I'm very happy for it, but that finish was sort of deflating.
"Oh, it's over...yay!"
I was trying to think what the baseball equivalent of that odd goal would have been to win the World Series?
Cards can't seem to beat any of the good teams in the NL. Swept by the Dodgers. They desperately need another starting pitcher and might need another 2B.
This is the latest from my GT source about Grimes: This kid has so much potential that he was drafted higher than expected. His Junior year he was an All-American and going to be a sure fire top 5 round lock. Then he was hurt all summer long and hurt his status, well he sure did bounce back strong. Id give him a 30 percent chance he lands at GT.

Well, I saw it coming in terms of his performance...but not that he would be elevated because of the failures of others.
Yeah, I just didn't think he'd be able to perform well with throwing all junk. I was thinking today how Garcia really needs to go down as one of the most important Sox pitchers in Sox history.

I'm not going to say I thought he would be the rock, but I did mention almost continously that I expected him to perform as well as a #3 starter for us.
Well, you're a smart person then. Never did I see this coming.

Really? I thought you were one of the Porcello adorers?
No, I'm very unimpressed by him. We roughed him up in Clayton's last start with the Sox. His stuff is nothing special.

Goddamned these mfers....they'll do this for 2-3 games now to pull my faith out of the coals...just to crush me again in a week.
Hopefully we play well this weekend. Should be facing Silva/Wells/Lilly

What happened, Fathom?
Vizquel didn't run until a fly ball to right dropped, preventing him from scoring. It was an obvious single off the bat.

Jeesh, that kid looks like the real deal as well.
Didn't know Juan was this good of a defender.
Impressive defense by Juan out there! Tigers seem to develop big lefty hitters that put up decent numbers, and then fade away fast.

30 minutes into a game and the gamethread is less than 2 pages, ouch..
Alexei homered...besides that, not a hard hit ball for the Sox. Beckham pulled off the ball badly, and hit a weak grounder to SS.
