  1. This Twins lineup is just ridiculous basically since the start of the 2nd half of the season. Not an easy out in their lineup.
  2. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Aug 11, 2010 -> 01:37 AM) Would we have gotten Jackson if Peavy didn't get hurt? Probably not and Freddy would still be the #5 starter. And we could have used Hudson to get a big time bat or had him lurking in case Garcia got in trouble.
  3. The good news is that Garcia will not get to face the Twins next week. I really hate how we had our worst pitcher going in the first game of the series, but just like everything else, Ozzie's the one in the spotlight now. I'm happy to hear a lot of people in the media starting to ask questions about his lineup decisions and style of play.
  4. Way to go CQ....and let's get the pen involved in this game.
  5. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Aug 11, 2010 -> 01:46 AM) I've been saying it for a while. Losing Peavy hurt us a LOT more than people made it out. Yep, hurt our offense and pitching
  6. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Aug 11, 2010 -> 12:42 AM) Man, tonight is a great reason why losing Peavy hurts BAD. Haha, just saw this after posting the same thing in game thread. It's really amazing the domino effect that injury has had on our chances this season, yet it's so rarely talked about.
  7. QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Aug 11, 2010 -> 12:44 AM) Jesus... I'm still at work, but I'm glad I didn't rush home to see what you guys are looking at. Freddy getting shelled huh? Well this is making the Edwin Jackson trade look even better. NO ONE should be complaining about that anymore? Imagine having Freddy as your 4th starter with an unsure rookie at 5... I don't think we'll ever understand how crippling the Peavy injury was to our season.
  8. On the bright side, if we can comeback to win this game, this would be our season changer like the Twins got by coming back to beat Jenks.
  9. QUOTE (Real @ Aug 11, 2010 -> 01:40 AM) He's garbage, watch him pitch and you'll see his era is smoke and mirrors, we'll go up and out in the next inning and Ozzie will concede defeat by running Freddy out there again to give up 4 more Batting average against rising close to .300. Good thing is management saw this coming, so I don't think they'll leave him in to die the rest of the season.
  10. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Aug 11, 2010 -> 12:37 AM) Twins have sure come to play and with two homers are going to show us they can play our game at the Cell too. Question is can Freddie regain some control over this thing before he gives up 4 or 5 runs in an inning? Twins have come to play ever since the Jenks letdown. If they continue to hit seemingly over .500 the rest of the way, you tip your cap to a superior team.
  11. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Aug 11, 2010 -> 01:35 AM) nice brawl right now CIN vs. STL What happened?
  12. QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Aug 11, 2010 -> 01:33 AM) lol anyone going to say Season Over yet?
  13. QUOTE (AWhiteSoxinNJ @ Aug 11, 2010 -> 01:32 AM) Get Freddy the f*** out of this game, he is going to get killed. Cooper planned out the rotation a few weeks ago for the rest of the year, and we ended up basically giving up a game letting Torres start in order to let Garcia pitch tonight.
  14. QUOTE (Thad Bosley @ Aug 11, 2010 -> 01:32 AM) And they're not even all that sound right now - they're missing Morneau!! Still a pretty damn good lineup now that Mauer is Joe Mauer again. Hopefully we stop pitching to him with an open base, as he's just red hot right now.
  15. This team needs to regain their swagger as soon as possible. I can't believe this is our lineup tonight in the biggest game of the season. You look at that lineup, and you wonder how the heck we can compete with such a sound Twins team.
  16. Looks like Ozzie got his ass handed to him by Showalter once again. Horrible all around series...I hate Ozzieball! And is Thornton hurt?
  17. Really feel like KW would kick the crap out of Rizzo if he got the chance.
  18. QUOTE (AWhiteSoxinNJ @ Aug 9, 2010 -> 01:38 AM) I like the trade deadline access and debate. Well, I hate D. Zien, the Assistant Director of Baseball Ops. His talk about facing LHP in the postseason was idiotic considering we have to make the playoffs first.
  19. Beckham not sure he'll be back for the Twins series...yuck!
  20. The Hawk stuff was awesome
  21. QUOTE (iamshack @ Aug 9, 2010 -> 12:55 AM) You remember how I said Friday's loss was unacceptable? This is why. Not because that loss killed us Friday, but because it killed us today. You've got to win the extremely favorable matchups when you have them, because you're going to lose games like this today. We win that game Friday night, today's loss still hurts, but not like it is right now. great post shack
  22. QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 8, 2010 -> 08:32 PM) I'm just enjoying the season. My expectations really aren't that high. I believe the Twins have a better team. I'm hoping for the best while enjoying baseball. For me, I'm absolutely thrilled that it hurts when the Sox lose games. After the first 50 or so games, this seemed like a wasted season. It would be great to see the Sox have a great home stand coming up. I'm happy we're going to play the Twins to hopefully provide some energy to this team.
  23. QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 8, 2010 -> 09:21 PM) Great. You haven't a noticed in a drop in posts on here, except the same simplistic arguments about Kotsay and Jenks and Ozzie's lineups? Negativity wins out, but negativity ultimately sucks. Or it's cause the summer is ending, which means a lot more people are going on vacations with their family before school starts again? Also, it's not like we've had the most exciting match-ups lately. I bet the thread/chat is packed for the Twins series.
