  1. QUOTE (hammerhead johnson @ Aug 8, 2010 -> 08:12 PM) Markakis has been more disappointing since the start of '09 than just about anyone else I can think of. Quentin?
  2. BTW, Corey Patterson was someone I suggested the Sox should go after a few weeks ago. He'd provide nice depth to the outfield, good speed, and a lefty bat.
  3. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 8, 2010 -> 08:07 PM) Yeah, and I think they'd be happy to take Quentin, Konerko, and Rios. Of course, no one would trade Roberts, Markakis, and Scott for Konerko, Quentin, and Rios. I'd take Wieters over AJP as well
  4. QUOTE (daa84 @ Aug 8, 2010 -> 08:07 PM) i have a bad feeling about facing matusz tomorrow too I trust our lineup against LHP though.
  5. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 8, 2010 -> 08:07 PM) The Sox have scored 100 more runs than the Orioles this season. The Orioles have the 2nd worst OPS in the AL, ahead of only Seattle. The Sox have an OBP more than 30 points higher than the O's and an OPS 50 points higher. Offensive talent...sorry, this was the argument we started on Friday on here. You're seeing a lot of the numbers for Orioles hitters improve as season goes on, especially Jones. It will be interesting to see if they add Dunn in the offseason like some suggest.
  6. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Aug 8, 2010 -> 08:05 PM) Hawk b****ing about the zone. Based on what I have seen, I have no issues with the strike zone. Agreed
  7. QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Aug 8, 2010 -> 08:05 PM) Haha really? Are you just saying that or are you serious? We've been talking all weekend how the Orioles main starting 9 on offense is just as talented as the Sox.
  8. I'm not a big fan of Castro's pitch selection with Buehrle. It's sad that I would do anything for Sox to have the Orioles lineup.
  9. And we're losing just like that. You can't be walking Patterson to lead off an inning.
  10. Well, gonna have to pick him off now. Beckham has a strained groin...hopefully he's back soon.
  11. QUOTE (chw42 @ Aug 8, 2010 -> 07:58 PM) They're making this way too easy for Guthrie. Alexei seems to be in dead pull mode. His 5 infield hits this week have kept his average up, but he's been hitting fewer line drives than he had.
  12. Wow Kotsay, show a little freaking hustle please. Why do the two worst hitters on the Sox, Kotsay and AJP, get to show the least amount of hustle?
  13. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 8, 2010 -> 07:48 PM) He's looked flat out bad the last 2 ab's. I don't know why anyone would ever throw him a fastball.
  14. Wow Konerko...he's just giving away at bats now.
  15. Way to go Rios! Thanks for that run f*** Showalter
  16. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 8, 2010 -> 07:44 PM) Another out given away on the basepaths. At least Vizquel got to 2nd. Is there any advanced metric that measures outs recorded on the basepaths? Nothing for Pierre to do on that...he did the best he could.
  17. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 8, 2010 -> 07:40 PM) That would be a reason why. WTF was that by Pierre anyway? Pierre always does that. He'll fake throwing to the stands, and then throw to CF.
  18. I wonder if Showalter told Guthrie to throw at Pierre after that stunt in LF at the wall?
  19. f***, Beckham did hurt himself on that defensive play. That would really suck for him to miss the Twins series.
  20. Never realized that "stay in here" is Hawk's defensive version of "stretch"
  21. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Aug 8, 2010 -> 06:27 PM) Do you guys ever get tired of being negative? Basically unbearable to read these threads every day. Its 1 damn run in the 4th inning. You think Twins fans were jumping off a ledge down 4 to the Tribe and potentially losing 2 out of the last 3 from them? 2 runs in 17 innings against the worst starting pitching staff on the planet (hyperbole yes) is worrisome. Marte blows an easy DP, and Twins have the lead.
  22. Grind out to 2nd. No idea what Kotsay was swinging at.
  23. Yep, Twins tied the game at 4 and about to go ahead.
  24. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Aug 8, 2010 -> 06:21 PM) What else is new. That DH with the OPS over .930 of theirs started the rally.
