Sox vs. Tigers 1:05 CT, CSN
QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Aug 15, 2010 -> 08:28 PM) We can relate to that. Chris Carter looks like the bad version of Pedro Cerrano at the plate.

Twins up 1-0 after 4 1/2 innings. A's offense absolutely pathetic in this series.

QUOTE (TomPickle @ Aug 15, 2010 -> 08:26 PM) Sergio Santos has How To Lose a Guy in 10 Days in his basket, that's 1000 times more embarrassing, Mean Girls is actually enjoyable. oh yeah, hot L. Lohan in that movie

Ha, stop batting Teahen 5th please.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 15, 2010 -> 07:16 PM) In that Twins game yeah, but he's been a lot better today so far. The 2nd inning was great, but the 3rd inning and now the 4th have seen too many balls up in the zone.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 15, 2010 -> 07:15 PM) Ok, the pitch to Avila wasn't very good. He hangs nearly 40-50% of all offspeed pitches these days.

Get someone up in the pen, Garcia simply doesn't have the stuff to get thru the order a 2nd time lately. Looks like Garcia was the pitcher we needed a replacement for, and not Hudson. Watching The Club, it was obvious there were members of the organization that could see this coming.

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Aug 15, 2010 -> 07:09 PM) Without Miguel Cabrera dropping that pop-up, we don't score the runner from 3rd with 0 outs. Sheeezus. or a balk Seems like PK is seeing a ton of 2 strike offspeed pitches lately

Nice sac fly by Alexei...thanks Avila for calling for an inside fastball.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 15, 2010 -> 07:01 PM) Which might be a symptom of not having a ton of either MLB experience or experience at that position. True, it's not like he showed a lot of range at 3rd last season.

Fantastic AB by Pierre...hopefully Alexei picks up the slider better.

QUOTE (IamtheHBOMB @ Aug 15, 2010 -> 06:58 PM) That play wasn't totally Gordon's fault. He was screened by Alexei as he was trying to make a play for the ball. He is far from a stiff. I agreed with balta before that stiff was a poor choice of words. It's more like he does a good job of getting into position to make plays, but he just doesn't execute well.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 15, 2010 -> 07:57 PM) Didn't he make a really good catch last night covering a lot of ground moving towards the RF line? That's considered a tough play? Not being an ass, but that's a play any 2nd baseman in baseball makes.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 15, 2010 -> 07:55 PM) A stiff? It was a bonehead play, but that's not a word I'd use to describe him. A Stiff is Teahen at 3b or Quentin in RF. The next time Beckham makes a tough play will be a first. I agree though, maybe stiff was a bad choice of words.

Crazy stat: Mauer's last 15 games vs RHP = .609 batting average

How's it possible for a young, athletic player to look like such a stiff at 2nd base?
-
Sox vs. Tigers 1:05 CT, CSN
Wow, we're just so f***ing awful right now. Terrible decision by Beckham...nothing new with him at 2nd.

Wow, hell of a play by Alexei! And please, just mute the broadcast Comcast. I love Stone, but this is as painful as it gets.

2nd time thru the order, and Tigers are taking much better swings against Garcia. Of course, with this horse s*** lineup the Sox have, it probably doesn't even matter.

Teahen strikes out way too much for someone with mediocre power. At least Castro keeps proving why he deserves more at bats.

Great inning by Garcia

Wow, pretty big scuffle between Galarraga and Avila/Laird.

Good job Garcia!! His offspeed stuff wasn't sharp, but his fastball actually hit 91 mph. BTW, was just told that Grimes is still 50/50 to sign by tomorrow night.

Garcia already hanging pitches all over the place. Ozzie better have a tight leash on him today, especially with tomorrow's off game.

I also don't like sitting Omar with Garcia on the mound, as it's likely there's a ton of hard hit balls to the left side against Garcia's 63 mph fastball.
