  1. Indians are all over Thornton. This is as hittable as he's looked all year.
  2. Stoney trying for the jinx of Thornton by saying he's the best lefty set-up man in baseball.
  3. AJP swung at ball 5, but great take out slide by PK
  4. Looking at the game log for the past few weeks, Pods basically dictates whether we win or lose.
  5. At least we get to see Ramon Castro play tomorrow! I keep expecting him to crush the ball, but his results have been incredibly disappointing.
  6. Wow, just a really bad effort tonight. You will never hear Hawk be so disappointed with a team's performance as he is tonight. Still a lot of time left in this game, but we can't let them keep getting cheap runs.
  7. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Aug 9, 2009 -> 01:28 AM) After seeing Torre's utter inability to throw strikes in his 1st start, I can't say I'm completely surprised by what happened today. I am, however, both surprised and disappointed to see the White Sox up to their old tricks. Playing down to the competition. Let's see how the offense looks when Masterson is out of the game. This offense, especially with our veterans turning into homer or nothing, has no chance against sinker ballers.
  8. I missed the first few innings and the discussion on here....why is Wise playing instead of Kotsay?
  9. Masterson has a chance to have such a good, long career. Love the action on his sinker.
  10. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 9, 2009 -> 12:22 AM) When you put the Charlotte Knights pitching staff on the mound, the results aren't what you are looking for, unless you are jockeying for decent draft position. Contreras really needs to step up tomorrow. If he goes out and has another dud, then you're really looking at some pitching issues for the next few weeks. Contreras has been solid against Cleveland in the past, so I'm optimistic.
  11. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 9, 2009 -> 01:20 AM) I love how many chances we give young guys. Well, when's the next time we need a #5 starter?
  12. Time to try out Hudson in the #5 spot. The focus of this team the last 3 days has been very disappointing.
  13. Can't fall too far behind, as Masterson isn't likely to give up many homers.
  14. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Aug 8, 2009 -> 05:50 AM) Puzzeling move when you read it, but when you break things down, it makes a lot of sense. Like others have said, if the Sox are confident adding Rios will help this team and not hinder them from making future moves, payroll wise, I'm all for it. Makes you wonder if they know that Dye is likely not coming back next season?
  15. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Aug 8, 2009 -> 03:59 AM) And who bats leadoff the rest of this year and next year? Pods has been one of our better f***ing hitters this year. The only reason we are even f***ing sniffing first place. To just throw him out would be the dumbest thing this organization could do after lookin for a leadoff hitter. I totally agree with this. I like the idea of having a 4 person rotation in the outfield with some time to take at DH as well. However, I still think this could have a really negative impact on the clubhouse THIS YEAR. As for 2010 and forward, I'm all for it.
  16. We face a pitcher with a sensational sinker tomorrow. Better hope our "grinders" carry the load tomorrow. Dye should get the game off for Kotsay as well.
  17. Benching Pods for Rios would very possibly have a very bad impact on the clubhouse, in my opinion.
  18. So Wise is considered a better option to get on base than Getz? Interesting
