Shameless might be my favorite show on TV right now.
  2. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Feb 6, 2011 -> 11:48 PM) BTW fathom I think you will like two of the recent suggestions I've seen from fans in the event Weber is fired: Jeff Capel or Craig Robinson. Robinson I can at least see the possibility of him doing really well at Illinois because him and Howard would probably do extremely well recruiting Chicago but I'm not sold on his coaching whatsoever. If Capel is hired I would riot. Robinson would do an amazing job at U of I. One thing to keep in mind for Illini fans is that Howard is likely gone for a head coaching job after this season.
  3. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Feb 7, 2011 -> 01:38 AM) Whenever I think Superbowl HT Show, that's the 1 image that's always gonna be stuck in my mind. Over Janet Jackson's nipple?
  4. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 7, 2011 -> 02:16 AM) Can Fergie pee herself to improve the show? Our own Hawk LOVES Fergie, and thinks she looks good in anything she wears.
  5. When's Fergie mic was out at the beginning, it was the best she's ever sounded!
  6. Best commercial so far, IMO, was the careerbuilder.com one with the monkeys.
  7. when people act like they are too cool to care about a struggling team and respond to a thread by saying "oh, I didn't even know they had a game today".
  8. QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Feb 6, 2011 -> 12:27 AM) Ricketts is completely handcuffed by the horrible contracts and cub fans are agitated that he isn't pumping money into this Titanic of a baseball roster. He's getting the label of being a cheap-ass but there's really nothing he can do but wait it out. With the potential revenue of the cubs year in and out, Pujols is a very legit target for Ricketts. If cub fans really think Ricketts isn't going to try to win with the cubs they're delusional. He's a cub fan, but he's just laying low during this necessary purge. I expect Ricketts to make huge moves once he is able to... as his livelihood depends on putting butts in those seats. Pujols would be perfect and it scares the crap outa me that he could actually do that. We'd become completely meaningless if Pujols signed there. It is very scary the idea of Pujols going to the Cubs, but I still think this is just a negotiation ploy.
  9. Grant is likely not leaving the south, as he has very strong ties there. He's also a lock to take over the Florida job when Donovan leaves. And yes 99, Drew is an awful coach. He gets the least out of the most.
  10. Interesting reading that some of the big Illini boosters want to get Weber canned after this season. That would be a brilliant move by the Illini, as they could get some good candidates and recruiting will go nowhere but up as long as Howard stays.
  11. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Feb 5, 2011 -> 09:30 PM) Which is why I can't wait for the 2011 class to get to campus and why I wish Head would get a little playing time (although not a ton because he can't shoot at all, like he is freshman and sophomore year Chester Frazier bad). Abrams is a warrior (like having a Chester Frazier with talent), Shaw plays really hard at all times, Egwu has a constantly running motor. Henry doesn't play defense but he isn't going to back down from a challenge. Langford I don't know enough about but he seems to lack assertiveness at times but he has high upside and won't be counted on until he is an upperclassman anyways. But then you run into a problem if Richmond and Leonard are two of your "leaders". Both of them still have a ton of growing up to do. And can I also repeat that I think D.J. Richardson is extremely mediocre and Brandon Paul really needs to be playing 30 minutes a game and getting a hell of a lot more shots than he is. He's going to make the NBA, and then Illini fans will look back and be like "why didn't he play more?" Trust me, as a GT fan, it's a sickening feeling.
  12. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Feb 5, 2011 -> 09:21 PM) This Illinois team is unlikeable. It is incredible how lazy the players are at times. Illinois lost the game because they got beat to loose balls and didn't fight through screens and that is simply unacceptable and it starts with the SR class which is made up of a bunch of p*****s and Weber. Definitely the winners of the "bad body language" team contest.
  13. Yeah, I'd like to know what's up with McCamey. I saw some places where him and Richmond don't get along well, but who knows what's really going on.
  14. QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Feb 5, 2011 -> 03:56 AM) You think anyone will actually write an article about this consistent phenomenon? I'm not holding my breath. Whitlock is the best bet, and I don't even think he will touch it. It will be very interesting to see the reaction by the national media when the three coaches fired in the ACC after this season are Hewitt, Haith, and Lowe.
  15. The Kevin Love special on NBA TV was pretty awesome.
  16. QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 4, 2011 -> 10:08 PM) Please.fire.lowery Add him to the conversation I had earlier about minority coaches!! Also, Trent Johnson has done a TERRIBLE job at LSU.

Two straight awful episodes of the Office.
  18. Something changed in Dye like 2 1/2 years ago. Heard some places it was marital issues, but he just hasn't been the same guy since.
  19. QUOTE (zenryan @ Feb 4, 2011 -> 03:16 AM) Sidney Lowe has been bad at NCST. Seems like he slides under the radar. I know he's a legacy but I would have to assume NCST's patience is running thin. He's long gone...they emptied their, um, recruiting budget last year to give him one more shot.
  20. QUOTE (zenryan @ Feb 4, 2011 -> 03:11 AM) That was pretty impressive. Stan Heath has been pretty horrid everywhere he went. He's at South Florida and probably should be fired but him winning 20 games and going .500 in the Big East last year probably bought him another 2 years. Add him to the list of despicable recruiters as well. He should have been fired for the Gus Gilchrist recruitment. Another one is Jeff Capel. How does he have a job after the Tiny Gallon recruitment? Capel can thank Blake Griffin for making a lot of money at OU.
  21. Actually, add JTIII to the list of good coaches. I always forget about him, just like I forget about adding Purnell to the list of bad coaches.
  22. BTW, how is the BCBA going to feel if all four black coaches in the ACC get fired after this season? Only one with a prayer of staying right now is Hamilton, but I know chimpy is on here always saying that they want him gone.
  23. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Feb 4, 2011 -> 03:53 AM) What is bizarre is that minority coaches have done very well in the NBA and NFL but have struggled immensely in college sports. Obviously part of that has to do with the fact that there haven't been very many minority coaches that have gotten the elite jobs but it still is surprising that it is difficult to come up with a minority coach in either college football of basketball that has actually built or maintained a powerhouse. Mike Anderson is probably the best black coach in NCAA right now, followed closely by Tubby Smith (who's yet to really do anything of significance at Minnesota and there's word he wants out after this year). Lorenzo Romar has been solid, but word is that he's about as dirty as there is in the college game (besides Scott Drew). Everyone likes him, but is Craig Robinson the most overrated coach in the NCAA? Oregon St. has been awful the last two years. Clearly, Paul Hewitt, Leonard Hamilton, and Haith need to be taken to the glue factory. Thankfully E. Kent got fired last year, as he was an absolute joke of a coach.
  24. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Feb 4, 2011 -> 02:48 AM) They should bring in someone with ties to the city league and just open up a pipeline of kids that want to stay in the city and bang lincoln park trixies I flat out told someone on the search committee that if you can't get Chris Collins, go ahead and get Jerrance Howard. He'll get you anyone in the city that you want. I'd love to talk to that person now and tell them congrats on making a pathetic hire who has no chance of exciting your fan base.
