM) Yeah Right. Adam Dunn would have come through. Ha. At least he would have had a chance against a righty.
  9. As someone said, sure would have been nice to have Dunn facing a RIGHTY with 2 on and 1 out instead of Mr. Worthless on the Road.
  10. What did AJ do? This game is on Ozzie and our bust of a CF.
  11. QUOTE (flavum @ May 25, 2011 -> 08:38 PM) This game was lost when Dunn struck out. Maybe Ozzie might not want to use him against a lefty in a pressure situation until he actually gets a hit off a lefty in a non-pressure situation. Make it simple...just don't play him at all against LHP. Promote Viciedo and DH him against LHP while getting him accustomed to LF once in a while.
  12. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 25, 2011 -> 08:32 PM) Dallas McPherson is a strikeout machine as well. But then you pull him if they bring in a lefty for Omar.
  13. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 25, 2011 -> 08:30 PM) Rios got a terrible break on the fly ball and it went over his head for a ground rule double. Anderson would have had it. Darn, hell of a start by Gavin then. I really dislike 2/3 of our outfield this season. Just don't bring anything to the table.
  14. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 25, 2011 -> 08:28 PM) And that ER was on the defense also. What happened?
  15. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ May 25, 2011 -> 08:27 PM) Ozzie either (1) didn't think Washington would bring in Oliver to face Dunn or (2) figured Dunn, at 0 for 31, was due. Either way, he's pretty stupid. Plain and simple, you don't play for one run and then bring in someone who struggles so much at making contact in that situation. Complete contradiction
  16. QUOTE (bulokis @ May 25, 2011 -> 08:23 PM) Ozzie tired of the small ball so he was hoping for a Dunn blast! Good thing we gave up an out then.
  17. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ May 25, 2011 -> 08:22 PM) Once that decision was made it was all over. Dunn was the batter and of course another lefty came in. We had a righty against a lefty, why bring in Dunn in that situation? Should have put Dallas in to bat, and then if they bring in a lefty, you go with Omar. It's all too simple.
  18. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ May 25, 2011 -> 08:21 PM) Which would you prefer, let Morel bat or hit for Dunn? Let Omar bat...I would rather have Timo Perez facing a lefty pitcher than Dunn. The guy doesn't have a single f***ing hit all year against LHP, and Ozzie created that situation. Hell, I don't even like Dunn up with a man on third and less than 2 outs against righties, as it's not like he's a good situational htiter.
  19. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ May 25, 2011 -> 08:19 PM) Pinch hitting Dunn there might be the dumbest decision I've seen by any manager in baseball this season. Not that it surprises me. Bunting wasn't exactly a brillant idea either. It's just mind boggling how stupid Ozzie is with his personnel. Maybe Washington shared some of his coke with him last night?
  20. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ May 25, 2011 -> 08:19 PM) wow, so stunned that we gave away an out and the inning ended on Juan Pierre tapping out to SS. At least we have our worst hitter getting the most at bats.
  21. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 25, 2011 -> 08:18 PM) Ozzie outmanaged once again. He is so freaking terrible. Has no idea how to anticipate the next move the opposition will make.
  22. Brutal managing..did Ozzie not expect Washington to bring in a lefty to face Mr. 0 for the season against LHP. Omar was the clear choice there.
