  1. QUOTE (WHarris1 @ Jun 14, 2010 -> 09:50 PM) Since when is considering your boss an inferior NOT insubordination? How is that not a fireable offense? When you win the World Series in 2005, you are immune from the common laws of the work place.
  2. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Jun 14, 2010 -> 09:12 PM) I wonder if any of this is getting played up for that TV show. Great, we have Spencer and Heidi running our team.
  3. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Jun 14, 2010 -> 08:50 PM) Maybe it's KW's act that has the organization weary. He's the GM, he should take responsibility for the team he put together. Instead, there's this notion that this is somehow Ozzie's team presumably because Ozzie says "we can win with this team" Cause Ozzie has always wanted speedy players, where as KW wanted a focus on OBP. We have Juan Pierre, who is Ozzie's favorite player in the majors, and someone he wanted on the Sox since the day he left the Marlins coaching staff. During ST, Ozzie and Hawk would tell everyone that would listen about how much they love the versatility of this team and how fast it was.
  4. QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 14, 2010 -> 09:44 PM) I LOVE watching Adam Wainwright pitch. They guy never hangs a curve and is just so efficient. And his inside fastball to righties is amazing. I agree, I love watching him pitch as well.
  5. As for the player that gets the least with the most amount of talent, I'd have to say B.J. Upton.
  6. Oh, I also love watching Juan Uribe bat. Every time I watch a game at San Fran, it amazes me how Bonds hit so many home runs there. That field is just mammoth. I don't care if he was on all the steroids in the world....lots of our players have been juiced up, and no one else could hit it out to right center there.
  7. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Jun 14, 2010 -> 08:39 PM) Kotsay and Jones are Guillen guys as well. Jones is KW's guy
  8. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 14, 2010 -> 08:33 PM) He had to run those players out of town because Ozzie hated them. FWIW, I heard Oz made life very hard on Swish in the clubhouse and made the friction with old guard like JD and Konerko harder for him to deal with. agreed, it seems he's never done anything to make relationships better in the clubhouse. I know for 100% fact that he sat around last year as the "old guard" didn't acknowledge Rios.
  9. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Jun 14, 2010 -> 09:33 PM) You could probably get Fukodome for Linebrink right now. Fukodome is not going to see the light of day. He is the bizarro world Ramirez as he can in April and May but nothing after that. If you do that deal, you better make the Cubs pay like 70% of his remaining deal.
  10. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 14, 2010 -> 09:30 PM) Fuk would immediately be one of our best OBP guys and the best leadoff hitter we could possible have while playing good defense. I would be all for it to replace Juan Pierre. But you have to worry about him just sucking beyond belief in his career after the first few months. Also, he has a ton of money still left on his deal.
  11. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 14, 2010 -> 09:28 PM) Out of those moves, the 2 that were KW may actually turn out ok. Peavy will be fine, Teahen actually started hitting when he got hurt. Pierre and Thome were Oz's and are terrible. Heck, I'll point out that KW's worst move was unloading Swisher for nothing when his value was so low, and I always felt like Ozzie could have done a better job of dealing with Swisher on/off the field. If Ozzie's supposed to be a player's coach, then he has done a pretty job of creating a positive clubhouse environment with guys like Swisher, Cabrera, and Getz being run out of town cause they didn't fit in.
  12. QUOTE (scenario @ Jun 14, 2010 -> 09:24 PM) Geezus... why is this so black and white with some people? Either nothing is going on... Or it's inevitable Armageddon with someone on the verge of being fired and the organization coming apart at the seams? When you have the Manager's son accusing the GM's father of pulling strings to get the GM's son moved up into the batting order, that's pretty much is a soap-opera environment. Add that to the Thome issue, the Ozzie's wife yelling at KW in the parking lot while media watched, etc., and I personally don't think Cowley is reporting anything false right now.
  13. So scenario, how can you still think nothing is going on when Konerko and Garcia confirmed that there was a very loud shouting match between Ozzie and KW?
  14. QUOTE (scenario @ Jun 14, 2010 -> 09:11 PM) Yes, seriously. Stone hasn't said squat. The vibe being thrown out there is coming from Cowley... and echoed by sportswriters who know nothing about what's going on and are simply reacting to his stories. Somewhere Joe Cowley is sitting back and laughing that he can yell 'fire' and watch all the little people run around in panic. Yawn. Stone was talking about Hahn on Friday and said that he wouldn't be surprised if he took over as GM sooner rather than later. He said that there was definite tension, and that he hoped the current winning ways would help that. You really need to give guys like Heyman and B. Olney more credit.
  15. QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 14, 2010 -> 09:06 PM) June 17, 1994 airs Wednesday. Remember that day like it was yesterday. Things just kept happening. agreed, and it's crazy that the patriarch of the Kardashian's was the one who read the "suicide" note.
  16. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jun 14, 2010 -> 08:06 PM) The article doesn't even get Ozzie's sons right, so I am still skeptical. That said, more and more of this noise has been hitting the wires. Its certainly possible there is fire there. Ozzie needs to go. Heyman's just about the best baseball reporter there is.
  17. QUOTE (scenario @ Jun 14, 2010 -> 08:04 PM) I still don't believe there's much substance to any of this. We'll see. Seriously? Even with guys like Steve Stone saying their relationship is horrible right now? Just look at the tweets from Ozzie's family, and you can tell there is some bad blood between the families.
  18. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jun 14, 2010 -> 08:03 PM) does he want to fire Ozzie for trading for Teahen? For trading for Peavy? For trading for Pierre? Or for choosing not to bring back Thome? Well, the Pierre and Thome decisions were Ozzie's.
  19. This information has been leaking out for over a month now. Sadly, the organization is totally setting it up for Ozzie to stay and KW to take an executive position within the company. Hahn will likely be the GM, but don't forget that Ozzie and Hahn didn't get along earlier in the year. I believe it was Cowley who said that Ozzie complained to JR about KW after KW mentioned at Soxfest that it was up to Ozzie if Thome would be offered a deal to return.
  20. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 14, 2010 -> 06:42 PM) There's no way in hell this team is capable of sweeping a three-game series against Pitt. Your what hurts? Down playing the potential and ability of this team seems like an easy way to take any pressure off of Ozzie.
  21. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jun 14, 2010 -> 08:36 PM) I think Heyward, Stras and Ubaldo would be my top 3 at the moment, can't really put an order on those 3 though. For some reason, I love watching Dodgers closers. Maybe it's cause their home games are on at 12 at night and Vin Scully is announcing, but watching Gagne, Saito, and now Broxton have always entertained the heck out of me.
  22. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Jun 14, 2010 -> 08:28 PM) I see what you did there. No Ubaldo? Yeah, I should have included him on there. Most of those guys are carry overs from last year...you can replace one all star with another and put Jimenez at #5.
  23. Since there's no Sox game today, I was thinking about which performers in baseball do I keep the channel on when I'm flipping back and forth thanks to the Extra Innings Package. I would have to say that my top 10 are: 10. J. Heyward 9. P. Fielder 8. J. Hamilton 7. S. Santos 6. T. Lincecum 5. C. Blackwood 4. M. Cabrera 3. A. Pujols 2. J. Broxton 1. S. Strasburg What about you guys?
  24. Please put Chase Blackwood in the banner, thanks
  25. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 14, 2010 -> 06:11 PM) Q is a pop up machine. His new stance and swing suck terribly. He used to be a line drive machine too
