Sox draft signings and reporting places
Red Sox with just an amazing draft, as they were able to sign Renaudo.

Sox draft signings and reporting places
Just amazing how an organization that's trying to rebuild their farm system refuses to do anything to piss off Bud. Meanwhile, the powerhouse teams in the AL continue to go way over slot for their draft prospects.

Sox draft signings and reporting places
Very disappointing to see the Sox fail to sign anyone above slot after the first round.

Thanks for breaking everyone's hearts before the 9th
QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 16, 2010 -> 10:50 PM) At least we will know a lot more after Thursday. If they sweep us, they pretty much are the darlings of baseball this year along with the Rangers. Darlings of baseball? No one in the media cares about the AL Central.

White Sox Trade Catch-All
QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ Aug 16, 2010 -> 06:31 AM) No no no, that would disrupt the precious chemistry we have. THATS why we won't get one Jenksy...we just agreed on something!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyone else watch the Hoff Roast? Greg Giraldo's Gary Coleman joke was fantastic.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 16, 2010 -> 04:25 AM) What part of my post did you disagree with? Everybody wanted Putz. Putz finally got the job and has 3 failures in a week. Jenks had the job and had 2 failures in a week. If both guys do the job we win 5 more games probably. Is it the manager's fault? No, it's the player's fault. I'm just pointing out the cliche nature of b****ing about personnel. When we won all those games was it Oz's managing? No, just as it is not his managing when we suck. I guess he could have had Putz closer earlier than he did in the season. Fact: Oz deserves blame for personnel decisions in wanting Kotsay. Yet he's not the GM so the blame there has to be shared. You may disagree, but I blame the bullpen problems on the members of the bullpen rather than the manager. He's the same manager that led us in a 25-5 stretch as he is now. Yep, he led us to a great stretch against mostly (crappy) NL teams...no shock, as he manages like we're an NL team.

August White Sox Catch-All Thread
QUOTE (knightni @ Aug 16, 2010 -> 04:18 AM) Far too much sitting back, relaxing and strapping "it" down. Maybe a family member got hit by a bike because the kids' dad told them not to stop.

August White Sox Catch-All Thread
Assuming Hawk's family is ok, I really hope that the "illness" was a pulled muscle caused by not stretching

Theories? Why do the White Sox fade in Aug/Sept. every year?
Cause regardless of what our manager thinks, we're a home run hitting organization because of our park. The last year, it seems our HR pace slows down considerbly the last two months.

QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Aug 15, 2010 -> 11:15 PM) I do. People think Pierre is too fast to hit into a DP. He doesn't hit the ball hard and he doesn't hit liners. He's hit into DPs. He's good at bunting and he may have a better chance of getting on base with a bunt as well. He's terrible at bunting

Sox vs. Tigers 1:05 CT, CSN
Something that's frustrating is that our pitchers didn't take advantage of the shadows. With shadows that bad, no way a hitter can pick up the spin of an offspeed pitch. Instead, Castro kept calling for fastball after fastball. It's no surprise that Alexei missed Perry's slider by a foot, as there's no way anyone could have seen that pitch. All of the damage the last 2 innings by either team was done against fastballs.

Sox vs. Tigers 1:05 CT, CSN
Most disappointing home stand in a very long time. Keep your head up boys, got 3 huge games coming up. Gonna have to beat the Twins anyways if we want to make the postseason.

Too bad Nick Swisher wasn't batting here.

If the leadoff man gets on, will Ozzie bunt? And I'd love to see a video of what Cooper's reaction was to this mess in the clubhouse.

QUOTE (IamtheHBOMB @ Aug 15, 2010 -> 09:28 PM) You know that Kenny Williams is doing some crazy upper body super set workout right now to release the stress from this s***fest. Ha, completely agree bomb. Guarantee there's a bunch of "I told you so" going around about Garcia.

If things go from bad to worse over the next 10 days, I wonder if we'll put Putz on waivers?

Sox vs. Tigers 1:05 CT, CSN
Pena's ERA going to be over 5.50 after this inning. Can't wait until he's out of this organization, and we get an actual long man.

Thankfully there's an off day tomorrow so our bullpen can rest.

QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Aug 15, 2010 -> 09:21 PM) Actualt Tony P has had some pretty solid games for us this year Yes, in long relief. He's been BRUTAL in short relief. He's well on his way to having an ERA over 9 since the ASB.

QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ Aug 15, 2010 -> 09:19 PM) so that's the reason? IF pierre gets a hit? Awesome. What about IF Alexei doesn't swing at a ball in the dirt? What about IF PK hits a gapper? So stupid If Konerko hits a gapper, then Beckham scores from first. Giving up the first out is just so idotic when Perry was clearly rattled. I wish more teams would give up outs to the Sox.
