Something that will be interesting to see is if Viciedo can develop enough power to hit it out to right center. Last year, we saw Beckham with a ton of warning track power to right center, but unfortunately, he hasn't been able to improve on that.

QUOTE (scenario @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 04:31 PM) He's not brutal in the field. In fact, he looks better than I expected given all the posts people have been making ripping him. He's no GG candidate, but has good hands and a cannon arm. The other stuff can be learned. He needs to find a comfortable location to play at when at third. He's either all the way in, or almost back on the outfield grass.

QUOTE (DBAHO @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 03:29 PM) A lot of veterans such as Dooling and Bell could take the minimum this season, and then Miami would have the MLE to use to re-sign them to bigger contracts in the following seasons. And they've got 4 2nd round picks who palehosefan told us about who they can develop going forward cheaply as well. They're going to spend all of their available money on Dexter Pittman's post game dinner spread. I heard somewhere that they're trying to talk some guys out of retirement to return, like Reggie Miller.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 04:11 PM) TCQ out again is starting to worry me a little bit, but its a day game at the end of a series. If he is out tomorrow as well, then I'll be really concerned. Ozzie said yesterday he'd sit him today no matter what.
-
QUOTE (Real @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 02:58 PM) Does TCQ have a f***ing broken knee or something? three straight days, f*** your #400 Andruw At this point, I hope it's not something more serious...like a detached kneecap

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 03:57 PM) Ugh. Jones again?! He should have a terrific game against the Santana slider.
-
That Bill Simmons article might be the best work he's ever done. The last sentence is also outstanding!
-
If he goes to Miami and they'll be called Miami Thrice, I will root for all three of them to tear their ACL and detach their back muscle.

Can't get over how well Garcia pitched last night. That was the smallest strike zone of the year in the first 6 innings. Garcia got a ton of swinging strikes, and pitched over some brutal defense.
-
QUOTE (docsox24 @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 01:33 PM) Good post. I am right with you. It's not a big loss. If anything we would miss him in the playoffs when you need the dominant start. Though he has never shown that in the playoffs. Pick up a good bat and we can win this thing. That and don't make 5 errors Well, Peavy's about as good in big games as Javy Vazquez is.

Carlos Boozer was on espn1000. He's a great interview. He said LeBron told him he's considering two teams, but didn't tell him which two. Boozer didn't seem overly confident that LeBron would be joining him, but he did remind him of how good their starting 5 would be.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 07:17 AM) How would he have quotes from a final decision but not have made up his mind yet? I have no idea, but nothing surprises me right now
-
It wouldn't surprise me for one second to hear that James group has spread all these rumors about NY and Miami today just so that he can pick the Cavs tomorrow and be considered even more of a savior for the city of Cleveland.
-
QUOTE (Sonik22 @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 06:15 AM) Broussard says Bulls still have slight shot, f*** you, you were just saying how it was basically a done deal to Miami. f*** it all make it 8 pm already Broussard gave many excuses for why he might not end up picking the Heat, so even though I would say Heat have to be considered the front runner, Cavs fans shouldn't start jumping off the bridge just yet.
-
Broussard on ESPN right now
-
QUOTE (IamtheHBOMB @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 06:10 AM) Did he actually disclose any of the quotes? Yes, one they showed was "I don't want to sign a 6 year deal and end up being a 31 year old with bad knees and no titles". Sounds like Bosh declining to go to the Cavs was the turning point, if true.
-
Broussard seemed to have quotes from someone in the James camp about why he decided not to return to Cleveland.
-
QUOTE (BFirebird @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 05:19 AM) If that is the case...then why even have a DH? because one position in the lineup won't make or break you...but it seems it's going to break our farm system
-
Garcia made some great pitches tonight. Love seeing everyone in starting lineup get a hit AND an error.
-
QUOTE (WHarris1 @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 05:19 AM) The flying to Miami thing was shot down ok, I hadn't heard if that was true or not yet. thanks WH
-
QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 06:16 AM) Has he ever posted on this board? yes, he also said it would be very easy to acquire offense near the deadline if needed
-
QUOTE (IamtheHBOMB @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 06:16 AM) Why do we own the Angels, but lose a series to the Royals? The Royals lineup is more balanced. If the middle of the order can't produce for Angels, the bottom of the order sure won't.
-
QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 05:17 AM) He's got Melo's wedding. As Willie said, there's no way he'd leak absolutely nothing through out this whole process then all the sudden give up his decision by the location of his press conference or one hour special or reality show or whatever the f*** you want to call it. Yet he flew to Miami tonight?
-
Anyone else remember Rob Pelinka from Michigan basketball a long time ago?
-
QUOTE (WHarris1 @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 05:14 AM) So he won't let anything leak to the media, but he will give up his decision based on the location of his announcement? Don't believe that either Would you say that if he was announcing in Cleveland, he would likely be staying there? I don't think LeBron would announce from Gary, Indiana to say that he's not coming to the Bulls.
